  1. Has the medal ceremony already happened? If not, when is it?
  2. Patrick Chan? Perhaps established stars such as Mao or Yuna? Daisuke Takahashi? Contemporary skaters who are aspiring to establish themselves as headliners, such as Shoma or Nathan? Has Yuzu ever been in a show with Shoma or Nathan? I think younger skaters such as Junhwan, Vincent, Deniss, Russian or Japanese girls would see it as opportunity but older big names and rivals, not necessarily.
  3. I think his asthma doesn't affect him much anymore. Most people grow out of it. His stamina has improved throught the years, though. Since 2015/16 season he has been able to do multi-quad FS and not appear completly out of breath. He's bulked up a bit too, big tigh muscles, quite a bit of abs. But I noticed that after the Helsinki FS - not to mention ACI - he took his time recovering, like he used to in the past. He seemed really out of breath, so that's probably the effect of the 30 secs cut, despitee the general improvement in stamina.
  4. That's not evil, that's quite plausible. There seem to be some Daisuke fans who disliked Yuzu who switched to Shoma because he had a chance to knock Yuzu down a peg, and even more glaringly, Patrick Chan fans who disliked Yuzu and who switched to, wait for this, Nathan Chen. At least Shoma's skating bears a bit of resemblence to Daisuke's, but Nathan Chen's skating is an antithesis of Patrick's, so the only reason for them to vehemently support Nathan that I can imagine is the fact that he had a chance to knock Yuzu down. The cynical me is convinced they do it just for clicks. Or maybe the fact that Yuzu keeps winning and is almost universally loved no matter how they criticise him would make them sound like fools if they kept it on. But frankly, I stopped trying to listen to Tsl back when the female blond skater was still doing it, partly because of the stupid shit and innuendo they'd be saying about everybody, but mostly because of the verbal diahrea.
  5. Hehe, we've been through all that right after the Olympics and Worlds, with all the "Nathan would have won if he had skated clean" - literally every point you made was raised. But logic doesn't fit the NBC narrative so whatever.
  6. Lol, it's just the same old song again: "Chen's Worlds score would have taken Gold at the Olympics; we've never seen Chen and Hanyu hit all their jumps in the same competition". They just conviniently neglect the fact that Yuzu always managed to hit his jumps better than Nathan whenever they were in same competition. I guess they had to write something when Yuzu's total score is 13 pts higher than Nathan's in their analysis.
  7. It's really interesting that this time around, I think skating after Yuzu benefited Brezina. He was not under pressure to win and since he was not a threat to Yuzu's domination, he had the whole super-happy audience on his side. People enthusiastically clapped along almost through his entire program - it can't have hurt. Compared to Kolyada who had stuck fingers in his ears so as not to hear Lazukin's score, Brezina actually seemed to have an easier time! But I guess if you're a direct rival like Nathan was or Javi, it's freaky.
  8. All the talk about his newest EX and I won't be able to stay for the entire Gala in Helsinki.... Haru no Koi for me only if Yuzu bombs and takes a 5th place or something and skates in the first part of the Gala... I so dreamt of seeing it live!
  9. Lol, I just spent half an hour looking up train and coach prices to Strasbourg.
  10. I love believe... The program and the costume, although there's something missing about that costume for me, something in the back. But it landed in the middle of my list!
  11. Hmmm, this time it wasn't completely right. I guess it didn't give me enough battles, I'd put white LGC and Chopin1 above R&J1, and Origin in top5.
  12. Hahaha, 5-way tie? My first attempt was a 12-way tie at #1. Here's my second attempt: I have an inkling that Otonal and Origin will move up once Yuzu gets a hang on them, and they'll win many of the battles just because of being fresh and new.
  13. I use them to carry documents. And learning materials. In my job, actually, I never have enough. I could have 20 Yuzu files and I'd find practical use for all of them. Edit: Once I lef some papers in a Yuzu file on a desk at work, and my new collegue asked, "Is that Yuzuru Hanyu?" and I was all "Omg a kindred spirit!" inside. She was at the watching-general-figure-skating-videos-on-youtube stage though, not the biting-your-nails-waiting-for-ticket-sales-to-open-and-then-spending-€200/1000. But we bonded a bit, so thanks for the files, Lotte and nice Japanese ladies!
  14. I'm not really sure. A $1000 suit is not exactly a $1 chewing gum... It'd be cool though. I'm a lucky possesor of 1 (one) clear file, a Chopin one. Got it from one of nice Japanese ladies in Helsinki. How I wish I could get one (or all) of the xylitol ones. :dream:
  15. That'd be a brilliant and easy advertising campaign. They could just show a few old pics/vids of Yuzu in ill-fitting suits, there's a huge selection of those, how about the official team Japan Olympic ones, then show him in a custom-made suit and just say, "Look at him now!"
  16. Oooh, the sleeves! I adore the sleeves! I want a costume next season with those sleeves!
  17. You could wait and see if someone who can't go will want to sell their tickets cheaper. Right now there's lots of tickets available so waiting is safe, but I imagine that if Yuzu announces his participation, they'll sell quickly.
  18. They couldn't just let Mao enter regionals? I guess they meant they wouldn't have been able to handle the fan and media interest? In that case I'm not so surprised they made an exception for Yuzu and gave him a bye right from the start, with him it'd have been 10 times worse. But with Wakaba not doing sectionals still makes no sense to me. The process of advancing from regionals to nationals gets interrupted. Will her Skate Canada result be taken into account instead of sectionals when qualifying for nationals?
  19. I mean of course it makes sense that Yuzu gets a bye and ACI makes it completely within rules, but if they were willing to just give a bye to their Olympic champion, they could have done the same for their Worlds vice-Champion. *grumble grumble* Will she have to skate in sectionals as well?
  20. But... Neither was Yuzu. How come Yuzu gets a bye and Waka doesn't despite a Worlds silver?
  21. But that's an unusual movie-worthy story. Marin, ahem, not so much.
  22. Why is Wakaba taking part in regionals? Doesn't she have an automatic invitation to Nationals?
  23. Yeah, but the title is "favorite" athlete, not "best known" athlete. Now I understand how powerful promotion agency can be. Though to be fair, in my country there's a ski jumper who rarely makes it to the top 10 in competitions and is about 5th in the country results-wise but he's really popular because his funny. Shoma, and his brother lol, have been doing lots of promotion too, his outings to the matches have been in the papers, he's been on shows I believe. Makes me curious, if Yuzu did more promo stuff would he nab the popularity top spot from Shohei Ohtani? Does Ohtani do a lot of promotion in Japan or is he like Yuzu?
  24. Off topic, sorry, but Marin Honda...? She barely has any results compared to other FS ladies...
