Did anyone notice how Yuzu throws his arms up during the camel spin when Prince does that short piercing shriek? I love that detail. Does anyone else actually do choreography during spins like Yuzuru? I adore so many Yuzuru's spins, the gala combinations are probably my favorite, especially Requirm and Swan ones.

I'm by no means an expert, but so far, I have learned this much: In singles, there are 72 GP slots available (6x12). 24 of those slots go to top 12 at Worlds Championships (each gets 2). If the junior Worlds Champion decides to go senior, they also get 2 spots. The the Season's Best top 24 a and World Standing 24 get guaranteed 1 spot. Usually, that doesn't exhaust the 72 slots so the host federations are free to give a second slot to a skater who already has 1, or give a slot to an eligible skater down the list or an eligible junior-turned-senior. And after all federations have picked their skaters, WITHDRAWALS happen so again there are free slots to give away. I always imagine the process to go like this: Feds sit at a table. Japan: We're taking.... uh... Yuzuru. China: Boyang, duh. US: We'll be taking Nathan later on, so we don't want Yuzuru... nor Shoma... Boyang please. Canada: Damn, Boyang's taken... Yuzuru wants SC, right, whatever. We'll take Yuzuru. He akways bombs SC anyway. Russia: Shoma then. France: Well, Shoma, no prob. Canada: We're taking Patrick. US: And we, Nathan. That's a great outfit. I wouldn't mind Yuzu wearing somethjng like that, maybe a bit more flowy version. Mura is my evidence that Yuzuru's costuming is cultural. For the Japanese costume is a COSTUME. Shoma's not doing "understated" either. I still can't forgive Javi exchanging that red/gold/black chic for the all-black boringness in his Spanish sp.

So many great stories! I think that if I had caughed Vancouver Olympics accidently like I did with Sochi, I would have got intersted in FS 4 years earlief. I would have loved Weir, Takahashi, Lambiel ( actually, I still remember the 1st yime I saw Lambiel, he was a lanky 16yo and a guest star at an Euros or Worlds gala, skating to Pink Panther doing crazy spins, I think). But alas, Yuzu was the one who caught my eye!

I clicked 14/15 season because that's when I actually started following him, but the reason was his Sochi Olympics performance. I remember being all " la la la, oh there's figure skating on TV ... I used to love figure skating... I haven't watched for years.... lemme see if there's anyone worthy of shining Yagudin's skates... OH HOLY SHIT PARISIAN WALKWAYS SO THIS IS HOW MEN SKATE THESE DAYS???" But after that, the FS slipped my mind again until I caught that the TV would broadcast 2014 GPF, and I remembered how I loved Yuzu in Sochi and I looked up Yuzu and learned about what happened at CoC and NHK... And then I watched the GPF, biting my nails. Afterwards, there was a rabbit hole of youtube videos trying to catch up!

I also think it's a big big if. Sounds more like something a tabloid would invent just to create some drama. (Btw, if tabloids MUST invent drama, this is the sort that props up a skater something fierce, a PR agency would be proud :rofl2: ) Does it say if that those 2 programs would be to the same music?
