  1. I don't think that POTO 2.0 is going to happen because that season was an awful season for Yuzu, and I don't see him wanting a reminder of that experience.
  2. Then it is definitely on the 8th, because I am also busy on that day and I never get what I want
  3. please let it be any day other than the 8th I am free all week except for that day..
  4. I guess we are not ready for anything after all
  5. The Spiderman SP was a perfect fit for Boyang, it is sad to see it go..
  6. I am ready in the sense that I want to know what it is today rather than later, but I am also nervous about the reaction for it .. I am still recovering from the Chopin explosion
  7. Sorry Is there any announcement before the open practice we are waiting for or are they just going to drop it on us suddenly without warning? I am getting nervous and want to be prepared if possible

  9. I don't think this has been shared here before... CCTV Documentary - Ice World:The Story of Boyang Jin with English subtitles
  10. Thank you for the video Is this a normal thing that skaters do? it does not look good for the ankle at all
  11. Thank you, I was looking for the appropriate thread to post this question and I think this is it. it is about this tweet, can someone explain what he meant by "Positioning his blade's edge back into the middle" and why it had caused him pain before?
  12. I think Yuzuru is a bit different in that regard. When he insists on something it is because he knows he can do it and usually does. He did land the 4S which everyone said he should ditch and it is a beautiful jump now, he also manage to land the combo of doom and fixed the edge of the flip which he worked on for years. I am personally not worried when he insist on something because I believe he really is capable of doing it.
  13. This is so cute Whoever made this is a genius, and the attention to details is amazing
  14. Doesn't Yuzu usually have the same combo in the SP and the FP? you think he will change 4S3T to 4T3T like he is doing for his SP?
  15. Thank you for explaining and I do agree with you.. I personally don't think he will repeat Seimei as I am sure he is well aware of what is said about him repeating programs, but you never know. When it comes to media and PR, my concern is not what the media in a place like the US for example would say because they will only push their own skaters. What I am worried about is the media in Japan and whether they will do anything to support Yuzu or will they stand by and leave him alone (for whatever reason). Japan is the only country with two contenders for gold (for now) and it would be bad for either of them if the media and the federation chose only one to promote and pushed the other to the side lines. Though I still believe that Yuzuru has his fate in his own hands, and that no bad PR can take from his brilliant skills and amazing performance ability, so he would have to rise above all criticism and make sure that no one can push him down.
  16. Thank you for the translation @gladi It was a very informative and fun article to read. I think it really shows how complex the process of creating a program is, and how many people are involved in the conception of the few minutes we get to see in competitions. It is also very interesting to me who is learning about the sport to hear from people other than the skater and their coaches about what happened behind the scenes.
  17. I am curious what you mean by the media and PR, which media are we talking about here? I think that since Yuzu is the favourite and the man to beat means that he will be the target of all media trying to alleviate the other men and improve their chances. At this point I don't think there is anything that Yuzuru can do that will not be dissected and analyzed to find faults. The argument I keep seeing is that he will be accused of playing safe, but what if he did get two new programs, will he really be left alone? no, the narrative will just shift into finding a problem with whatever choice he made. Is it a warhorse? he is also playing it safe. Is is it new music? you can repeat all the negative comment H&L got here. Did he keep his layout? he is not pushing himself. Did he include a new jump or change the layout? He is afraid of the young ones, he will never be clean because it takes him much longer to incorporate new jumps.etc. Everything I wrote above are real comments I have seen and I can keep going if you want. The thing is he is under the microscope and is the person to beat, so he will be attacked left and right no matter what, and the best thing he can do for himself is to ignore it all and go with what he and his team thinks is better for him. PS:Sorry if I am coming too strongly here and it is not in any way my intention to attack anyone or belittle your opinion, but I do know first hand what it is like to be in a situation where you are damned if you do and damned if you don't like Yuzu is right now.
  18. This is the reason why IMO I think him having a performance he is proud of is more important than winning. His performance is in his control while the scores are not.
  19. I think Yuzu's goal of consistency is not just about winning. He had lived with the regret of his free at Sochi for years and I think the performance itself in Pyeongchang is as important to him as the gold medal. I only want him to have two performances he is satisfied with even if he didn't win. I don't want him to beat himself up for not being able to perform at his best in the Olympics twice, or have people who criticise him conveniently forget everything he achieved and only remember that he was not clean at the games.

  21. I you are going to be a one hit wonder then an Olympic medal is preferred. It is better exposure and would look good on your CV
  22. It is is very possible that he did not grow much in that period because he started getting taller early. Look at his older pictures and you will see that he was quite tall even at 15 and 17 (for his peers). So he probably finished growing earlier as well, or his growth has slowed down.
