Funny that there are people (not in this forum) that are complaining about the scores for US International not bring as high as Lombardia.. I thought we are supposed to complain about inflation not correct scoring

If he used this layout it would be zayak right? not that losing the 2T is such a tragedy considering the BV

I would allow him to use the kitchen. But since it is my mother's domain, he better behave or no amount of pretty or cute can save him

I agree about the second movie, but I forgive them because I love the ending.

I am not sure what to think of this program.. Zhenya is a beautiful and expressive skater, and I think the music is a perfect fit for her. But, I find the the program kind of boring and repetitive and could really use a highlight. Hopefully it will feel different in competition with the costume and everything.

What is happening here? This is like few different programs mashed together
-
I agree, that program needs a lot of work and the choreography is very simple and not as strong as the music. Though I am sure he will be working on it as the season progresses and it will be better. However, I am kind of missing Boyang in that program, I don't feel his personality like I did in both his SP and FP last season. I hope that is only because it is early and not because the program does not match him.

Yuzuru has so many allergies and he seems like a picky eater as well (just my guess), this can make it hard for him to accept invitation to eat at someone's home as they would have to make something special just for him. I have this problem and I only go to these kind of gatherings if it is one of those arrangements where everyone brings a dish, so I know that there is at least one thing I can eat and I will not be a burden to the host.

I have been looking for the source of this rumor but can't seem to find it. All I found is that he put a quad at the end of some of his runthroughs to increase his stamina but no mention of 4Lz, are we sure it was not 4S all along?

Yuzu wears black all the time when not competing (casual clothes and traning clothes), and I think it may be too much black. I can't even imagine a black custom without thinking of his UA Of course, Yuzu being Yuzu he can surprise me with something spectacular, but I am still unsure he should go for black... Dark blue and red on the other hand I am totally on board with

I don't think it is a matter of finding new challenges because that is easy for him (the sky is the limit after all). I believe that he will retire when he feels that this chapter of his life is over and that he is ready to move on to something new. Yuzuru is at the age where young men start planning their future and looking ahead and he will have to decide on what to do after retiring. I think that decision is what would help him choose the best time to stop competing. Skating competitively after all comes with a lot of extra stuff other than competitions and medals. There are injuries, fans, media, and lots of pressure that can wear anyone out, he may like to compete but end up finding all the other things exhausting and not worth it. My wish for Yuzu is to compete as long as he enjoys it and to get out the moment he stops. I don't want him to associate his skating with negative things or to lose his love for skating.

Funny thing about this program is that I never search for it.. Youtube knows me very well and keeps of putting it in the recommendations out of nowhere

The issue with Chopin and LGC is not in technical difficulty or music taste (although it may be a factor). The main thing with LGC is that the performance has to be at very high level, he needs to feel it and be able to enjoy it like at GPF and Worlds. When he is stressed or under the weather the performance suffers and loses a lot of its impact, a case in point WTT. That has never been a problem with Chopin which he skated while happy, tired, in pain and still managed to make it brilliant. I find it funny that this is the second time I am explaining the problems with LGC even though it is my favorite of the two and the program that got me interested in Yuzu in the first place ... I hate being a realistic person
-
I agree with this. Also if you go back to how people reacted to both programs you will see that Chopin was liked from the beginning (even before it was skated clean) and many who are not Yuzu fans loved it. LGC on the other hand was very divisive, people either loved it or hated it.

As long as it is not similar to parisienne walkways it should be fine.. He already looks the same as he did four years ago and wearing something similar in his SP would probably confuse people who watch only the Olympics, they would think he was stuck in a time capsule or something

I think his choice of Chopin is more about rising the average than about losing confidence. LGC is a program that is very unforgiving of mistakes and a little lapse of concentration can cause him to lose a lot of points as we've seen last season. Also, didn't Brian say that he thought Chopin was the best option as well? I think the choice was more or less a team decision and they all agree that it is the best thing to do this season

Was there a full version of Yuzu's Hana ni Nare performance (the one he did with the kids skating lesson)?
-
I find it scary how self aware he is, especially at such a young age. It took me years to find the courage to examine my own flaws and be able to look objectively at myself, and I still find it hard to admit my shortcomings.I am also glad that he is not being hard on himself and his confidence is reassuring.

We still do not have enough details about the changes they plan to make after the Olympics, there is still hope that they will address the PC issue. As for new role (if it really happen), I think it is a good thing. reducing the BV and increasing the range of GOE means they are recognizing the need for quality over quantity. I have been thinking that they should do that for a while now because quads are becoming the norm (at least at the top) and they should be scrutinized more considering the huge advantage merely landing one gives the skater.
