So you are one of the amazing young people born in 1994. Happy birthday month! (I looked for a birthday cake emoji but I could not find it...)

In the previous version we can see Patrick, so he won't compete in Nationals...?

No one except us...

According to Kahoku Shinpo, Sendai did this to pray for his fastest recovery and cheer him up for Pyeongchang. The panel will stay there until April 8th.

Yeah, I know that you did not mean to correct his Japanese, and as you said, we don’t usually address ourselves with honorific except when we use “ore-sama” or when we are hosting a TV show for kids. I don’t know why Jason said “Jason-san”, but it reminded me of the casts in such TV shows. They often introduce themselves saying things like, “Minasaaan, konnichiwaaa! Uta no oneesan desu yooo!” or “Yaa, minna! Taiso no oniisan dayo!” Maybe he should teach children English via TV It’s a short TV program aired yesterday. The title means “doors to awareness”. It’s about how people learned important things in their life. For Yuzu, going to Canada and having to communicate with his coach in a foreign language was a door to awareness of the importance of putting his thoughts into words. When he went to Canada he was learning things depending only on feeling because he could not communicate with Brian in English so well. So he started taking notes in Japanese, to digest what coaches told him. Then he realized that things he puts into words stay in his memory. Feeling is unstable and gets easily affected by the situation he is in. Words, on the other hand, is stable and don’t get affected by his surroundings. This awareness helped him to improve and become what he is now.

I would not be surprised if he needed time alone and away from competing after SCI. When you have doubt in your mind, you can’t just keep going according to your schedule. I think coming back for Nationals and Olympics is still one of his options, otherwise, he would stay completely off the ice like Mao did after JP Nats last year. Hope he will come back.

。。 Thank you for the tutorial! Third pancake!

Get better soon, Boyang! Waiting for you and Yuzu to come back in good shape and be able to show what you two can do at the Olympics. And Good luck, Jason! 2014 was the first year when I heard Yuzu’s name on the street came out from a mouth of stranger. She was a little girl about 4 or 5 and saying “Hanyu Yuzuru-kun kakkoii!” I cannot forget that snowy February morning.

Thank you for sharing! He spent almost half of his time for the message for Yuzu! He is so warmhearted. As for not correcting his Japanese, I think the person filmed him thought that the most important thing there was his heart to try to communicate and his message itself.

Boyang withdrew from GPF. Hope he will be able to focus on healing. ETA: another source

Movie of the news on Ice Rink Sendai

Reminds me of what Tracy said on Yuzu's R&J 1.0 in NBC broadcast of Worlds 2012. Compared to how he performs now he really looks a bit introverted here. I also remember that he said that people (coaches and choreographers I think) pointed out that he had a tendency to get absorbed in himself too much and that he should direct his awareness to outside world. (source: an article published on WebSportiva in 2015) However, I’m not sure if these have anything to do with what was said in Max’s podcast. And I think in LGC last season he was clearly be able to connect with the audience, and in H&L he was able to get absorbed in himself and open himself up at the same time.

Happy 2K+ pages and we are now in 2002, the year of Salt Lake City Olympics! (or the next year of the SLC, maybe?) Meanwhile, in Sendai, renovation of Ice Rink Sendai seems to have been finished. There’s a nice message on the welcome board: "People gather through sports and talk to each other. Voices of teammates, supporters, spectators resound in the city and invigorate it. The voices spread and travel, and the liveliness of the city attracts more people. Many people gather and improve each other, and it bears an international athlete (t/n: or "international athletes") His/Her/Their success encourages people and they become proud of their hometown. The pride is passed down to next generations, and the courage makes the future vibrant."

No, these songs were used for all other sports too. In Olympic broadcast, they don't prepare a song specifically for a sport. This is Fuji's theme song for PyeongChang "Hello Kagerou" by GReeeeN (Yuzu appears at the end)
-
There were several songs used as theme songs for Sochi since each broadcaster had their own theme song, though I remember only a few of them. (To the flowers in full bloom now) by Kobukuro (NHK) “Number One” (Fuji)

I'm happy that Karen decided to go back to her old programs because I loved her SP last year. (I enjoy Adam's FP too! I guess I have a weak spot for bird themed programs...)
