Hochi says he'll probably get to PyeongChang in mid-February.

Sankei http://www.sankei.com/pyeongchang2018/news/180203/pye1802030003-n1.html and Mainichi @KatjaThera refferred to https://mainichi.jp/sportsspecial/articles/20180203/ddm/035/050/110000c I'm calm. It's less than a month since he has gotten back on the ice, so this is probably good for him. I'll miss him though. But we'll see him in about ten days and we'll probably get a glimpse of how he's coming back in the documentary too...

Nikkan reported it too. https://www.nikkansports.com/olympic/pyeongchang2018/figureskate/news/201802020000833.html

Same. But it's almost 5 in the morning here, so if it's confirmed other media will also start reporting it soon...

Then the NHK site might be showing the time according to where you live. IIRC, you are in somewhere in Europe and @SparkleSalad is in Australia, no? Isn't the time displayed on NHK site on your PC or mobile 7:30 pm in JST by any chance?

XXIII Olympic Winter Games PyeongChang 2018 (1) Dec. 2017 - Jan. 2018 -
No idea what’s happening but I think it’s from 7:30 pm because there’s a news show from 9 to 10 on weekdays and other sources (1, 2, 3) say it’s from 7:30. So unless there is an urgent news or something, it will be aired after a news show ends at 7:30.

According to my recorder, the program starts from 7:30 pm. (The website also says it’s from 7:30 pm now. I don’t know how it was written at first, but maybe they corrected it?)

Japanese Nationals 2017 As we know, Yuzuru Hanyu withdrew from Nationals due to the injury he suffered during an official practice at NHK Trophy. However, before/during/after Nationals, we received some updates on his condition along with the news about his withdrawal and Olympic team selection. Following is a list of news clips include such news. I will attach transcription and translation to some clips as I did in NHK posts. However, some of them are not full-translation/transcription. This time I translated/transcribed official announcements, comments directly from people who had contact with him during that period (e.g. Yoshiko Kobayashi of JSF, Nobunari Oda). Clip 23 is an exception. It does not include an official announcement or a comment from those who had contacted him, but it includes a comment from Takeshi Honda who had suffered the same injury during his competitive career. In the comment he refers to an advice he got from Brian Orser at that time and it lets us get a glimpse of how they cope with a forced break in their training. The clip also includes a footage of Yuzu looking ahead to PyeongChang right after Sochi. Note: In some of these clips you will find doctors and therapists commenting on his injury but none of them have actually seen his injury. They are just speaking from their experience. -

It’s great for fans too, to have an opportunity to see skaters from such countries. It’s also nice to be able to see up-and-coming skaters from where figure skating is more popular. 4CC gave me the chance to see these two skaters for the first time several years ago (I wondered whether I should post these in 4CC threads or here... or maybe these have already been shared there) Kevin Reynolds climbs six spots for seventh overall at ISU 4 Continents https://skatecanada.ca/2018/01/kevin-reynolds-climbs-six-spots-for-seventh-overall-at-isu-4-continents/ Kevin’s comment after FS given to Fuji Elladj Balde at 4CC

Well, it does look tough to deal with, though sometimes he can help someone he wants to help by using it.
-
Anyway, I think it's a great feat. Staying on top for more than 4 years while dealing with injuries, illness, accidents, and fame.
-
3. Not like in other ISU championships, in 4CC all the participating countries are allowed to send 3 skaters/couples/pairs for each category every year.
-
Wow I love this.

Yuzu statues have already arrived at Kumamoto Source: https://kumamotofukkofes.com/?p=132 According to the source, the city of Kumamoto and the skating federation of Kumamoto city will hold a festival called "Kumamoto Fukko Fes" (My translation: Recovery of Kumamoto festival) and exhibit the bench in the festival. They say, "Come and see the bench!" They also say that they are very grateful for Yuzu knowing how he cares about the recovery of Kumamoto and that they wish him good luck in PyeongChang and will be cheering for him in Kumamoto.

!!!!!!!!! Thank you for sharing!!!!! AAAAAAA Hi Yuzu! How are you doing!!!??? Seems like this is the source of photo: http://www.city.kumamoto.jp/common/UploadFileDsp.aspx?c_id=5&id=18209&sub_id=1&flid=126295 Along with the autograph, seems like a Yuzu-shaped object (something like this?) is coming to Kumamoto. I often wait for someone better especially when the content of the text is important. It's also difficult to correct a mistake in English once I made it...
