Rough translation: In terms of functionality, I've had an opportunity to talk with speed skaters after PC and they said "If you use the new materials that are used for speed skaters suit, it would help you skate in more ease. You would definitely be able to rotate more" Since I'm interested in functionality of costumes, we've had really good conversation then. I'm sure if we used the same materials as them, it may be able to help us spin/rotate easier. However, we have rules concerning costumes and also figure skating has aesthetic side to consider so it may impact on the expression of programs therefore it is almost impossible to use such materials for our costumes. Not just that, the material would emphasise the body line too much therefore I'm afraid even if the materials with pattern, it would no longer be called figure skating. Yuzu! Your UA is already barely legal so if you skate with costume made with speed skate suit material, I'm sure that would become a weapon of mass destruction.... He knows, he knows exactly what we're dreaming thinking...

I use this one https://www.4kdownload.com/?source=videodownloader They are also free and let you download the subtitled ones as well.

FTH...that's a crying shame I had downloaded that video about 2 weeks ago but that's not the same as all the comments from people all over the world had gone as well... that is just so not fair!!

I believe the athletes themselves do not hold grudge against one another just their fans make thing so complicated and ugly. Also some media's using the disharmony among fans to make money on that's what I hate the most. Daisuke and Yuzu, they both are/were Japan's top skaters for years and they both know exactly what is like to be in the position. It's really JSF is the source of all evil. I really hate the mentality sometimes that they have to "Obey" all the rules though some rules don't make sense. The poster of this news フモフモ編集長 has his own blog and it's really wacky sometimes but I love it. He's a dedicated fanyu and it's fun and some of the stuff he posts is really out there!
-
What did you do to cross post my post in general yuzu thread to here!? I always get disorientated after that Anyway, I agree with the above about JSF should send younger skater to get more experience at WC. If Kazuki's result at the national is higher than Keiji then Kazuki will be chosen but if not, I think it will still be Kenji.

I think this is a bit so this is my last post about it... For Yuzu, with or without Daisuke or whoever, will just do his absolute best at any given competition and circumstances. For JSF to not choosing Yuzu is just not an option. Yuzu is the current WR holder as well as the ISU world standings no3 and won 2 GPs and the goose that lays golden eggs (or cash cow or whatever) for the entire FS community. Can you imagine the outrage worldwide? The pitchfork leader would be ISU and JSF will suffer the consequences in the future if they did. People making noise do not have a say in deciding who gets to go to WC and that is why they're trying to make as much noise as possible.
-
Sorry I think I'm wrong about Nagakubo san from Touhoku. I couldn't see the photo at the back ground so I assumed the person who took the photo was the 3rd Touhoku person! Thanks for correcting my mistake

Antis gonna make noise no matter what so just think they are that annoying drain pipe keeps making gurgling sound in where they belong...

It is a bit crazy to think Daisuke may become eligible for the world if he podiums at the nationals because he doesn't have the minimum TES that ISU set within the eligibility for the world championships. Daisuke hasn't competed a single international competition this year so it's not realistic. If he wins the nationals and wants to go WC, he'd have to go to 4CC to pick up the required TES then. But I really don't think Daisuke is thinking that and I don't think he can beat Shoma to win the national title. His fans desperately want to see their hero wins I know but figure skating has progressed so much in the last 4 - 5 years and Daisuke knows that too. It is hard for even the current skaters to keep up never mind 30something-once-retired-come-back-to-finish-the-unfinished-business. He will have tough time if he has to compete internationally. What Dai didn't have is saying good bye to his fans in front of them to finally complete his competition life. I hope he gets that at the nationals rather than trying to stretch it to the WC that happens to be in Saitama Japan next March...

The caption says "An awesome person came (to the photo exhibition)" then "Touhoku 3 shot" (means Yuzu, Ohtani and Nagakubo Harimoto all from Touhoku region). ETA: Harimoto who is in the background photo is the 3rd Touhoku sport person.

Never in a million years have I thought to see Yuzu and kancho in the same sentence...well... thousand years of death. The one I know is shichinen goroshi (seven years of death). It's an ancient technique you know

When I see what Yuzu does for figure skating at not just on the surface level or the pointy end of the sport but at deeper and longer term like the foundation of its future - the younger generation, it makes me realise that it is already happening that his legacy is carried on through these young skaters into the future. Antis or gossips that had created commotion lately will not even make a dent on Yuzu's achievements or who he is and the legacy. These young skaters are the answers to all those people who refuse to see the true value of Yuzu's contribution to the sport. Nobody can deny the history that have been created and the future that are being created by Yuzu's skating. We should not react to things with emotions that could create embarrassment for Yuzu or for ourselves. We really need to be wise and more level headed. Just laugh at antis but don't try to fight with them. Don't attack an innocent poster who happened to have captured the cave boy footage. Get reality check some time to see if your feet are still firmly on the ground. If you see 10 bad posts, create 10 good ones and ask your fellow fanyus to do the same. A bad cause will create a bad result so make a good cause. We don't need to be Yuzu's protector but just admire him even more! I'll choose to fight that way

Miscellaneous Translations Compilation Thread
BWOZWaltz replied to yuzuangel's topic in Translations
Not really sure how to post a particular post from another thread so I just put the relevant YT video. This was requested by @Dreamer. Before I put the translation, I just put some background of this radio interview. It was broadcasted in August 2013 (2013-2014 Olympic season) ANA World Air Current sponsored by ANA. Yuzu's got ANA sponsorship earlier that year and it was after the WC 2013 where Yuzu finished in 4th place bringing 3 spots for Japan for Sochi Olympics. He had to skate with twisted ankle and had to really put out everything to get to 4th place (he was 9th place after sp). The radio show is hosted by violinist/musician Taro Hakase. His insight as a musician gave this interview more depth in terms of questions that were asked. It is really interesting and I've enjoyed translating. I hope you guys enjoy reading it too Because it's rather long, I will divide into sections as that's more manageable when you read. Part 1: This is how it all began Part 2: Skating is part of his daily life (and playing games) Part 3: His idol and R & J for Sochi Part 4: Moving to TCC Part 5: Training for 120% Part 6: Toronto and Yuzu Part 7: Rice - the Japanese soul food Part 8: Ice quality and skating order Part 9: Pure skating moment Part 10: What's behind the scary door Part 11: Sochi Olympics Part 12: Skate for life Listening to the radio interview, both Yuzu and Hakase-san were having so much fun laughing together. I also felt Hakase-san's genuine affection towards Yuzu and his words of praying for Yuzu warmed my heart I hope I didn't make mistakes on copy and paste but if you spot something strange, please let me know. Enjoy!!- 69 replies

I have finally finished the translation of this radio interview. I think I'll post it to Misc Translations Compilation thread. It is 9 pages long in Word document format so not sure how long the whole post will be...and it will take some time to finish posting it so bear with me...

This is 2014 - 2015 season world team trophy EX - PW then encore Ballade no.1. This was the year that the horrible accident at CoC happened. Yuzu skated Parisienne Walkways as if it were for a competition in front of the home audience. After the performance he said "God that was scary!" (緊張したー!)He wanted to perform "clean" exhibition. Shi-chan (Shizuka Arakawa) in commentary and the announcer were talking about if this was in real competition, how much point would it get. I immediately thought of the day 2 of CwW - PW in Etude costume. Just remembering how he looked more matured as a skater and as a man nearly killed meYuzu at CwW gave us the glimpse of him in the years to come beyond competition days. I know we are all so desperately want to know Yuzu's condition but we will know only if he's willing to share that with us. But unlike pre-PC, I am not worried in terms of his intention. I have learned that Yuzu will not leave things unfinished once he said he'll do it. He is a man of his word so if he says "I'm going to land 4A" then I believe that will happen. He also said "I'm not retiring (yet)!" after CoR so I'm believing that as well.

Sorry to interrupt the regular program...my YT recommendation today after watching Rika's programs... One of her coaches Mr Yamato Tamura in his heyday

I think this is an old one but I like it so... This is what happened when god was creating Yuzuru Hanyu First of all, talent for figure skating then strong mental power then never ending challenging spirit. Then a little bit of cleverness and feminine feel...bit too much but never mind and an appetite for food...oops. And finally love for Pooh...uh oh... Hang on, there's more... First of all beauty and cleverness...oops. Incredible style and skill..oops. And competitiveness...uh oh...never mind, then fashion sense for private clothes... Splosh... ETA: Wow my rank is now Notte Stellata (I don't remember the progress after my rank hit LGC...the competition threads do make you post like crazy...) Dearest Yuzu, I will pray for your ankle recovery to the Southern Cross. Don't worry about us we will wait for your return. Thank you for thinking about us always.

Well...if Daisuke finishes in 3rd place then maybe but I don't know if he can podium there... I mean Shoma, Keiji, and Kazuki are going to be there you know?

And above Lewis Hamilton!

I LOL so hard seeing this. I LOVE it! Rika doesn't send out the killer vibe but she definitely has that killer instinct when it comes to her jumps. Yuzu will have to let the axel sister takes care of the JNATS. ETA: Old video uploaded recently.

Yuzu withdrawal syndrome is a chronic condition known to be common among people who are used to witness "extra special" figure skating performances in major fs events on regular basis. The condition worsens when the suffer witnesses "okay" fs performances. Only known remedies for the condition is to hit "replay" button multiple times on the videos such as: ** insert your own choice of Yuzu video** ** My choice of video **
