The tree is still small but will grow much bigger and will have more flowers bloom in the future just like the seeds that Yuzu had planted on fs ground will flourish in future skaters. Nurture and give them time to grow into what they meant to be. Hana wa saku and Hana ni nare.

So Shey is going to choreograph Rika's sp for next season.

I just can't believe we've only got to see HYK twice as a gala ex program this season. I know we've seen it plenty of times at FaOI but as a competition exhibition gala program, only twice... Maybe not so much nowadays but traditionally, when Japanese say hana (花=flower), it usually means cherry blossom. Short life of the cherry blossom flower had inspired so many authors/poets/artists to produce art pieces. When I watched HYK @WC2019, it reminded me of this short poem which was written by Fumiko Hayashi: 風も吹くなり 雲も光るなり 生きてゐる幸福は 波間の鴎のごとく漂渺とたゞよひ 生きてゐる幸福は あなたも知ってゐる 私もよく知ってゐる 花のいのちはみじかくて 苦しきことのみ多かれど 風も吹くなり 雲も光るなり Translation: Wind blows, cloud shines Happiness of living a life drifts like a seagull bobbing between the waves in the ocean Happiness of living a life, you know it and I too know it well Life of a flower is short and full of hardships though Wind will blow, cloud will shine The beauty of the cherry blossom is heightened by the shortness of its life. We see the life itself and its beauty in the flower. That's why we appreciate so much while we can. End of WTT marks the end of fs season and I feel mixed emotions right now. Some positive and some not so positive. But all and all, it made me realise why Yuzu is so special. When he's in, the competition becomes alive. His skating creates moments and times that people will remember and cherish for years to come. It is not just a program that he performs but it becomes an experience. How many skaters can give such intense 4mins in your life? Life of a flower may be short but an image of the beautiful flower can live forever in your heart as long as you live.

I believe as an athlete, to be on constant diet is a part of the deal and it is just a everyday thing to consider. Boxers go through strict diet in order to stay in a certain weight range. So when athletes talk about their "diet", it is slightly different from what we non-athletes talk about losing weight by dieting. It's more overall of how much protein they need to eat in order to control muscle mass and what type of diet is more effective and so on. Skaters need to be careful on weight gain especially if they jump 3/4 revolutions jumps as increased body weight would add more impact on their legs/ankles. I didn't feel any regret or desperation from Zhenya on the diet in the interview. She looks much happier and more confident. I'm really happy for her that she'd decided to go to TCC. And when I think of Yuzu and his "diet", I realise he really is an out of space alien who is not bound by many earthly restrictions...

Yep. Private/public selection is working now. Thanks!!

Yes. The bookmark is back!! I can use my saved bookmarks as well as saving new ones. However, it looks slightly different to before. It doesn't have public or private selection?

Oh well...it looks like that was a sign as I've posted this just the other day on "What music are you listening right now?" thread. I strongly recommend Yuzu to wear Canadian generic fs costumes with a knitted cardigan or jumper

If the above tweet is the same as the below, the newspaper says primary school not middle school.

The skate boots are the only ones with his hand-written autograph (直筆サイン入り). The others are his autograph printed (サイン入り)

Uncle Majorov is from Sweden...considering they've invented surströmming, natto probably isn't so bad in terms of smell...

Oh no...I can't access my bookmark either! Also bookmark button itself doesn't appear on the comments.

I cannot think of equivalent gesture for sarcastic air quotes but can suggest "棒読み" (read in a monotone) which is an internet slang. You use it like putting "NOT" after the sentence to negate the whole effect. "This is perfect...NOT" So "かんぺきー(棒読み)" means saying "perfect" in a sarcastic way.

Idea of beauty differs from person to person. What's norm to someone could change over the time as well. And you'd need a courage to accept something that is outside their belief. People can be very defensive and dismissive when they see things that can threaten their own belief. But the people who know what other people believe is just as much as important to them as their own would learn to respect it. I'm not talking about religion but for some, the smallest disagreement could end their world or something that they absolutely have to defend, or so it seems. I don't have time for those people who actively discredit someone or something because they don't recognise its value. You can admire something or someone without disparaging others. Appreciating something can be shared with many others but finding something beautiful is essentially a very personal experience as it is subjective what beauty is to someone. I don't need anybody to tell me what's beautiful and what's not as I'm capable of seeing it myself

Joking aside, I'd love to see Yuzu bringing back rock program for EX. He should really unleash the full power of "rock god" aura to kill us all for once and all. Trashbag pants and LGC hair together with hiprolls will surely kill me and no amount of GOE can award that. Honestly kill me quick and kill me NOW

The shiny ring around his head is called/know as 天使の輪 (angel's ring = halo) in Japanese. His hair looks so healthy because he had to wash his hair clean to get the hair product off after Origin...

I've watched the interview and read the Japanese transcript but I couldn't find the part "he has many secret weapons that he now has to use in the free program" so that could be a super-translation (超訳) ...?
