Day 3: 3 4CC silver medals...(plz don't hit me)
-
Tsuzuki sensei is concerned about Yuzu's health with 4A knowing what's involved to achieve it. He probably feel responsible partly for Yuzu's 4A dream because he was the one giving young Yuzu with the idea. This time around, Yuzu's dream doesn't have the set date like the past ones. For us to get excited or get scared over it is quite natural and if we can share these thoughts with the fellow fanyus, I think we can cope better with all the ups and downs. However, I'm not really reading anything on Yuzu's words or the program itself. As much as we are not sure, I don't think Yuzu himself can tell you more than he's already have. But one thing I'm sure is that whatever the coming year throws at me, I'll just grab it with all my heart.

I've also seen an article with Tsuzuki sensei talking about Yuzu and 4A. His words about Yuzu being at the edge of becoming the first man to land 4A. https://www.jiji.com/jc/article?k=2018122800778&g=spo Rough translation: I don't know what's his thought about me telling an axel jump being the king of jumps but he is exerting himself to jump a quad axel so I believe he is at the last part of the course and the culmination of his figure skating life. I feel he is standing on the edge of becoming or not becoming the first man to land four and a half revolution. It is inevitable for him to one day hang up his skating boots. I really hope Yuzu to fulfil as much dreams as possible before he finally says good bye to his competitive skating days. But considering his ankle and everything else, it is not for us to decide when is that time.

Yuzu's video was shown at Kohaku Uta Gassen while Sekai No Owari performing Sazanka.

Reporting from CSI fanyu division I saw someone's tweet about the hotel room that they've interviewed Yuzu being a suite room in Sendai Royal Park Hotel. So I've checked up on it then...it matches with an executive suite of the room layout, sofa, cushions, table, the painting on the wall, and the door. https://www.srph.co.jp/stay/floor/garden/index.html?page=suite This was filmed in Sendai + his visit to school with two gold medals, I am sure the interview was not filmed within this season but more like before the season started, July or something. He's done P&G CM with Matsuoka san in summer and his hair length (fringe/bang) looks very similar to the ones in that CM. The narration was added after the interview when they're editing to make the whole thing into the program so mentioning of his current injury and his hope for the next year is appropriate. The word 来年 means next year but the year 2019 includes both the current fs season and the next, you could say for either...

Happy New Year!! I hope 2019 is a wonderful year for you guys. Thank you so much for Planet Hanyu and all the satellites. My life as fanyu is complete because of you. 2018 was a real mix bag for me personally but there are moments that I will never forget as long as I live. Hope Yuzu's 2019 is full of fun, happiness, and laughter.

This is now OT so I have posted a link of Boyang's fs in Team China thread under Igloo World: Team Other Skaters. So by posting this Yuzu video, my post is not OT...140 seconds of Yuzu 2018 https://mobile.twitter.com/corszk1220/status/1078993499670798336

Yuzu's high school (Y12) teacher Nakatsugawa sensei on Yuzu's ability to seek out answers by himself. Nakatsugawa: As I've been teaching for years, I can pretty much tell straightway by just looking at someone if the person can put in the hard work or not. (So when I saw Yuzuru) I could imagine that he'd be able to get closer to the world number one. Narrator: Nakatsugawa sensei is specialised in mental training. One day he asked Hanyu if he needed any help in mental training and the answer shocked him. Nakatsugawa: He replied "I'll train by thinking by myself and put my own try and error effort into find the way" Hearing that, I was sure that Yuzuru was aiming for his goal using his own way of thinking and making effort towards achieving it. Narrator: Yes. His ability to work things out by himself is in the foundation of his success. Nakatsugawa: Making necessary adjustments by try and error is the ability to work things out. Yuzuru was brilliant at that. Nowadays, the ability to think things out by yourself is really hard to come by. Narrator: So how did Hanyu put that ability into help him in figure skating. The second part is told by Tsuzuki sensei. Narrator: Tsuzuki sensei is one of the mentors who taught Hanyu in the early days. He'd taught Hanyu when he's 8. Tsuzuki: Yuzuru possessed brilliant mental abilities since he's quite young. Out of the abilities, his sensitivity was off the chart. Narrator: His acute sensitivity had prompted his development with a help from a big shot athlete. Tsuzuki: Yuzuru watched numerous videos of Plushenko performing since he's young. I'd imagine Yuzuru had immersed himself in those videos and explored Plushenko's movements and expressions that way. Narrator: His admiration for his idol didn't end there. He used that to think and help his own development. For example, one of Plushenko's signature move - Biellmann spin which is an element that is hard for male skater to perform. Hanyu had worked out by himself what to do to master the skill and had achieved it. Tsuzuki: Yuzuru was a kind of child who sees something, he'd feel and get something from it then he can put that into an actual thing. I believe that's one of the factors that had promoted his rich growth. ****** Yuzu is a skater with insane talent who can put incredible amount of thoughts into many things. He gets inspirations and try to put that into the actual thing by working out how to achieve it. I already knew he's one of a kind but he's truly amazing...

NHK 8K PC highlights.

Before opening the post: And after: But at least gone to the (table) heaven now...

Sorry for being a (gold) party pooper but Yuzu didn't say smells more gold on the PC medal. He said 「平昌の方が金属臭いかな」this means he thinks PC (medal) has more metallic smell. Now 金 is gold but 金属 is all metals and often means iron/steel in general. So if Yuzu wanted to specify the smell of gold, he'd said something like 「金(kin)の臭い」 But as the tweet on @LadyLou's post, gold does not have smell so whatever Yuzu was smelling, that is not gold smell

Just few more days and this amazing 2018 roller coaster is finishing its course but no I'm not getting off just yet 'cos it is continuing into 2019!! Thank you Yuzu for being who you are and never cease to progress towards your ideal and beyond. Like this video, your "work in progress "is already an art form. We all know how lucky we are to have found you in this world

https://this.kiji.is/449951256058512481?c=39550187727945729 Daisuke is not yet retiring and would like to continue if possible. He's showing an appetite for the next season. However he's not planning to compete further within this season. He was asked by JSF if he's ready to be selected for WC team Japan but he's declined because he could not convince himself that he's ready to take on the international (skaters). When he's asked about the future plan, he's replied "Today's performance was very kuyashii for me. I've found myself thinking I should be able to do a little bit better. I'd like to finish (my competition career) without feeling regrets" So come next season, we may see Dai and Yuzu in an international competition...

May all the satellites' be healthy and happy for Christmas! Santa will look after our mushroom boy well. I have given up my Christmas wish for someone else so he can have everything he needs to make his wish come true. Have a safe and happy Christmas!!

I believe a certain planet that has a giant ice rink and also a forest that produces yellow coloured bears endlessly and not to mention a special arrangement with the gravity to allow someone to take a position in an angle that nowhere else is allowing. The name of the planet, you've guessed it, is Planet Hanyu.

1 million EURO for Helsinki GP. Hanyuconomy brought so much more than just money. People's memories of the GP is priceless.
