  1. I don't know how laws are in Japan but pulling a stunt like that in America would be illegal.
  2. How in the world would they be able to get clearing for that? That's very much an invasion of privacy.
  3. Sometimes it can be. If you think this is confusing though, good luck understanding exactly how Grand Prix assignments work.
  4. There's only one, at least major, competition left of the season and that's Worlds, which he has already withdrawn from. So yes, he is sitting out the rest of the season to heal up his ankle. When he will be back for the 18-19 season is a big old ? right now and it depends entirely on how healed his ankle is by the time Grand Prix assignments are ready to be handed out.
  5. Wait, a suit that fits?! That'll never happen.
  6. I've heard of the whole Sochi gala situation where people thought Yuzu intentionally attempted to harm Patrick but that fell entirely down to last minute changes that the choreography team made and didn't seem to realize that putting a skater between two people doing butterfly spins was a bad idea but I haven't heard of really anything else you mentioned in your post.
  7. Thanks for hosting, Sally!
  8. I won't be able to stay for the whole thing, since dinner is a thing, but I'll show up for as much of it as I can!
  9. Wow, a 5 hour session. Definitely would be a good deal for the money! I think the reason why it's so cheap at my local rink is because there are hockey teams in the area that the ice is maintained for in the winter months. There's also some ice lessons and ice shows. If the ice is being maintained might as well make profit elsewhere as well. I don't know if the free admission deal will carry over into this coming year, I sure hope it does though. I wouldn't leave either! There's actually been times I needed to be shooed off the ice because the session was over. Re: Falling. I've fallen quite a bit while skating, not even from trying to do fancy tricks but just trying to get my speed up, and I've found that the falling part doesn't really hurt very much. This is also probably because I'm wearing a hoodie, if not a coat, and two layers of pants. I've found the, not really worst but hardest, part of falling is getting back up.
  10. That's honestly the most adorable thing I've seen in awhile. Ci
  11. Welcome to the Planet! :9:

Thank you! Glad to be here :)

  12. Reading about how much it costs for y'all to go to a local rink I guess I'm lucky I live in a rural area. It only costs me $4 to get in for a single session, which I think it 2 or 2 1/2 hours and $1 to rent a set of skates. That deal will also only get better since with the student ID from the university I'll be attending in the fall, I get free admission for any public session.
  13. I reacted the same way when I heard that! I also just started flailing around because that's just what I do sometimes and my sister just looked at me and said "What are you doing?"
  14. I don't think there's a distinct place for it, however there are individual forums for skaters from other countries. You might be able to see some videos in the forums in "Igloo World" but no guarantees.
  15. I managed to turn my mother into a fan. It wasn't even for the Olympics either, I sucked her in during the SP of Helsinki. Some days we just spend hours watching various programs of his. POTO is her favorite.
  16. Patrick Chan officially retired after the PC Olympics. idF sounds terrible, particularly with the plastic medals. I'd gander that Yuzu will likely be going to SkC and NHK if he's able to, and chances are despite being out a majority of the season his OGM will make hosts want to invite him.
  17. I don't think any speculation or hard news has come about him possibly going to Milan as a spectator. I personally don't think he would attend because doing so would kind of take the attention away from the skaters competing and put it on him merely by being there, which is something I can see Yuzu trying to avoid. The people competing, even if they may be alternates, have worked hard to be able to compete there and I don't think he'd want to take the attention away from them, where it should be. It's a possibility that that's where some of the hostility is coming from but at the same time it seems unlikely. Figure skaters move to other countries to train under coaches from different countries all the time. It's pretty much normal to do so. Plus whenever a skater changes coaches and/or moves to a different country it's usually because they feel they've gone as far as they can under the coach they had and are moving to continue to better their craft. In the end isn't that what people would want for an athlete representing their country, to do whatever possible to improve themselves?
  18. The USFS likely wouldn't want Yuzu there since that would make Nathan getting the gold there less likely. Since Chen has started on the senior level Yuzu hasn't competed at SkA. I did a general google search to see how many times he's competed at SkA and he's only gone there once (2012) so it's probably VERY unlikely he'll get assigned to SkA, solely because he's hardly ever gone there. CoR and NHK seem to like him though, NHK isn't surprising and it's likely a preference of Hanyu's.
  19. Whoops I accidentally misread the question and answered the wrong option. I just saw the "how did you become a fan of Yuzu" and just saw the season years and none of those worked for how I became a fan of him. Like many others here on the forum probably, I got introduced, or rather reintroduced, to figure skating through the anime "Yuri on Ice". A few episodes in, I decided to look up the schedule and see when events were and who were men's figure skaters who were currently competing that were really good, and of course I saw Yuzu come up a lot. Funny enough, the 2016 Grand Prix Final in Marseilles was the very next night so I decided to give it a watch so the first program of his I saw was Let's Go Crazy. While that program wasn't clean, I was absolutely mesmerized by his performance. A couple days later I saw his Hope and Legacy program and was completely won over.
  20. An appreciation post for Yuzu's Biellmans.
  21. That actually is a really pretty charm and I kind of want one now! @cinemacoconut I watched a couple of the videos and they are really nice quality! You've got a new sub.
  22. What the hell did I just watch?
  23. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCWjfgAyjuCtn1UEOgyMMHiQ/videos Is this your channel?
  24. I believe it was said that all of the people who pooled their money were employees of the company from all over the world. That's really good to hear they're going to put the boots in a place that gets lots of visitors so they can raise awareness about 3.11.
