  1. To quote Brian when talking about Yuzu's quads, "his flips not very good so he's not going there...."
  2. Hmmmm... Maybe its the styling but I don't really think it suits him? It looks messy on him imo. Not a fan!
  3. Brian actually did say that, in an interview about Worlds 18', when talking about Yuzuru and Javi not being there, he was saying how it was cool how when they were on the ice, the other coaches would be watching them instead of their own students. She was just pointing out how it can sound completely different in a different context.
  4. I don't want a recycled LGC, but I would LOVE if he would skate to another song in that style! 1) It really suits my preference, 2) His sass and attitude in LGC and PW gives me LIFE, and 3) I'm tired of random people I'm showing Yuzu to just shrugging him off because classical music is "boring". *facepalm*
  5. Everyone coming out with the 150s and I'm here feeling like a colossal giant at 174....
  6. 1) any movie is very very far in the future. Way way way after he retires. Who knows what the movie landscape will look like then! 2) we really have to be reasonable with our expectations. Hollywood runs on money. If they make a movie, it will be for the general public. The general public neither cares nor knows about even the most basic of figure skating technical aspects. Crossovers what? Edges what? Oh yay jumps! Any Yuzuru movie will be focused on the drama and the struggles not on skating. It will heavily exaggerate one or two moments and centralised it around that. Maybe throw in one big rival. Haha all I'm saying is be reasonable with the expectations. Hollywood doesn't actually care about accuracy or figure skating or the accuracy of portraying figure skating anyway.
  7. I just realised something. Does anyone even do a 3A as the second jump in a combo?? I mean.... most men can't even land a good one as a solo jump, is it even a thing to use it that way?
  8. What if ... In a case of life imitates art, that ends up his music did next season?? Tun tun tun tun!
  9. Wait... I'm taller than Yuzuru?!?!? Also... that moment around 1:09 when he just sat there with his head in his hands.... I wonder what he was thinking....
  10. Is Stephen's 3A that good? I mean I don't actively search up junior skaters so I've only seen a bit of him really but they didn't look particularly large or high or fast to my admittedly very untrained eye? (All I basically do is compare everyone's jumps relative to Yuzu's....)
  11. Nope nope! I very much like his current never-out-of-the-top-two thing he has going! One of my favourite shove it in their faces arguments for those . . . . Poorly informed. . . . People who call him "inconsistent" Ah..... I must have missed this interview. I mean, yeah I knew every jump will be taxing on the right ankle (hence please recover and rehab first Yuzu!!) but I guess I thought 4A might be less taxing than 4Lutz for the ankle... since pushing force vs landing.... Ah maybe I just pulled that thought out of thin air....
  12. I thought that the consensus was that we might well see Nessie before the return of madam Lutz because Nessie is less taxing on poor Mr right ankle?
  13. Is it just me or does that number sound too low considering Yuzu's fandom size, esp since they opened international orders? Or maybe they are practicing the spirit of restraint and that's exactly how much more money they need to raise.
  14. Hmmmm very interesting selection of athletes..... esp given that it's a mixture of summer and winter Olympics. Three figure skaters. No Shaun White. Hmmmm.
  15. If Yuzu would just spend forever in LGC hairstyle, I would not be at all adverse....
  16. I hear what you're saying, and I see where you're coming from, but I respectfully disagree. I personally feel it would be mentally healthier and thus actually produce better skates and results if Yuzu had a more stable mentality. Perfectionism is wonderful, and an absolutely necessary trait in the truly great athletes. But too much and he tenses up too much and it becomes a mental (and physical!) block. Brian Orser himself says that Javi is more relaxed, and hence competes better. And after H&L Worlds 17'? Brian and Tracy were telling him "You seemed calmer... less intense". If Yuzu was, to quote Brian Orser "less intense", my guess is he would be producing more consistently clean skates. Yuzu knows his stumbling block is purely mental. His team knows his stumbling block is mental. I just happen to agree with them. And to your point about his SP lead (or lack there of) determining his FS, more stable mentality would mean that it didn't matter what standing he was in after the SP. Up against the wall, or far in the lead, or just a minimal lead. I also think we know that he said he skated the last skate of Worlds 2016 Boston thinking that he might be his last? So not quite the first time he's felt like he had a career ending injury, but clearly he felt it again now. And in both cases he felt it was career ending and decided to power through anyway. The difference being in 2016 he choose to do it alone, hiding it from everyone even his team, but now he had his team with him every step of the way. Agree with the whole strategy at PC bit. I came across this tumblr post yesterday (after I wrote my piece)by our favourite realxmonster that sums up nicely my opinions which are different from your last paragraph: http://the-real-xmonster.tumblr.com/post/172540138619/because-i-dont-believe-in-perfection-what-flaws (the part about what she thinks her greatest flaw is). And personally speaking, I actually would love it if he was consistently rewriting the record books ala 2015 actually. But of course, Yuzuru is Yuzuru. He is a whole, growing, changing person. His personality and decisions are his own, and I will support and love him regardless of results or medals.
  17. Interesting read, as always with a Yuzu interview. (And yes, thank you @gladi!) It's even more interesting to contrast what he said then with what he's said in post-oly interviews. You can really tell the whole surmounting this potentially career ending injury has left it's mark on him. The one that really stood out to me was how at the start of the season he said he is never satisfied or happy with a result even when he goes clean for both SP and FS, and he expects PC to be the same; but after the injury (and winning PC), he said for the first time he felt satisfied and content with how he did, because he felt he had performed to the best he could at the time. I'm so glad he's gotten that! An expensive lesson, but if he could keep that shift of perspective and moderate his extreme self criticism and perfectionism, I personally think it would only be good for his skating.
  18. That's honestly the best I'm hoping for!! I wonder whether it will feel like it did watching him on PC ice where I was just so relieved to see him skating and missed seeing ANYTHING of him at all that I was happy watching him do even just his stroking exercises but anyone else find themselves wondering at random times of the day what Yuzu is doing right that moment? Or just generally in his rehab. Is he still just "on ice"? Is he doing stroking exercises yet? Is he planning his programmes??
  19. As in the site itself or the Yuzu fan base portion?
  20. Where is this from?? I have either never seen it before or the shock erased it from my memory!
  21. Yuzu looks positively diabolical here... . . . . How even. What. I. Don't understand. Yuzu didn't win by like a point or two such that you could argue there was some form of possibility of a different results. Freaking 11 points margin like what.... (I'm not aiming this at you obviously. I know everyone on here knows this. Just expressing my disbelief)
  22. As some others already mentioned, I'm sure there are some really rude comments from "fans" out there. Not that I've ever encountered any truly rude ones. But also, I've noticed some Nathan fans tend to take not gushing over Nathan as being equivalent to being rude/harsh/unkind. Unfortunately it's come to the point where sensible constructive criticism is viewed as a negative since clearly only positive support is allowed to exist. . . . FROM WHOM???
  23. I have found my daily dose of tea....
  24. *cries at the lost possibility of Yuzu being in this and us seeing more Yuzu x Orser interactions*
