  1. I have this horrified fascination with CoC (cause it's so painful but also so amazing to see how he fought through it), so I've watched the crash, the warm up, and the kiss and cry multiple times, but only managed to get through the actual programme itself like.... maybe twice? Maybe only once.
  2. At first it was cool. Then it got funny. At this point I'm just rolling my eyes at the Olympics channel....
  3. It's really a headache. How do you give marks according to difficulty, (hence duh quads are worth much more than triples, and level 4 spins etc) but also push the agenda of a complete skater and push for a greater emphasis on spins, stsq, chsq? Just throwing this out there for the thoughts of much more experienced satellites. May sound like a completely ludicrous suggestion. What if a level 4 spin was equal to a triple loop? Would that be very unacceptable given the difficulty difference? But it's not like getting a level 4 spin is a walk in the park either.... was just wondering, if you set the highest possible marks for each non-jump element as at least equal to a higher level triple, and you make it so a poorly executed quad is worth less then an EXTREMELY great spin/ stsq etc, do you guys think it would help or hurt? Is it even fair?
  4. https://m-oonb-aby.tumblr.com/post/173331083775/jump also... OMG SO ADORABLE HOP LIKE A BUNNY ZUZU!!
  5. http://beautifulsouls-devotion.tumblr.com/post/173352701072/yuzu-is-going-to-be-in-faoi-yesss-this-is-such MISHA IS GOING TO BE THERE!! THERE IS HOPE FOR YUZU INSTA VIDS OF REHEARSALS!!
  6. Does anyone know whether the stops were already sold out prior to this Yuzu announcement? Just hoping that many satellites still managed to get tickets! P.s. yay @SparkleSalad !!!
  7. question. everyone's been focused on the changes to jumps, so I haven't seen much other information floating around. Is there any sources on any changes to spins, steps etc? Honestly, part of me thinks that unless they make a significant change such that spins and steps are valued to the point where they play a more significant portion in marks relative to jumps, none of these rules really make the sport "less quad jump centered". A major point currently is that some skaters can just discard skating skills and spins etc and just rely on jumps (quads specifically), and make it, because the BV of quads are just so dang high compared to the other components. Until they balance that we're not really getting anywhere in terms of systematic pushing for a "perfect package" skater.
  8. Also.guys. do we actually know what Yuzu was so caught up with at the party that he was late and had to parkour and naruto run his way to his seat?
  9. Watch him do that and then all the judges be like... What the heck do we do now..... And Yuzu be like
  10. I honestly really dislike the whole concept of oh we have to change things to "level the playing field". All that does is penalize those that do exceptionally well and reverse penalize (by giving favours so they don't actually improve) everyone else. It's just ridiculous. Everyone should just be judged based in their merit and hey guess what, if that means some people are far ahead of the crowd, just what's the problem with that? What's wrong with there being a huge gap if said gap is reflective of ability? Why the overwhelming urge to act like it's kindergarten again and everyone has to be equal and everyone has to be a winner? (I'm exaggerating for sarcasm but you get what I mean) (The discussion on what is merit in fs aka quads vs everything else is a tiresome, well worn argument at this point)
  11. Even if it were true that he has been seriously training Nessie for many years in secret (which I doubt. I think it's more likely at the longest since summer 2016), it's the simple fact that he is currently post career ending injury and his ankle is simply not up to any Nessie training for many many months to come. 2019/20 is the most realistic (at the earliest!!) imho for non-YOLOing inclusion into programmes.
  12. In all honesty, announcing intentions for 4A and quints.... That's legitimately at least four seasons worth of work. I mean, unless he's a lot further on then he and Brian are letting on, Nessie is at least 2 seasons away. And he hasn't even started practicing quints right?
  13. Yuzuru: has such accurate control of centrifugal force that he can do a camel spin from the one leg and launch himself into the air from a standstill to rotate 3.5 times in the air, or control the movement and momentum of complex transitions to launch into quads. Also Yuzu: can't ride a bike. Somebody stop this crazy person. I want him in one piece omg.
  14. MUST!!!! CONTROL!!!! MUST KEEP IT PG13!!!! Deep breathe in. Deep breathe out.
  15. Thanks for the clarification Much needed because I don't altogether trust Yuzu to do what the doctor advises. ><
  16. Advised you to stop skating for rehab? For a month? For a year?? FOREVER??? can he just... like.... not keep giving me heart attacks....
  17. What kind of man are we stanning that Twitter (and the rest of us) goes crazy over a single decently fitted suit Other fandoms: oh he looks so hot! Wow that's a *x brand name* suit. Omg the cut looks good!! His hair! His face! His jewellery! (If present) Us: OMG WE CAN SEE HIS SLEEVES THIS TIME. THE SUIT FITS?!?!
  18. If Yuzu removes his 3F he won't have one of every type of jump since 4F isn't happening. Wasn't there something about him wanting to keep having every type of jump?
  19. Hmmmm... Obviously can't speak with certainty for anyone besides myself, but from what I've seen around, I think a lot of the dissent around Nathen Chen is not against him as a person but 1) judging panel favouritism, 2) biased USA media hype, 3) personal dislike for his skating style. Like everyone seems to think he's a good kid, but wonder why on earth his coaching team takes him in the direction they do, hate the ridiculous PCS he gets, and hates the media hyping up stuff. So I don't think as many satellites hate Nathan as you think. They just hate everything else around him.
  20. And....it's sold out! (No I don't actually know whether it is. But it will be. )
  21. I'm sure Yuzu is well on his way to planning two masterful programmes. I wouldn't be surprised if he has already at least chosen his music and maybe even started working on choreography. He either already has or will calculate every single jump combination and arrangement possibility that he can fit according to the new rules that maximise his scores, probably producing multiple versions based on how his recovery might turn out. He'll most definitely figure out how to still fit as many transitions as possible and gain his spin levels as well, within the shorter time period. Since he can't do the on ice work, you can be dang sure he's doing the brain work. In short, I'm certain that his crazy research and table and calculation oriented brain will find a way to capitalise on these new rules.
  22. Why are you killing me like this ..... Why....
  23. Hmmm I seem to be the only one who didn't read it as capitalizing on Yuzu personally but on the potential for public support, with Yuzu being used as an example....
  24. Lol Jack! No no...they clearly need to save that for a rainy day when their clicks and views are at an all time low..... Lol I'm both surprised and not surprised?? Cause that means that not only was practically everyone out on the streets, anyone who wasn't was watching on their TV?? Or maybe just ALL the businesses had it to the parade stream lol, whether there was anyone in the shop or not!!
