  1. nice! loops don't travel as much compared to toe jumps, i think
  2. I'll try to get to it later but if you have a 100px cropped gif from this I can upload it faster

  4. I wonder if a local charity or children's center can send wishlists of what they want beforehand, and fans can package it up and throw it on the ice in support of their favorite skater, but afterwards be collected for the charity. Toys, books, packaged food, baby stuff, diapers, holiday gifts, etc? This way, lots of gifts can be thrown on the ice for a skater, but it could be what the charity/center actually needs (instead of say, a thousand poohs and bouquets, which is nice but maybe not exactly what children want). Of course people can still throw stuffed animals, but this might be a way to fill up the rink after your favorite skater and help out local charities
  5. Sad. It honestly feels like she just got here (to the senior ranks, to the collective consciousness of the skating community). She was a rising star in Pyeongchang, but then a year can go by and suddenly you're a veteran and thinking about retirement. The skating gods spare no one; they giveth and they taketh away Anyway, I wish she can get her world medal and have no regrets, but it's only gonna be an uphill battle from here.
  6. Thanks for your input! I can try to put together something soon. I won't have photoshop on me this weekend so I'll try to do it early next week.
  7. maybe the professor is a satellite
  8. Glad you liked it ^_^ I guess if we want to do it, the main questions are: 1. What pictures of Yuzu should we use? I just chose a random one that fit sort of the long horizontal format. We can also choose a couple designs (maybe Otonal, Origin, Seimei, Chopin..?) 2. Should the heart just be a heart ascii or something more stylized?
  9. There are different types of cheering. At ACI (not this year) there were two girls next to me who screamed "YUZU!" at the top of their lungs for about 20 minutes straight (no exaggeration) while we were waiting for the medal ceremony. Yuzu finally turned around and waved at them, after which they stopped screaming. But however uncharitable it is to assign personal interpretations to his expressions, by the look he gave, I'm pretty certain he was annoyed, if only in that moment He was standing with his coaches, so it's not like he could have gone somewhere else to escape the noise. Now, should we discourage that sort of behavior? I dunno, most of the time there's no harm done. Yuzu is used to it; I'm sure it doesn't REALLY bother him. He's been through worse. But from his interviews, it's clear that there are times he would prefer if the audience were a little more respectful. It's basically as direct as he's ever gonna be, IMO. If we wait for him to be even more direct about this (or anything), I think we might miss out a lot on what he's trying to say between the lines. But this is totally different from normal cheering during the competition. Cheering at the top of your lungs when he takes off his jacket/when his name is announced/after his program/after seeing him land a beautiful jump? Cheer away.
  10. These are beautiful, thank you. I wonder if "Love Yuzu From __" and a sharpie marker for people to fill out where they're from would work, actually. So the place they're from can be semi-visible from a far, and we don't have to print 3947502943 different banners, we could just print maybe 3-4 different costumes or something. (i didn't spend that much time on this one, just an idea)
  11. Yeah, the main flaw I see is a bit of a hammer toe, but in general we have to accept that not everyone is gonna jump the same exact way.
  12. She does tap pretty low, but since you are supposed to tap with your bottom few toe picks for a toe loop (unlike lutz/flip), I think this is only a bit worse than ideal picking technique. I wouldn't take away from it being a really good 4T especially for a lady, and her air position I feel is especially good for quads jumped by women.
