slaloms are hard; can you do swizzles? they are easier but ultimately the rhythm is the same if you want to practice those first. but, to answer your question, the momentum/speed comes from your knees mostly. so while you are on the leftmost or rightmost part of the slalom you should be on bent knees and rise up as you come back to center and down again fast as you enter your next slalom. the deeper your knee bend the more push you get which translates to speed. it also means your slaloms will curve more deeply. i think if you try bending and rising up on your knees while rhythmically while doing slaloms you'll get the feeling eventually!

That said, I can only see Medvedeva switching countries if Eteri somehow pulls something to never allow her to skate again for Russia...which would be downright effed up if she does, but i can see her threatening it, and Evgenia threatening to switch countries in return....

He just said that it was a question whether the young girls will keep their quads and that health was important which it is...and could apply to his own skaters too especially if they are doing quads as well. Nowhere did he say that anyone should stop doing quads.

He didn't say "Eteri, don't let your skater do quads" he expressed concern about skaters' health and said she might not be doing them at 17/18. Which, you know, maybe he felt the same about his own skater?

She said that Polina Tsurskaya does not really fit her model because she is too tall and more "voluptuous" as you put it, but they decided to keep her in the group anyway (presumably because she is talented).
