I agree that contacting skaters and asking about Yuzu is a big no no and we shouldn't try to contact or visit him in private in any way, or any other skaters, other than through officially sanctioned methods. But we shouldn't make generalizations or attack different groups of fans, unless they violate the aforementioned above. It's perfectly fine to only follow Yuzu, or to not know much about skating. Most fans are introduced to the sport this way and it's very natural. Lots of fans are young and don't know any better either. Of course we shouldn't tolerate anyone violating skaters' privacy but we should also be open to all types of Yuzu fans it is a site for Yuzu fans after all.

His Biellmann is one of my favorite spins!! People are saying his Ina Bauer isn't good? I think Yulia and Shizuka gets a better back arch but Yuzu has crazy hip turnout and speed into his Ina and his layback is pretty good too, even compared to ladies' skaters. Flexibility isn't anything and everything .. (and he is pretty flexible anyway, we're literally comparing him to the bests in history, who are also not male skaters...his back is better than Yuna, fwiw, and she has a beautiful layback Ina Bauer regardless)

Not 100% sure but this is a sports digest kind of program. It is referring to Yuzu in FaOI doing jumps (3A). I don't think you'll see any new stuff it looks like a sports news show on Sunday morning.

There are ways to make it look more "normal" but if he were going that route to begin with, he'd be wearing something completely different. Honestly, I prefer this...go all out
-
Does he design these costumes? Because if he does he DEFINITELY has a career in fashion! (this one's even wearing skate guards) TBH I think Yuzu is more avant garde than the above.

Proposed changes for next season
yuzuangel replied to Yatagarasu's topic in Knickknacks: General Skating Chat
Yeah, I agree that top skaters right now and up and coming skaters from big Feds will be fine. If you're already Yuzuru or if you're already Javi (although it remains to be seen if he continues to skate, and if he does, what his level is), then your reputation is already set and judges won't deviate too much on your GOEs/PCS. But if you're an up and coming skater from a small fed who isn't heads and shoulders ahead of everyone else....then yeah, you might be screwed. -
4CC isn't an important competition. Except for 4CC 2017, of course, that one was more important than Worlds I tell you!

Proposed changes for next season
yuzuangel replied to Yatagarasu's topic in Knickknacks: General Skating Chat
It's not a new thing that they make rules targeting a single skater or a group of skaters for winning too much. Although I have a feeling the Russian ladies won't suffer too much from that because they have a strong Fed backing them, even though it would be a lot easier to change rules to "level the playing field" so to speak for the ladies event. But after Vancouver, they made a couple of rule changes that were directly targeting Yuna. They made it so that you could only repeat 2A once (before, you could repeat doubles as many times as you want). They also changed the GOE scaling so that instead of getting 3 points for +3 GOE, you got a scaled value depending on the element. Yuna famously made up for any base value deficit with GOEs (and the 3rd 2A). They also increased the value of the 3A, which helped Mao, her main rival (although Mao had other issues in the years following Vancouver). After 2006, they changed the rules so that you couldn't repeat spin positions, after Shizuka used like three donuts in one FS. So honestly, it's A Thing. I think it was controversial back then, too, but what I find funny is that their lack of proofreading makes their intentions obvious. If they had the budget for an intern or two they could have made it less obvious.- 685 replies
