Erm, the bolded part is an inaccuracy - the jumps were always before the ChSq. They were probably thinking of H&L. Triple axel was technically changed into a 4T but maybe the ordering isn't exactly the same. anyway, the triple loop was there in the 2016 version but he did change the layout around to make 3 quads / 2 3A's into 4 quads /1 3A. Lol, agreed. Don't really get the "be yourself" message from Adam, but maybe I'm not his target demographic

Hasn't he complained that the swan costume was too heavy, and they had to get some crystals removed? And then some japanese fans found old pictures of his costumes, and he was right, the crystals were gobsmackingly huge?

I think even the New York Times has factual inaccuracies that even the average figure skating fan could point out, lol. But somehow I'm not surprised that Adam's costume is $5,000, his thing is literally just crystals. Lol

These click-baity articles/videos are notoriously unreliable. I remember seeing somewhere that his R+J2.0 costume was like $3000. That sounds about right and actually on the high end for a costume. These costumes are shiny but swarovski crystals are just glass, lol, albeit pretty multi-faceted glass. And it's not like the actual cut of the costumes/dresses are really anything difficult to make.

I...don't think it costs that much. Swan costume has sequins and feathers but it's not like, made of diamonds and sapphires or anything. $3000-$5000 is more like it.

Long train of thought ahead... I think that it's likely he won't do NHK and SkC this year, as he didn't do them last year, and this year he's not even seeded. According to this post on GS, Nathan is going to IdF. So if Nathan goes to IdF, and Yuzu does SkC + NHK, it puts Shoma in a hard spot because Kolyada will go to Rostelecom, and that leaves Shoma to be doing Cup of China and NHK OR Skate Canada and Cup of China, of which both options are back to back events. I doubt as the World Silver medalist he would be forced to do that nor would JSF force him to. Shoma could do SkC + NHK which means he'll meet Yuzu at both events. It's not exactly optimal. This means that either the insider info posted on GS is wrong, or Yuzu doesn't do SkC + NHK. It's dumb for JSF to assign Yuzu and Shoma to the same GP, but if they must they will assign them both to NHK where they can control the scoring a little, and also because $$. BUT if Yuzu does NHK, would NHK rather have Nathan or Shoma? I think they'd much prefer Shoma AND Yuzu rather than Yuzu+Nathan. Because obviously they'd rather have Kolyada vs. Yuzu, but NHK and Rostelecom Cup are back to back, so Kolyada won't do NHK. Thus I think Shoma will definitely be at NHK. That leaves Skate Canada to be Shoma's other GP. I don't think it means little at all. You may have a professor or teacher in your life who influenced you in a life changing way, someone you may even name your kids after, but you don't hang out or chat with them on the phone. I think their relationship is more like that. Yeah, but don't forget, Yuzu is also a very modest and sometimes self-deprecating person

oh my god this really gave me an adrenaline rush, even though i already know the result... that moment between "the scores, please..." and "Shoma Uno has earned in the free skate...." was an ABSOLUTE. ETERNITY. and yuzu, clapping and cheering in the green room, while waiting for shoma's scores...that moment must have felt like a thousand lifetimes to him, yet he can show such sportsmanship, he really is superhuman. wow. i can't even.

Not to hang out but kinda for everyone to have something? Because a big gift might not be shared amongst *everyone*. But I can see how a gift of lots of $10 giftcards may seem...weird. Anyway, the idea about the items from each satellite's home country sounds super sweet and thoughtful. It sounds more personal than giftcards. Maybe we can have someone in Canada collect a bunch of little things from satellites all over the World? And then mail it to TCC (I don't suggest visiting, as it's a private club, and they don't really allow visitors per se. They might let you in with a gift but I think they'd much prefer if you just mailed it...just IMO).

Yeah we can make a banner! Not sure if we'll get enough messages for an entire book, but certainly we can try (with the caveat that we need enough messages to fill a book...lol...would be sad if it was a very blank book ) A small amount of fanart would be awesome, too, but it shouldn't be just yuzu fanart. As for the starbucks giftcards, are there starbucks in toronto? I thought tim hortons was like, the starbucks of Canada haha? We could get 10-20 $10 giftcards, just to make the point that the gift is for the whole team, bc god knows how many people are involved in creating champions. my friend in toronto also suggested the Toronto Zoo and Ontario Science Centre, which he said was fun not just for kids for for adults too, but for people who live in Toronto they may have already been (but maybe someone hasn't?) And I think we could definitely do miscellaneous food items, like cheese! Although it'd have to be factory wrapped because (1) it needs to be mailed, and (2) who wants to eat it otherwise?? Haha
