  1. There are some really great banners but one of my favorites is a crack banner and I do want that to be one of the top 5 because I kinda want that theme now.
  2. If he ever got unanimous +3 GOE on all his jump passes, average +2 GOE (1.00 applied GOE) on spins, +3 GOE on StSq4 and 49 PCS, it'd be around 114, yes. Big if, though.
  3. Yuzu's thought process for Olympic year: "Everyone kept saying I had an Olympic moment at NHK 2015, so let's actually have an Olympic moment at the freaking Olympics" *brings Chopin 3.0 and Seimei 2.0 back* Guy can get pretty literal. It's a joke. I don't even know if Seimei 2.0 is happening at all.
  4. Not sure it's been posted yet but Julia update:
  5. Unimaginativeness is only this high during Olympics. I'm sure good music choices will appear once people aren't shitting themselves about that one 'every-4-years' competition.
  6. It's still the Long Program, only 30s shorter than before!
  7. I kind of would like to see what he could do with less 30s and one jumping pass to eat at his stamina in the FS.
  8. I think he popped like a ton of the 9 attempts he did at WTT, before he landed that one 4Lz, which is why I'm like 'yay, improvement!'
  9. This is probably why I was so happy that of his 5 4Lz attempts today at rehearsal, none was a pop, at least seemingly by reports. Rotate and fall, dammit! Better yet, don't fall.
  10. Adding to those the earlier options I posted ages ago with the 3A2T instead of 3A2Lo. 4Lz 4Lo 3F // 4S3T 4T 4S 3A1Lo3S 3A2T - BV: 111.48 or use 4T2T and 3A or 3A2T and 4S1Lo3S 4Lz 4Lo 3F // 4Lo3T 4S 3A2T 4T1Lo3S 3A - BV: 113.13 I actually now want him to do the 3A2Lo combo just to change it up a bit for the judges.
  11. Yeah, that could be an interesting issue, though neither Boyang or Nathan seem to have any issues with 3Lz and 4Lz in the same program. And if he pops the 4Lz, the 3Lz will be replaced anyway by some repeat quad to make up points. Also, I don't think he'll risk a 3T3Lo combo because it's harder than just perfecting his 1Lo3S.
  12. I'm just like OMG, you have the ladies World Champion there, why u gotta make it about Yuzu too!? Give it a rest and just let the girl be!! But since I don't understand a thing they're saying, it's possible only the narration is that extra.
  13. 3A2Lo is a combo I never really considered in my layout speculation but if he were to try a 4T3T3Lo combo in a program, he'd either have to do two 2T combos, which would be very same-y, or try that 2Lo. The difference between 3A2T and 3A2Lo is about 1.53. Here's a full BV rundown of some layout variations, including old and new, but all of these with 4Lz because that's the only way he'd be able to repeat 4T and 3A in Max's examples, so I'm sure he's thinking of 4Lz in these layouts as well. 4-quad version: 4Lz 4Lo 3F // 4S3T 4T 3A3T 3A1Lo3S 3Lz - BV: 109.83 4Lz 4Lo 3F // 4S3T 3A 4T3T3Lo 3A2Lo 3Lz - BV: 112.03 5-quad version: 4Lz 4Lo 3F // 4S3T 4T 3A2T 4T1Lo3S 3A - BV: 111.26 4Lz 4Lo 3F // 4S3T 4T1Lo3S 4T 3A2Lo 3A - BV: 111.81 4Lz 4Lo 3F // 4S2T 4T3T3Lo 4T 3A2Lo 3A - BV: 113.46 (alt. 4T2T and solo 4S) Note: Add 0.22 BV to any layout where he repeats 4S instead of 4T
  14. I want to watch that show but they keep mentioning Yuzu's name all the time that I'm getting a bit embarrassed in Zhenya's behalf. Is Japanese media going crazy on the shipping too?
  15. Apparently the performance being broadcast tomorrow is the one from today's show. Good news is he did a wonderful 3A and 4T3T today. But he popped the 4Lo. So that might be what to expect tomorrow.
  16. Oh, I have no doubt whatsoever 4S3T will remain in the FS, unless he decides to upgrade to 4Lo3T or something. He conquered that combo monster in the FS.
  17. You guys say this now that I've kind of fallen in love with the 4T3T right on musical cue. I might miss Chopin 3.0 if he has a new SP, who'd have thought!?
  18. Oh yeah, 4Lz would be better in terms of the BV itself, but nothing guarantees it'll help the final score more than the layout with 4Lo because, well, it's a new jump with the added issues that'd bring. His goal is to start off with a clean SP as often as possible, I suspect, so as much as I'd love the 4Lz in SP, I'm not expecting it, even if it would make sense with 4T3T's return (as in, get a trusty combo back in order to afford a higher risk on the solo jump). I'm still hopeful for a 4Lz in the FS, though.
  19. Technically, 4Lo 4S3T // 3A has better tech than 4Lo // 3A 4T3T if you go by the jumps themselves, but the 10% bonus on two jumps (4T and 3T) do make for a BV improvement. Better yet would be if 4Lz was the solo jump but that's more of a hope and not a demand.
  20. Apparently Shoma may end up backloading his combo and 3A as well, according to some tweets of his SP performance at FaOI today (he used the triple versions of the jumps there). So updating the numbers I'd had before, we get this: 4Lo 4F3T // 3A - 51.55 BV 4Lo // 4F3T 3A - 53.21 BV Shoma has taken some of Yuzu's strategies to heart before (all combos in second half of FS, two 3A combos) and it's being very effective for him. To note though: Shoma is risking a lot with this SP since he's not actually had a 4F3T combo done in competition yet. I'm not quite sure if he's done a 4F combo either.
  21. Chopin is still my favorite of his programs and that 4T3T right on the note in yesterday's video is absolutely perfect (kind of what I'd hoped for the 4S3T in H&L that was never meant to be).
  22. I did wonder why people didn't backload two jumps in the SP because it's only 2.30 mins, which is basically the first half of a FS, but I think because of the very strict rules of the SP, which will cost a lot if anything doesn't meet its requirements, skaters aren't very keen on taking too many risks there, including saving too much stuff for the second half. I mean, you notice how Yuzu was basically the only skater actually using his combo as the second jumping pass and not the first (edit: Shoma is the only other, I think)? People want to get the combo done first, which helps if you mess it up since then you have a second jump you can attach it to. Having the combo as the second jumping pass is a risk that kind of bit him in the ass last season but it's a strategy he's been following for a long time, back when he did 3Lz3T in the second half, and the only comparison in risk I can maybe find in the top men is Boyang doing his 4T in the second half.
  23. Whoa, I didn't quite think at the time my throwaway comment in the denial/anger 'grief stage' of the news would be a bit controversial (I didn't really mean it, you know), especially as I clearly reached acceptance phase in this whole thing by the end of it. I stated my reasons why the initial talk about Seimei 2.0 set me up in a bit of a mood so I'm not going to rehash them and I'm not going to apologize for the initial disappointment, which may still remain if he does Seimei with similar music cuts and choreo, because I think repeating two programs would seem a bit like an 'easier' way to upgrade tech, and easier is not something I'd usually apply to Yuzu, hence my initial reaction of disbelief. After some gym workout, I came to terms with it all, though (the acceptance stage), and was pretty chill about things before I woke up this morning and read this thread. Anyways, I do like other skaters. As a fairly new FS fan, Yuzu was the first skater I found and the one I got the most attached to immediately but I did find other skaters I liked. However, as Worlds SP showed me, no matter how good my other faves are, if Yuzu isn't up there with them, I won't be able to appreciate their victories quite as enthusiastically, so I'd never be able to root against Yuzu. I may end up enjoying someone else's programs more than his for this coming season, especially if he does a very similar Seimei again, but I think that's perfectly okay and valid. I know it's all part of the game and athletes make strategic decisions that may give them the most likely chance of winning, but we don't have to blindly like those strategies, even if we end up accepting them. Doesn't make you less of a fan. Similarly, we can be fans of bands or actors and still dislike some of their music or movies. Or fans of Yuzu and hate his costumes. Anyways, I did find that I might actually love the thematic thorough-line of his Olympic career if he went with mostly different musical cuts and choreo for a Seimei 2.0 program in the same way RJ2 was a completely different program to RJ1. But Seimei 2.0 is also just a rumor, anyway, so it may end up true or not. With that said, going to the FaOI thread to enjoy 3 more hours of intermittent news updates!
  24. Yeah, I don't think we'll see a 4A anytime soon! But I just wanted to point out that the rules don't really allow for the 2A/3A to be replaced by a 4A in the SP, because I'm not sure people know that when doing all these crazy scenarios.
