  1. Just a heads up: he can't actually use 4A as the axel jump in the SP. The SP rules require a double or triple axel. The only way one would be able to use 4A in a SP, with current rules, is if it is the solo jump or part of the combo. So 4A 4Lo3T 3A or 4A 4Lz3T 3A would all be valid (but not feasible) options but not 4A 4Lo 4T3T.
  2. Completely off-topic (even more so than the past 25 pages ) but @mcq hasn't been around lately, has she? I haven't seen her in forever and after today's news, I was actually hoping for her take on them.
  3. They just knew how to keep everyone interested in the full program for ratings.
  4. Plot twist: Yuzu will appear on tomorrow's show.
  5. Oh, I'm not complaining! I'm finding it really amusing this turned into a Japanese show commentary. I'm not following the stream for reasons but I'm cracking up at the live commentary. I'm imagining the lurkers going huh once they come check this thread at some point, though.
  6. I'm starting to think we should have a thread for this program; it's almost like competition streaming.
  7. I'm not watching the stream but reading the commentary is very entertaining.
  8. I've asked before if COC 2014 was the only time he skated the original Chopin choreography before changing it, but didn't he also skate at ice shows prior to COC? Anyone have any links to videos of that? I assume the ice show choreo was the original one (though he took out a walley before the 3Lz3T combo, yeah?)
  9. Game of telephone, I assume, and people speculating he might eventually replace the 4Lo for 4Lz, but not exactly during these FaOI performances.
  10. This doesn't seem to hint at changing layouts but at adding finishing touches to the performance, whatever that means.
  11. Well, then... Seimei 2.0 confirmed! When he said he wanted to go beyond his ideal, I didn't actually expect him to be so damn literal! Although I'm now chill, there is that lingering bit of disappointment if he does go for Seimei again, especially if a similar cut instead of something completely new from the OST. To me, Chopin and Seimei weren't things he did two seasons ago; they happened last November, when I first found him, so they're very fresh in my mind. The re-treading on the SP I can accept more easily when attached to something completely new for the FS. But a re-treading of both programs is harder to think as something positive because it seems to go against what I've perceived of his personality from his many past interviews. But, well, it's the Olympics and apparently in Figure Skating that means less experimentation, more tired tried and true. Unlike gymnastics, which is the sport I usually follow the most during Olympics, where things aren't played so safe. Edited for the typo, which was sadly fitting lol.
  12. What is Nomura Mansai?
  13. By the way, the only option I didn't consider above with the SP layouts was to have the 3A in the first half too (so 4Lo 3A // 4T3T or 4Lz 3A // 4T3T), which would give a BV of 50.16 and 51.76 respectively. The first option is not really that much of an upgrade, compared to both combo and 3A in second half or just adding the 4Lz.
  14. After burning some calories at the gym and releasing some serotonin, as well as your premonition, I'm now going to be chill until competitions actually begin. And will root for Yuzu even if as a new fan who came in at the tail end of his career, I'd hoped for many new programs to witness before the end.
  15. Yeah, agreed. I'm now going to go to the gym to workout the excess news.
  16. In this case, only and ONLY if the music cuts were mostly completely different and so would be the program's choreography. Then yes, then I'd say bring in Seimei 2.0. Edit: Sorry if I'm now going into gloom and doom mode but the Seimei speculation put me in a mood.
  17. Chopin 3.0 in preparation for a completely new masterpiece FS, yes, I can understand and accept and root for. But repeating two programs is just being lazy, so I don't believe it's possible. Yuzu isn't lazy.
  18. This doesn't fill me with any more confidence. The music will still be practically the same. Well, at least we can all stop worrying he'll go with David Wilson in this case! Silver lining?
  19. Okay, well, I guess if this happens, I'm actually going to think about rooting for someone else for Oly Gold. Sorry! Chopin version 3.0 I can stand, but going back to BOTH programs is... a bit hard to swallow and just re-treading old ground that's been done and won. What more could he do with Seimei he hasn't done before except for jumps? This seems unlikely.
  20. Can't say I disagree entirely, though Olympics is apparently synonymous with going safe and unoriginal. I'm just slightly concerned with the choice because I want it to be in preparation for 4Lz in SP and not as a defensive move to not going clean with LGC.
  21. Oh!!!! Now I must see this!
  22. From the videos, he had the same counter entry into his 3A as he had in Chopin 2.0, I think.
