  1. I think there's absolutely no way he'll do a R+J program again so I'm perfectly happy joking about it.
  2. Who was it who said he'd be the sheath this time in a R+J program?
  3. Yes, please sacrifice for all of us, thank you!
  4. Hyoen 2017 seems to be quite an experience....
  5. This was during the NHK 2015 press conference. Yuzu gave this really long, involved reply to a question, which took over 5 minutes, and basically the press conference had to end right after, so no one had much of a chance to ask or answer questions, and Yuzu was understandably embarrassed at monopolizing the time.
  6. The problem being there's not much of a BV increase in a layout without the 4Lz. He is severely limited there and it might require him to eliminate a 3A and even then the BV difference won't be very high unless he does 5 quads and repeats 4Lo. I'm not sure if a 5-quad layout with 4Lo3T and 4T1Lo3S, for example, would be any easier a layout than a 4-quad layout that just replaced the 4S for a 4Lz (and the BV on the latter would be higher).
  7. GPF 2016 in Marseille, in his jump battle with Evgenia during gala practice, he attempted 4T-3T-3Lo and 4S-3T-3Lo. Note that he didn't actually try the -3Lo as the second jump, only as the third jump in the combo.
  8. Even Patrick has remarked that he doesn't like the direction of 'moar quads!' but he'll go in that way as well if it's the way things are going because he doesn't want to stay behind either.
  9. And I think because -3Lo are very easy to underrotate because you have to jump immediately from the same foot you land the previous jump on without any assistance, whereas on the -3T combos you have the toe pick assistance.
  10. I've said this before in another thread. The best BV upgrade Yuzu can do right now without a single other change to his layout is to replace the solo 4S for a 4Lz and do a 3A3T instead of a 3A2T. That's it. BAM, from 103 to 109 BV. And THEN he has the freedom to add a 5th quad if needed, wthout sacrificing his two 3As.
  11. I'm not quite sure if Patrick is really going for a 4F. But he will definitely add the 4S to his SP.
  12. Yes. So would Javi at Worlds. But a higher BV does give you a cushion while a lower BV requires you to be cleaner. And if you can't be consistently clean on the lower BV....
  13. Yeah. The worst thing he can do is be complacent with a lower BV layout and trust that others will be making mistakes and that he won't. We saw how that worked for Javi this season. Patrick saw his Sochi OGM go down the drain because he was complacent against the kid with a higher BV but lower components. Yuzu isn't going to be making the same mistake, least of all because Shoma doesn't have the PCS difference to him that he had to Patrick in 2014 He can't and won't go into Olympic season hoping others will fail without closing the gap on them. He can't have the highest BV anymore, but he can make sure the difference isn't so insurmountably high.
  14. Nathan's BV is kind of already dangerously high, if we're talking about the BV he'd have had at Worlds if he'd repeated the 4F and 4Lz. Plus Nathan will be given better PCS than Boyang, someone else who will have very high BV with the 4Lo (and more so if he repeats the 4Lz). Sure, this doesn't guarantee they'll land everything and win, but their BVs will give them a very high cushion.
  15. He was also trying 4Lz in 2014. At the time, didn't he say he wasn't sure what the next Olympics would bring in terms of jumps, just that he didn't want to fall behind? He wanted to be someone who kept up with (and surpassed) the skaters at the top at all times. Right now, though, he is trailing behind in BV. So what next season brings is going to be interesting. Which is why I am crossing all my fingers his 4Lz will get better during the off-season because he may need the flexibility that adding such a jump might give him. And a good FS music choice that will be more consensual among judges and commentators.
  16. He looks so young and so cute! Pink really favors his complexion too.
  17. Yep. She's going head to head with Eteri's juniors. I'm looking forward to that battle.
  18. I'm actually most interested in what Rika Kihira is going to do next season. I kind of really want to see her land those quads.
  19. Boyang being cute with children.
  20. It bothers me more on the SP 4Lo. Shoma's 4CC 4Lo was quite a beauty (the only true good 4Lo he's had so far) so it deserved its GOE there, but Yuzu's SP SE-4Lo-SE not getting more than 2.43 GOE at Worlds (the same as his FS) made me very sad.
  21. But Marin also needs to deliver. No matter how commercial she is, if she doesn't do well enough compared to the other ladies, I'm not sure JSF will risk sending her. So no matter that she seems to have the capacity to deliver at just the right competition (Junior Worlds the past two seasons), she will need to be somewhat consistent from early on next season. So will everyone else, to be honest. I like all of the ladies, so I'll love whoever gets to go and be very sad for whoever gets left behind.
  22. Okay, this one is rather perfect. Finally a non-serious one! Loving all the planetary doodles. Love it!
