Team we're fewer but still good!
sallycinnamon replied to Yatagarasu's topic in Igloo World: Team Other Skaters
I also think it's risky but whatever works for him...He needs clean skates if he wants to get into the Top 5 and it'll be difficult to do it with a new program. It always needs polish and time to get used to something new. But maybe he had so many problems with the Rolling Stones FS after losing at Nationals that he really wanted to change it asap. I don't agree with the article that he may get higher PCS with a Queen medley though....had he skated clean with his Stones FS he'd have got higher PCS anyway (around 80?). It doesn't have anything to do with the new Freddie movie or Stones vs Queen, which one is more popular etc. Anyway, I am not the biggest fan of these medleys in skating even if I love British rock in general. The cuts in both Beatles and Stones medleys were a bit too abrupt, the fast and slower parts were a bit messy to me, and it's hard to perform to them imo. And with these Queen songs I think we may see a similar free skate again. -

They'll announce the date and location later, iirc the past few years the announcement was in late March/early April (after Worlds).

Maybe it's the final list for juniors+seniors but I haven't read anything about advanced novices. They might come out later. I think Y. Aoki and Y. Shiraiwa will compete in juniors (Yuna S. needs TES minimum for Junior Worlds), and Yuma is eligible in seniors but he might compete in the juniors too, I am not sure about this though. I'm still hopeful that the list is not complete yet and Shun will get an assignment too. I'm surprised about Shoma a bit, even if his injury is healing (or he's healed completely) two competitions in February seem a really busy schedule.

General Skating Chat
sallycinnamon replied to Yatagarasu's topic in Knickknacks: General Skating Chat
The ladies field at Europeans is not that exciting this season, it's always a bit like at the first Europeans this after Olympics, there area retirements, injuries or some skaters are not in their best form, this year four out of Top 6 at Europeans '18 won't be there (Zhenya, Carolina, Sotskova and Loena). But I hope that we'll see some good skates and maybe some surprising results - most likely not in the Top 3 but somewhere in Top 10. This season it'll be really easier to get into the Top 10 and secure two spots for next year's Europeans. The men's field is more interesting and unpredictable, I hope we'll see an exciting competition! I hope Javi can skate two programs which he'll be satisfied with. Then the three Russians will have a good chance for the podium and there's Michal, too who can score high if he skates clean. And it'll be interesting to see how others like Kevin, Deniss, Moris, the Italians etc will skate too and who can finish higher in the Top 10. In ID I don't think anyone can get close to P/C unless something bad happens to them but hopefully it won't. There's going to be a fight between the Russians for the silver and bronze medals. And in pairs it's going to be interesting if J/C can win this competition too or T/M will be better than them. I agree about 4CC, I am looking forward to it more too. The ladies field will be good and the men's are going to be exciting as well. I'd love to see Boyang skate well (I'm more hopeful after his skates at Nationals, he's a slow starter usually). Jun will be there too. I hope all these competitions won't be too much for him before Worlds.- 6,825 replies

Yuzuru Hanyu Magyar Szurkolói Sarok
sallycinnamon replied to sallycinnamon's topic in International Talk

Szia! Üdv a fórumon! -
Congratulate skaters with their Birthdays

Happy birthday Sota! -

It was at Worlds '13 and I think it was Ghislain.

It's just speculation, no one really knows what does in his free time in Toronto. They uploaded the video in December but they online made it public today? That's how I understood it.
