Should be around the 28th. Don't think that the whole CoC being swapped for either Korea or Milano will matter much so I think we're still set for the same date. Almost there.

Is Milano a candidate for GP no. 3? Gosh, why Korea why? Maybe I should really buy IdF tickets now...

wait, did someone mentioned another GP in Europe? possibly in MILAN?

OMG pease ISU don't play with my heart and my pockets 😱 I'm already trying to resist the lure of IdF.... if they put a GP in Italy and sell tickets before assignments are out I won't be able to resist:tumblr_inline_ncmif7esGm1rpglid: :tumblr_inline_ncmif7esGm1rpglid::tumblr_inline_ncmif7esGm1rpglid:

btw, I can see JSF wanting Nathan vs. Yuzu insted of Shoma vs. Yuzu at NHK... I don't think JSF would be so dumb to put its top skaters one against the other...tho they have done dumber things in the past:yznotimpressed: it seems jpn media love Nathan and they already had him there... tho of course they love Shoma too and he'd be kind of expected now... but I think if JSF could choose, it would go for Nathan vs Yuzu instead of Nathan vs Shoma or Yuzu vs. Shoma:dancingpooh:

btw even if Yuzuru is the biggest star, Shoma would have no problem in bringing revenues at NHK, Jpn fans love single skating.

Anyway, it's likely at NHK there will be some big showdown:tumblr_inline_n18qr5AMus1qid2nw:

I can see the reasoning for SC getting Shoma, as he's gone there last year + events calendar, but given most of canadians biggest stars won't be there, canadian fed will probably want some of TCC skaters there...and with Javi out of GP, their best hope to attract viewers is Yuzuru (I don't think Boyang would be that effective, nor Jun Hwan). Now, in Canada it's very, very likely Yuzuru would bring more revenue than Shoma, with his level of stardom and all. I was thinking Med would be perfect for SC, but in GP Gabby will be the top canadian lady and she'll likely get SC, so idk if Brian would be that thrilled to have both his charges there...

in all of this, I wonder who will invite poor Boyang :tumblr_inline_ncmifdw7151rpglid: SA seems a reasonable guess...

I doubt that this would happen at this point. Assignments are due next week, and so far they haven't even announced where the non-CoC GP is going to be. I kinda don't see them having a ticket site ready as soon as they announce the new location.

I hope so, it would really require top-notch organizational skills and, yeah, even if a GP in Italy were confirmed today, we couldn't ever be that efficient LOL

I hope ISU won't delay the assignment because of this whole drama

When CoC withdrew, the first alternate was S. Korea and the second Milano if Korea couldn't do it.

And from the rumors going around, it might actually be Milano.

And I just went there for Worlds. I was hoping there would be at least one more event in Asia I could potentially attend. Maybe the universe is trying to make me fly long haul again this season after all. Sigh.

It's why it's the alternate, I am sure. S. Korea due to the Olympics too though it has priority because certainly ISU also wants an Asian GP but if they're stuck they'll go with someone else who is mostly ready, and that's Italy.

We'll see soon enough, but hey what's a season without at least one long haul flight ;)

I’d actually be glad if it’s Milan because at least that’s more accessible than Grenoble for me

eta: nevermind, I just realized the undetermined GP is happening on my best friend's birthday so I won't be traveling anywhere regardless of where it's at:13877886:

I'll admit to now lowkey hoping it won't be in Europe so I can enjoy her birthday and not feel conflicted :embSwan:

Wonder if it will end up in Milano.

Recall reading a news update in Baidu, and verified later, that there was a statement that Korea and japan were chosen to replace the ISU GP events in China, and while Japan agreed immediately, Korea had cited needing time to go through its bureaucratic processes for approvals. And that should S. Korea say they won't host 1 or both of the ISU events given to them (1 FS event, 1 speed event), ISU may consider moving the event out of Asia. And the end of the article said that the ISU was welcoming bids from other feds. o_O

I imagine SKorea would take at least the speed skating event...

According to this : https://this.kiji.is/382816611918759009, the 3rd GP is likely to be in Europe. Dont know if they just speculating or knowing something behind the scene ?

I saw this too: http://www.sanspo.com/sports/news/20180622/fgr18062217510001-n1.html

at this point i think there's no way that the assignments have been made yet

who would get assigned to this missing GP if no one even knows what continent it's on?

This GP will be back to back with NHK. So if it is in Europe highly unlikely Yuzu will go. If this is true then Yuzu will go to NHK+IDF, I think. And Shoma will do Skate Canada+NHK. Kolyada will do New GP + Rostelecom. And Nathan will do Skate America + IDF.
