I'm pretty sure they meant the take off. Steps are a required element for a jump to be recognized after all.

I really try to make it a rule not to get too attached to juniors. But Kostornaia is making it pretty impossible. One plus is that she has awesome technique and that good foundation should put her in good stead for the long run. She really has it all.

I feel so bad for Alina after her FS, it must be so emotionally taxing on a 15 year old to have all that pressure to win gold at worlds right after you won gold at the olympics. I just hope she gets the emotional support she needs...

Isn't Eteri her coach? Why would she do that to her skater? (I'm a new FS fan and I don't know much about Eteri, just that she coaches Zhenya and Alina).

Eteri has a reputation of a very strict coach. She also sounds like this her interviews (for ex.: http://fs-gossips.com/eteri-tutberidze-during-the-work-pity-does-not-help/ ) But, in fact, we do not know what happens behind closed doors.
