I know you are all upset about Wakaba's chances for GPF (I am too ), but at the moment I am more upset for Mai

Mai is still very much in contention for the actual prize this season, which is the Oly spot. Nobody making the GPF means the starting positions are reset. She has to clean the Nationals but as nobody made the GPF, she's not as disadvantaged as she would have been, had Wakaba made it. Now it's all about the Nats. Mai has the SP issue that she had here once again but her FS is more than solid. She just needs that SP clean. Her PCS in Japan are good, and higher than Wakaba's. Then ... pray I guess. Because we all know the drill. There is a third name in this game, and I am afraid that name might make all the difference. We'll see. Nothing to be done now.

Was this before or after the coach snatched the Plushy away from Alina. :waffle:

You have to keep the sponsor's name visible.

Yeah I figured when she pull up the jacket to show the name on it.

Overslept and had seen this abomination. Maybe I'm still asleep because this is a nightmare!! There might be no Japanese lady in gpf!? Hosted in Japan!? Because of this b*llsh*t way of scoring!!! :tantrum:

*walks out while cursing ISU and JSF in all the curse languages I know :smiley-angry020:

I think.... I'm done with FS for now. Even if Wakaba miraculously pulls it in to GPF, I'm just not interested at this point. Judges made it clear they don't care about quality and treat Japanese skaters(minus Shoma) like sh*t.

I want to stress abt if my favourite skaters will SKATE well, not if my favourite skaters will be SCORED properly.

*sorry, incoming rant*

well, judges I'm really disappointed with you LOL, what's new. :t2:Mai's PCS are just

(and darn I was betting on Kaetlyn's PCS but for once you decided not to throw them through the roof)

I was masochistic enough to go and read the protocols and darn, Mai really doesn't get any boost from high TES and clean skates. An the old thing that judges may have been stingy on her PCS because she had the misfortune to draw first to skate in that group is bs. If judges were employees in a company, they'd all be fired long ago for being too dumbass slow to adapt to the new scoring system. The hell, more that 10 years and we should still be resigned to the seme old bias!?

Mai has enriched her program so much in TR during the season but her scores don't reflect that at all. The program is composed beautifully but her CO is still low. And I really think the judges must really love that super emoting with the facial expression (which I often dislike, because it's often a really superficial way to interpret a piece) and conveniently forget that this isn't figure miming but figure skating:facepalm:

*end of the rant maybe*

That said, I'm sad for Wakaba having now so little chance to go to the final. Maria really earned her spot tho, she worked hard and she's skating consistently clean since september while upgrading her jumps with tanos, so kudos for her, even if she isn't my cup of tea.

Yuna is doing well, she's a pleasure to watch and I like her fs a lot (her dress and hairdo too)

Kaetlyn's jumps are really  impressive when she lands them, too bad today she wasn't at her best. But her black swan still troubles me, in particular I can't enjoy her stsq, I just don't like her movements and expression there.

And kudos for Alina and her grit. She has impressive comebacks. But her pcs... some components...compared to other skaters... oh well.:slinkaway:

imo the assignements for jpn ladies were detrimental. I can't avoid thinking that Mai or Wakaba could have done better in NHK and SC (or SA) than Marin (just turned senior) or Satoko (coming back from injury). Then you add the whole scoring mess and... :tantrum:

Now all the jpn media attention will be on Shoma, the last jpn hope, and with the final being in Nagoya the hype and pressure on him will be huge. Maybe this can help him as a preparation for the Olys pressure.

Btw there will be one junior lady in Nagoya, Rika!

tbh jr ladies is the event I'm really looking forward at gpf, and then senior pairs (crossing my fingers for S/M and J/C to be there, too) and ID (let's see who are the judge's favourites for Olys).

Also, watching the medal ceremony right now. Don't they usually replay the fs music? it's so strange to hear musics for each medalist which are NOT their fs:waffle:

ETA why are they receiving some strange star thing to hold instead of having a medal at their neck?:slinkaway:

ETA 2 looks like french fed has been sparing on the flags this year too:smiley-laughing021:

ETA 3 the flowers look better than in Marseille tho (more flowers and less wrap)

Oh hell no, they really made the stars PINK????

so.. the men will get blue ones (and maybe green for pairs?)

I think Kaitlyn can be happy about her third place (can't say bronze medal :smiley-laughing021:), she won't have to worry about finding a place to put that giant plastic pink star with her other "real" medals

 At least star colors seem to be predictable... when podium placements aren't
