dear god those stars look even cheaper up close :13877886: how do you not die of embarrassment when you have to hand that to someone as a prize in a high-class international competition. I've seen handmade kindergarten trophies that looked better.

They used up all the embarrassment with the coasters last season. It's a free for all now.

Next season? Plastic sky is the limit.

Plastic is so bad for the environment, though. Why not just give the medali.... the podium people something useful? Like some croissants? Or maybe Brie cheese for first place, baguette for second and croissants for third. If the podium people are nice enough to share, the skaters can even have their banquet this time, right after the medal cerem.... right after the ceremonial food distribution. (maybe I should go back to my idea with the T-Shirts. In comparison, that sounds far less ridiculous now)

Cheese. They could hand them good cheese. Not skimp on it either as France has great cheeses. And make it those round ones.

Yeah, ok, T-Shirts do sound better .... now watch next year they really do hand them some plastic food nonsense. I'll blame that on you, I have had no part of this. Nuh uh. None! :slinkaway:

Help! This disaster is ingrained in my head even when I sleep. Just woke up to a terrible nightmare where Yuzu is participating in this event next year. The recyclable podium ever present and the flags still absent. The winners are given 1pc of flower each. The medals are still missing. In it's stead is a color-coded notebook (gold, silver, bronze) with plastic cover. In front of it states "I've been in Internationaux de France 2018 and I got_____! (gold, silver, bronze)" What has my mind concocted!?

Catching up (in no particular order):

1. Mai: How is it possible that both Mai and Wakaba skated their FS better in their 2nd GP assignments and got lower PCS??? WTF is going on?

2. Alina: Her PCS are ????

3. Lil'Bet: Congratulations on the PB! (with this I hope TCC curse is broken) Her mum is a delight as always!!

4. Yuna: Robbed of PCS

5. Masha: Not my fave but kudos to her consistency.

6. Kaetlyn: I was rooting for her this time :tumblr_inline_ncmif7esGm1rpglid: (Wakaaaaaaaaa). Seriously though, this swan FS really doesn't fit her at all.

I'm holding out hope for Wakababy.... Truly, out of all the ladies (yes, including Medo) she deserves to be in the GPF the most. Both of her performances at COR & COC were outstanding.

The ladies skate LP way better than SP. Highlight performance for me is Elizabet. Not a fan of her, but this is clearly her best performance. And her mother is so cute

I feel Mai skate this program better at COC, but I love her SS and jumps. So light and effortless. The 3lz3t in 2nd half is superb. Idk why her PCS didn't rise despite skate so well in 4 comps. I dont like this program, I know the choreo is genetic and she's not the best performer, but still, why other skaters's pcs rise when they skate well but japanese ladies didnt have it ? She was robbed of bronze 2 times in a row.

I enjoy Alina's 2nd half as usual, but to get almost 70 pcs with this program is such . She might get 75+ if she clean at Oly  Judges clearly want to push the rivalry between her and Evgenia. The Sp's mistake didnt effect to her LP score at all, unlike some other skaters

Compare to Osmond's standard, her LP is not bad. I still think swan lake is not a good choice for her, she looked quite heavy during the performance. I think the problem comes from her arms, its so stiff.

Yuna is so lovely. I like her SP. The LP's music cut is not good, the same with choreo. But her skating is so smooth and the way she move across the ice is so natural. Her smile is everything :smiley-love017:

I thought's GPF's logistic last year was bad enough, but France really outdid themselves. Truly amazing. How can you give a plastic star to skaters, some of the best in the world ?? What's next, an e-medal through app ? Come on, the metal medal is actually quite cheap, even sport's event of my university have it.

About Wakaba's GPF spot... well, more reason to cancel this whole GP series ( maybe minus COR)

Glad things picked up in the FP.

As for that pink star: :dancingeggplant:

I only just saw it here, since I hadn't watched the victory ceremony yet, and thought it was a present Alina had gotten from a fan at first sight. I'm amazed.
