It’s from sns so pretty vague, just several people mentioning that it’s because of injury, not her intending to retire or anything. Nothing suggests anything long term. I reviewed the rules though, if she withdrew due to injury, the Olympic selection points will take into account her CoC result last year, so she still has a shot!

For Olympic team selection for all fs categories, there is an accumulated points system. You earn certain points with your results from all comps this season, A or B, international or domestic, depending on the importance of the comp & your ranking. In the end the one with the most points goes to Oly.  

 

Zijun is currently behind because she didn’t go to any Senior B (I don’t know why), while Xiangning won silver at Nice. She withdrew from CoC, and the solution is to calculate points taking into account her result there last year (which is actually better than what one expects her to get this year with the lineup). 

 

While all categories implement these rules, the only one that holds any suspense is the lady’s. Zijun’s position as the favorite has faltered since last season, with  her own downward slope and Xiangning’s solid senior debut. 

 

 

The time is really flying  ... we are already at the 3rd GP, soon the Christmas will be here and JNat and then ... God, I don't even want to think abt Olympics, yet ...
