If a high, wide, fully-rotated and landed on one foot jump is in itself to be marked as +2... what will happen to the 0 and +1 GOE and how much will one need to do to earn +3-+5? They're basically moving the ballpark to +2 instead of 0... so +2 will be a normal jump? Will +3 to +5 require creative entry/exit/steps/rippon/etc?

That kind of begs the question, what's the point of a 0 or +1 GOE then? Especially if SO, Two foot etc require an automatic neg GOE. You might as well consider those 2 points in GOEs non-existent. And besides the point, the issue is judges tend to just reward automatically GOEs on quads for certain bullet points, such as height, speed and distance, regardless of the jump height, simply because it's assumed a quad jump would require more of all three (and here I thought it had to be standout compared to the other jumps of the same difficulty). Judges also seem to see more "good flow on exit" than I do.

And while Lakernik didn't say about ties to BV, it seems that Bianchetti is the one who mentioned the ties to BV?  So which is it? I think if they don't automatically tie it to GOE, with a BV deflation it might balance out to be almost 50/50 TES/PCS. But if you tie it to BV...checking my data, the final difference between jumps in TES is even higher. And I don't think it'll discourge guys from going for risky jumps...they will drop their lowest value jumps, and I guess for some it's the 4T. The difference is enough that in order to do well, men's have to have a consistent, stable 4T and 4S at least. It also devalues the 3A so I'm not happy considering how many guys can do quads but still fail a 3A. If anything, I'd keep the 3A value the same, and deflate the other quads a little bit. This makes at least 1 triple jump quite viable.

that was my thought as well, landing the jump and not URing should be the absolute base and not get extra points already wth :judgmental:

@ralucutzagy and for those who are wondering what Yuzu's PC LP might have been, and if you have to use math against some what-ifs that still seem to be on-going :3:

Spoiler

Planned layout: 4S 4T 3F// 4S3T 4T1Lo3S 3A2T 3Lo 3Lz

Spins:  FCCoSp4, FCSSp4, CCoSp4

Steps: StSq4, ChSq

Perfect GOE (+3) everything: 127.39

Not hitting the combo on the 4T1Lo3S and changing the 3A2T and then getting StSq3: cost him about 5.43 points in BV. Probably closer to 9-10 points if we factor in GOEs he normally could get for his original planned combos. Then there was the issue with the 3Lz with -GOE.

If he hit clean on everything and gets around the same GOEs he normally gets: TES could have gone around 121.93

If he just hit the above with no additional GOEs or additional PCS: 211.6

If you add additional GOEs he normally gets: probably around 218

If there are any additional PCs he might have received if he goes perfectly clean: maybe close to 220

He may not have broken H&L record, but boy, if he went perfectly clean, he was very very close, to seimei 1.0 record, if not beat it outright. Fully clean with lv 4 stsq would have netted him at least an additional 11 points if you just factor BV and GOEs, which would have made his winning gap even larger.

Looking at the World medal compared to the Olympic one, Worlds, 4CC, and Euros should be ashamed of themselves.  And then the individual segments are even smaller!! If one is the size of a dollar coin the short program and long program are the size of the dime. So lame.

but at least the new one since Euros 2018 are a tad bigger , but yeah nothing compares to the Olympic ones especially those that Yuzu got  The Sochi and Pyeongchang medal were really beautiful :smiley-love017:

Nathan mentions Yuzuru in an interview prior to Worlds:

Quote

“Honestly, I was a little disappointed that Yuzu pulled [out of worlds],” Chen said (Hanyu cited a right ankle injury that kept him out of competition from November until the Olympics). “Obviously, he needs to get healthy. I don’t know what his future entails, but I wanted to have him there. It really ups the ante of the competition. Everyone definitely feels his presence and Javi’s presence.”

I may not like his programmes, and US media may have really tried their best to sour my perspective of him and bias me against him, but in interviews he really is a decent guy

"Nathan Chen is arguably a bigger favorite at this week’s world championships than going into the Olympics"

Jeee, that's an interesting new tune than what they weren't singing going into the Olympics.  This would be news to me!!
