With the embarrassment of riches that is the Japanese ladies, JSF really gets the worst federation award for how they manage their skaters.

Happy for Mai. She deserved more than 33 pcs. Especially when Russian girls getting 35+ with a fall.

This was one of the more enjoyable short program comps that i've watched in a while v-v

It's sad that the scoring can't reflect that...... I can't believe Yelim and Haein scored basically the same as what Anna did last week at euros, it's absolutely ridiculous. It also continues to sadden me how difficult getting the minimums (even when clean) is for small fed skaters when a big fed skater like Gabbie Daleman can flunk two jumping passes and still get them.

I really don’t like Les Mis skates so I was doubtful about this choice - so few singles skaters are old enough to be able to put the emotions into the choreo but Mai is perhaps the only skater with the experience of personal non skating related ‘misery’ who could skate to this and not look as though she’s going through the motions

I like Tara as a skater because she has so much passion, but her posture is truly god awful and it takes away from the program

It was a nice (and clean!) skate from Rino. She was really happy about the result. It's always great to see that kind of joy mixed with bewilderment (I mean that kind of bewilderment that is actually a good thing and not a disappointment ).

Rino is leading with a strong free skate (it seems nothing was called by the panel), and the last group is on the ice now.

I hope Mai has a great skate 💕

She got one warning on the Flip, per the commentator (Chris?)
