His PCS (90 wtf) just showed that the judges are showing him the exit door frankly. I hope he takes a decision that will bring him peace and ease of mind. Seeing him in this condition is truly heartbreaking, they didn't lose the chance to completely throw him under the bus and take him off-podium. Shoma's performance was in no way deserving of bronze. This is what's hurting me the most! 90 PCS?!!! 6th on the FS by the Japanees judge?!!! To humiliate him like that after everything he's been through, everything he's given this sport?!!! I don't understand how he's managed to cope with everything these last 4 years.. injuries and the hardships of training alone aside, the horrible underscoring and overscoring of the others.. each time again and again, they made him doubt his most basic beliefs of skating.. and still he pushed forward, inspite of all the injustice.. and in his last Olympics when he delivers a magestic performance, in the realms no one else dared before, these are the scores?!!!!!!!! So undescribably hurt for him!!!!
February 10, 20224 yr I think he'll skate gala as long as he can skate and jumps triple. I try not to think about worlds right now. But I have a feeling he'll skip wolrds after all tiredness. So maybe his last skating would be...

I doubt whether he considered or practiced 4lo layout. He said it's not relaistic to include 4lz or 4lo with 4a after Jnats. So his absolute priority is 4a confirmed. I just feel pity nhk wd. He had only on comp to test layout since that. But after all, that is also is unfortune fate.. Someone will never understand him including me. But it's his choice and life well. Looking back at 2019 GPF he had a clean 4Lo + 4Lz at the beginning of his free, and would have won back then, had they not overscored Nathan. Yuzu had a little mistake in a jump and missed 3A + 3A Sequence, but that was still one of his best performances. I think the Base value of that program is higher than Tenchi 2022 FS? Is it not?

This posibly will be his last Olympic too and he unable to enjoy it.It not because of the result i think but because he felt he was not rewarded enough for his hard work.like the hole in the ice and everything else not going his way.

I have stated several times in these pages and I’ll state it again- he can do whatever he likes - he owes us nothing. You say you wanted a 3rd OGM - wasn’t going to happen with an overhyped American in the field. 2019 taught him that. I thought he had lost heart and might give up then, but he didn’t - he still had a remaining dream and that was 4A, which he very nearly got here. Why do you continue to harp on this when he has been perfectly clear as to his priorities? It doesn’t matter what you or those like you want- it’s his career and his life.

But 2019 gpf layout definitely not works for him in aspects of consistency. That was the biggest yolo layout after his short flatters. I still think that 4lo, 4lz was best quality gif but pcswise not even close to his best. Olympic is especially simple number game. In order to win you need high Bv and most concistency. We won't know why he didn't keep practicing 4lz or 4lo, maybe his chronic injury. But I personally think at that time he had no intention to participate Bejing and just go for 4a and retire. And Covid happened, he can't back canada a.k.a his self traning era begins. And 4a is not kind to him... 2018-2022 period is very tough to him after ultimate happiness. But he choose his way.

Just discussing what his BV might have been. His BV back then is 98.65 with 3A+3A Seq executed. Nathan's 2022 FS base value is 94.34. Yuzu had a 89.93 BV for today's free skate. I'm just saying it's good Yuzu wants to jump that 4A. But it's a shame he had to change the 2019 FS layout because of corrupt PCS politics. Really such a shame. That GPF 4Lz and 4Lo was as perfect as ever.
February 10, 20224 yr I think even if he would have gone for 5 quads, he would still lose easily. the -5/+5 GOE system is very easy to manipulate. Also doing 5 quads would force him to drop transitions and waterdown quality and sacrifice everything he value. It was Nathan's way of skating and at the end, he would have just chased Nathan. But he chose his own skating ideals and I'm glad he did. I like his skating mostly because of his artistry not because of how many jumps he does.

February 10, 20224 yr I don't know why we are questioning his layout btw and belittle what he achieved in Beijing. He managed to rotate a 4Aq in Beijing. Judges called it 4A< but it was q. He did it while injured, under huge pressure. That is one massive history making. If he stays healthy and finds the motivation, he has the ability to land it. And I promise you 100% that no one else in the history will even try to rotate 4A in competition.

February 10, 20224 yr Out of curiosity, if he happens to skip worlds this year what is the first isu comp following that?
