You are implying 4Lz and 4Lo are more painful and risky for his ankle than THE 4A because lol

I don't know about the details of his injuries, but one difference is that the 4Lo takes off on the right back outside edge, aka the same edge he lands jumps on, so it could mean additional stress to his ankle. (The axel, on the other hand, takes off on a left forward outside edge, an entirely different foot). The lutz and flip both use toepick assist from the right toepick to take off, which again could add additional stresses (and stresses in a different direction than those involved in landing but on the same ligaments and so on). So the 4A of course involves greater force on his right foot upon landing, the 4Lo and 4Lz create an additional stress on his right foot with the take off.

I don't know if the 4Lo and 4Lz are actually more risky for him, but there are reasons that those jumps could pose more problems than the 4A.

Since the change of Goe system to+/-5 it has not benefitted Yuzu at all..i still remembered one of the interview with Jackie  Wong with Brian Orser prior to the implementing of the new system that he said it will benefit the skater like Yuzu who has high quality jump.Unfortunately ISU manipulated it so much to give candies goe to their desired skater.I hope there is a new change of the judging system after this Olympic. Is it a  requirement for change of a new system after every Olympic?

Yea... Back then we had hopes that the new system would benefit because Yuzu had such high quality jumps and spins, but here comes Nathan and his 4F and 4Lz that don't care about URs nor landing quality or transitions in and out. I don't think they will change the new system, and I do think the next generation of skaters; Yuma, Shoma, Jun and possibly Nathan will still get overscored GOES on jumps that are not that worth it.

Once Covid is over, hopefully Yuzu retires in a stadium full of pooh bear avalanches, and goes out with a bang. I am looking this optimistically because I think kuyashii Yuzu will come back for more until 4A is landed, and 1 or more gold titles are won. Yuzu appeared to be in top form even now, I do believe he has more to show us.

In theory it should benefit him, and I don't think it's actually less advantageous to him than the old system (since that system values BV more and would have given Nathan more points as well). However, the issue is that it hands way too much power to the judges, basically turning it into 6.0 with extra math.

I think the old system is better just because the judges can't manipulate the results as much. But either way, the problem isn't really with CoP, it's with the judges. It's a solid system in theory, but the implementation is awful because judges don't follow the rules.

Thanks for summary, I haven't watched Nathan since Pyeongchang 2018 so I have no idea.

Well at least he tried...?

I haven’t watch Nathan since Rostelecom cup 2017. Only short videos from twitter. He tried. But definitely don’t deserve his scores. Yuma was good. Shoma overscored. The most overscored this morning.

If ISU hypes up Yuma's scores, I wouldn't be as mad tho. Yuma's skating is smooth and the way he exits his jumps is smooth, not rock hard like Nathan's. Although I do think ISU and JSF hyping Yuma as the next Yuzu is a big mistake

I agree.

I'm not denying Yuma, but Yuzu is irreplaceable.

There was and there will be nobody like him.

I never could enjoy Nathan's skating because exactly as you said, rock hard.

No fluidity and no artistry (I don't care what hyped up crap others say)

In terms of skating skills, the other person from Yuzu's era who I thought was really good (apart from Yuzu) is Patrick Chan.

His jumps weren't great, but his skating skills and artistry was truly top-notch, especially the later programs of his career.

Thank you for such a detailed answer. My English is so bad that I can not describe all my thoughts😓

I remember that Yuzu said that his ankle is shaky because of chronic injuries. Maybe what’s why it affects take-off on Lz

ISU always pick dominating one based high BV with consistency historically. Milan generation will need 5 types of quads minus 4a anyway man or woman lol.

I agree 100%

Yuzu deserves more, he deserves better, and I'm so sorry that COVID made it unable for all his fans to support him

The Pooh storm is ICONIC (and used to piss Nathan off so much LOL), and how nice it will be for Yuzu to perform the perfect clean programs with perfect 4A

Those evil ISU won't have excuse not to give Yuzu medals (although it will be legendary regardless of medals if Yuzu did perfect 4A in clean program)

Yuzu's programs are the most technically advanced, difficult, and the most intricate and complete artistry.

Imagine all that being performed cleanly.

I honestly thought Yuzu was in great form this time (despite the injuries), but he is the only one who can decide what next is best for him...

Remember, Yuzu got injured in 2017  because of the 4Ltz.

And injured again the same ankle in 2018 from practicing 4Loop or 4 Lutz.

After the 2017 injury, he doesn't jump 4Lutz in competitions anymore. He can still do the 4 Loop but BV is lower.

But who knows, after he gets the 4A fully rotated, he might go for 4 Flip to complete the list. Be the 1st skater to do all the quad jumps.

I became fan of Yuzu back when it was still GOE +/-3

I remember when they proposed the new change to GOE +/-5 and my first thought was "those bastards sure know what they're doing because they will use the +/-5 to fix scores so that they people they want will win medals"

The only fairest thing would be if the 360-degree replay camera was used to confirm rotations or other techniques

But of course we know that won't happen because then ISU can't manipulate scores for their agenda

Hate COVID. Want someone to give him a hug.

This post has been tagged by yuzuangel as [NEWS].

sorry if this has been posted - I think it's Yuzu finding out his 4A is certified as a 4A - a happy and overcome Yuzu :sorrow:

OMG what's going on?

Why Yuzu crying? :(

I think it's just a form of release of stress and frustration especially when you see a comforting and familiar face.

He said in the video he does not like to cry in front of TV but (I can't be sure of this and certain a translation will come out later) he knows Shuzo-san for a long time.

Oh I wish there was a giant Pooh plushie that could walk and give him a much needed hug

I'm guessing that he was emotional because of the KUYASHII of not having a clean performance or not performing the perfect 4A

But he did an amazing job already and he already achieved nobody ever did before

He gave it all he had and that was more than what anyone could've expected of him

Of course he is the person who expects most from himself, but he wouldn't be the Yuzu we love if he didn't

It's beautiful to see Yuzu's joy after being ratified for 4A

He worked unbelievably hard and deserves some recognition!

I'm comforted by his reaction!
