[2022] Winter Olympic Games (04.02-20.02) - Men's SP

My friends, I'm SO VERY UPSET right now.

I want to thank the amazing TRUE ARTIST Yuzu for giving us such a graceful and beautiful performance today.

It's so unfair that terrible circumstances beyond Yuzu's control caused this.

I think he did the wise thing to not follow through with the first jump, because if he landed badly it would've caused him injury (and he already has many old injuries).

I rather watch the beautiful TRUE GOAT Yuzu skate for many years to come, and no matter what happens to his scores (which were never fair to him anyway), we all know Yuzu is the one and only and nobody can take his achievements from him.

The evil people behind the unfair judging always had it out for Yuzu, and what they never realize is that Yuzu is the GIFT to skating, not the other way around.

Figure skating will be all the worse if Yuzu wasn't around.  I don't care what the hype is about other skaters (who have the backing of the Powers At Play), I only have eyes for Yuzu (and Boyang) in Men's FS.  I haven't watched this event in years, because Yuzu wasn't competing.  I only catch up afterwards for Yuzu's segment.

The evil judges can inflate scores all they want, but TRUE ARTISTRY is one that always stay with the audience after watching.  I can remember every one of Yuzu's programs, and even my mom who doesn't follow skating, only wants to watch Yuzu.

The PURITY, GRACE, and LOVE behind Yuzu's skating is irreplaceable. He skates for the love of skating and for the people around the world who love him. He is the TRUE CHAMPION, LEGEND, and GOAT that deserves (and more) all the LOVE we have for him.

PLEASE FOR THE LOVE OF ALL SKATING GODS OUT THERE, PLEASE PLEASE LET YUZU LAND THE PERFECT 4A!!!

The TRUE GOAT deserves this, come on skating Gods hear our prayers!!!

This is just a question, i'm curious about the rules!!

If, let's say Hanyu didn't do the first 4A, popped or invalid.. can he yolo it again at the last jump instead of 3A!?  I'm asking as a rule.. I know it's quite impossible because of the choero at the end and stamina issue.

If he can't.. it's disappointing cause sport is about comebacks!!  Why it's not allowed?!  And the first one will be considered 1A!!!

Like, again re: Nathan, outside of his famous Olympics SP fiasco, does anyone remember distinctly any single instance of him performing one of his programs that has stuck with you? I barely ever manage to make it through a whole program of his without just clicking off, but the ones I have seen literally just all meld together, which certainly can't be said for Yuzu

Not me.. I last 10 seconds only..

Not even 10 seconds for me because I don't bother to watch...

If I am right (and I'm far from combing through the rulebook here, this is just me and my memory) I think that in theory yes he could if it was a pop and not < or << however, he'd run many risks because if he messed it up again he'd miss more points or even risk invalidating elements if he did accidentally violate some rule.

I really only watch simply so that I can draw comparisons between him and Yuzu and then rant about scoring injustices

Well.. i last 10 seconds if I bothered!!  I don't even watch FS anymore.. just Hanyu.. & sometimes go back and watch the j ladies performance only without scores!!

The min Hanyu retires, it's byu bye!!

I watch some of the women (Japanese ladies a bit, and Trusova/Shcherbakova cause those 2 and Kostornaia were alongside Yuzu in introducing me to fs so I can't help but love them) but outside of them and Yuzu I don't really go out of my way to watch anyone else

TBH, I am wondering if I did anything wrong, (Laughs) if this happened because I did something wrong."

I read a translator's note (i think from Iae? ) that said he meant this in the sense of 'being hated' by the ice. A.k.a., he was wondering if Ice-chan was mad at him.

Cute, Yuzu. Very cute.

Ok, now I get stressed again because he believes he can do the 4A. Idk what to expect but a 4A with clean Tenchi will be the most epic moment in FS ever. Who cares about the medals.

I used to do that a lot, but then my doctors told me to stop because I have to control my stress levels (for my health).

So now I only watch the skaters I like and don't worry about the rest.

It still upsets me a lot to see TRUE ARTIST GOAT Yuzu being treated this way.

He deserves so much better.

Skating competitions don't deserve him.

Same, I didn't watch FS for a very long time (I used to follow all competitions), and I only watch Yuzu's segment because I didn't want to get upset at the unfairness of it all.

I will always want to watch Yuzu though.

He is the true inspiration not just in skating but in LIFE.

He has the mindset and grace of the TRUE CHAMPION.

I read his post-SP interview just now and he is so classy and full of grace.

There's no other like him.

all I really remember is that every time I watch and try to give him another chance because maybe I've been unfair to him, I end up even less impressed than I started

Look at this beauty, my god the stable axes, heights and flow, with extra tano? Exquisite!

Okay, so this is a little half assed cause it's late here but I ran Nathan's planned program content to check BV (was gonna do all top 3 men but I'm tired so just did Nathan cause I'm sure he probably has highest BV of the 3) and assuming that his last 3 jumping passes are the only ones in the second half (the place I got the layout from didn't specify so I just guessed it) Nathan's BV for a clean skate before adding levels onto spins or step sequences is 93.74. Given that the judges will probably give him level 4s, I'd say without properly calculating that puts him up to at least 95/96. So, if Yuzu lands 4A clean, his BV is a few points higher. If 4A< or << they're pretty much identical. Even if Yuzu lands 4A and skates all of Tenchi clean though, unless Nathan, Yuma or Shoma mess up badly it's still looking to be an off podium finish probably
