Some changes in the StSq

- the dipping the head low movement in the first few seconds is back (yay me)

- the running back movement after that is replaced (sad me)

- some added movements after and at the end it looks like he is offering the sword to someone higher up.

Personally, I prefer the return to the 20/21 skating pattern in the 1st half.

The forward opening movement is very impactful and gives an impression of confidence and offensive tactics.

The backward movement at this year's Nationals signalled a rather defensive and careful approach to the battle.

Historically, it was Kenshin's troups who took the first move and attacked Shingen's forces at dawn, so the forward offensive move makes more sense.

Oh yeah, but I'm just talking about minor details within the StSq. I'm glad to see the original opening back too.

Ps: there seems to be minor mismatches between the music and choreo in this practice. Hopefully he can smooth that out soon.

Well that just confirms my view that Yuzuru is absolutely right in keeping himself apart.  There are a lot of people at this event who are careless, there will be some who  for whatever reason, national attitudes, personal beliefs, etc will be against all the precautions that are in place and will ignore them given half a chance.  There have been positive tests of several prominent figures, there are probably many more among support staff, media and less well known competitors and coaching staff.  IOC is paying lip service to restricting behaviour to avoid infection but they’re really more interested in making the games look good, and a space on the podium because a team member has tested positive won’t play well on NBC.

This is not new but I just read the full article today. It is both funny and meh. What a circus the ISU is.

Notable part

Duhamel insisted "you should not be allowed to be suspended, and your reward is working the next Olympics".

In response, the ISU

told insidethegames that Huang had been cleared to officiate at its events and the Winter Olympics after serving his ban as long as he abides by its code of ethics.

The organisation claimed it monitors the judging of all ISU figure skating events as part of its "robust evaluation and reporting procedure".

The process includes the appointment of the Officials Assessment Commission which the ISU claimed checks the behaviour of judges during competitions and reports any errors.

The ISU added that the procedure allows them to "focus particularly on cases that potentially show strong national bias through scoring".

"The cancellation of anonymity makes it possible to trace not only the quality of judging but also any bias,” the statement from the ISU added.

"Judges who make mistakes and/or are over marking skaters receive a warning and can be penalised by the ISU.

"It is the ISU’s priority to do its utmost to guarantee a fair result during any ISU event.

Funny joke, ISU, funny joke.

Could someone tell me at what time do we expect Yuzu to skate tomorrow, please? Someone at work keeps calling for a meeting right around the time Yuzu would skate, both tomorrow and on Feb 10 :sad-smiley-046:I hope I could just step away a bit.

Right? The funniest thing of the day. Boy if I had an ounce of their shamelessness I would not have been miserable for so long now lol.

12:19 Beijing time

I’m sure you can use the bathroom for 5 mins to watch him. Gotta hav that extra time to rewatch :hihi:

Is the skating order already known and at what time he will skate? Need to know when to set my alarm...still can't believe its already time, feels too soon.

I tried searching on the isu page, but me and their website aren't the best of friends, so no success on that site.

Edit: question already answered thanks to @Tee

Edit: Oh no, Roman skating first again.....please be ok with it.

And I will hide it, because these are my thoughts on the event and its a bit pessimistic, but i need to get it of my chest.

Spoiler

The 4A is clearly not ready and he needs to make a decision between going for it, because its what he wants and not caring about the medal (we know he cares, he hinted as much in the last few interviews) loosing a lot of points or going for the points with a different jump and keeping a small chance to win. Because, lets face it, even if Nathan makes one or two mistakes, he might still be placed above Yuzu with a not successful 4A attempt. But if Yuzu skates a clean program with maybe another jump, there could be a small chance for him to win if Nathan makes mistakes or the judging suddenly gets fair again. I don't want to say that Yuzu can't win, because he could if everything was done fairly, but sadly, its not and thats why I think his chances are small. (I also don't wont any of the other athletes to make mistakes, because they all trained hard for this) Of course I will support Yuzu in whatever he decides and I wish him a olympic miracle of landing a fully rotated 4A, but my realistic side is quite loud at the moment. So, sorry for this word salad, but I needed to get it of my chest. In Yuzu we trust, lets hope for the best and the best would be a happy Yuzu.

Thank you! It falls right in the middle of the 20-min meeting. I guess I'll have to find a way somehow.

When I first got into Yuzu, we’re talking winter of 16/17, the fandom would infantilize Yuzu a lot. Tbf that was the season Yuzu had a lot of trouble mentally with getting his new combinations and jumps consistent (4Lo and 4S3T) and wasn’t known to rest when he should. I think back then I stressed more about the COD (combo of doom aka 4S3T) than I stress about his 4A now. LOL we would also stress so much about his starting order because he usually fessed up when he skated 2. in his group??

All those worries are forgotten now. Yuzu has come so far. Yeah his 4A isn’t comp ready (you can’t expect miracles in less than 2 months since nats) and it also wasn’t ready when he attempted it at Jnats. Let the boy do what he wants. He already has 2 OGMs. His express goal for even skating the past 4 years has been the 4A.

I’m more concerned about him staying safe and healthy.
