Not sure if this is an appropriate thread to post this, but an interesting interview with Mirai focusing on mental health. It is divided into five segments and each segment lasts about 15 minutes.

Patrick Chan and Kirsten Moore-Towers talked about the same topic in an article about Naomi Osaka's withdrawal. (I put this in here because Patrick's comments are longer than Kirsten's)

According to Yuna Kim's wish to support the supply of novel coronavirus infection (COVID-19) vaccines in developing countries, the UNICEF Korean Committee will donate the entire amount of the funds to the COVID-19 vaccine supply of 'COVAX Facility', an international project for joint purchase of vaccines.

Were you referring to Daichi Miyata in the fourth-to-last paragraph? His is a sad story.

Let me reply to this here.

The skater I referred to in the General Skating Chat was Hidetsugu Kamata. (Do you remember the skater who looked a bit like Han Yan?) I realized that Daichi was another example when you mentioned him.
Although they could not make a comeback to the international field at the end of their competitive career, they are both loved by their fans and comrades and seem to be hoping to continue contributing to the sport in some way, so I wish them good luck.
Following are some of the recent footage of them.

Daichi Miyata performing "Anthem" at Shakaijin (Working members of society) Skaters on Ice 2021

Hidetsugu Kamata performing "Moonlight Sonata" at HIDES ON ICE (An ice show to celebrate his retirement in 2020)

Interview with Hidetsugu by Narumi Takahashi done this spring

Narumi and Hidetsugu had shared the ice at Citizen Plaza Ice Rink that was closed this spring. In this interview, they talked about how they felt about the closure of their home rink, life after retirement (the anxiety of living without the title, "figure skater"), and what they want to do for the skating community in the future.

Coach Javi 👏

DeepL translation:

Quote

Javi and his sister Laura are officially listed as coaches of Marian Millares and Pablo Garcia (Valdemoro Ice Team).
In fact is expected, that Javi will accompany Marian and Pablo to the JGP in Austria. It will be the first time that we see him in the Kiss & Cry as a coach.

Well, I wasn't expecting to hear that  today... Elvis listed in the so-called Pandora Papers of world elite practicing questionable tax avoidance schemes:

Edited to add:

Jan Djiksma, the head of the ISU, is also listed in the papers. There's bound to be more.
