July 9, 20215 yr how I see Yuzuru's plan through the years: PyeongChang (and in some way Sochi too, but it wasn't as extreme): getting OGM was do or die type of thing, no different outcome contemplated (thankfully everything turned out for the better in the end) Beijing: never really in his plans, but a nice addiction, now that it has presented itself. He's been consistent in tlaking aobut 4a but always being vague about Beijing, probably he didn't even thoguh he's been still skating now. I'm sure it tickles him the idea of becoming a 3 time OGM, after all that owuld be pretty iconic. But it has already been done And realistically, he can also see how external force he cna't control are hellbent against him, and it doesn't feel worth it to him to break himself just for that. Feels like something he might want, but if he had to pick between 4A and 3rd OGM, he'd pick 4A 4A: what he really wants to do above everything else, his last childhood dream, his creature, what he's been cultivating for many years and pouring so much effort into. 4A is what he absolutely won't compromise on. Realistically, 4A actually makes winning a 3rd OGM harder (because the measly BV doesn't compensate for all the complications it brings. 4A would not be the smartest way to up his BV, nor to be more consistent: 4Lz and upping BV in the SP would be A LOT more useful. But exactly because Yuzu wants 4A above evertything else, he is willing to sacrifice 4lz and who knows, maybe even 4Lo or a 4quads layout for it. Well, I thought he wouldn't jump 4Lz togheter with 4Lo but he did, with 4Lz as second jump even, so he can prove me wrong with the Loop. But I wouldn't be shocked even ifhe went for 4A 2x4T FS (then again, I think he plans to stick to 4 quads if he can manage. July 9, 20215 yr Nothing he has said is a surprise to me, honestly. New sp: I got the feeling he was doing LMEY for fun, and it didn't get as high marks as it should have... and neither did LGC, which is also upbeat etc.. Less energy for Olys: He's won it 2x, the 2nd time really against all odds, and the judges have made it clear he's not as favoured... it's hard to have as much optimism/energy when you know you are against a wall. Age and related body aches don't help, and, the pandemic has taken a lot of zap out of a lot of people, even if just mentally. 4A: His last long term skating goal... Everyone needs goals. It would give him that much needed energy boost. Go for it, Yuzu. Staying in Japan: no surprise. If there wasn't a pandemic, I think he would've stayed in Canada until Beijing, but after having found a workable training solution at home, and the pandemic still creating problems, it makes sense. I think it's a big mental thing, being safe at home (despite the increase in cases there). Canada is about 69% with at least 1 vaccine now, and 40% with both, so it's actually really good compared to most places, but they're really being cautious about opening up borders because of the Delta variant, so there are a lot of hoops to jump through to get here. It will be so good to see him skating here at DOI. We have to enjoy every moment he's on the ice.

He hasn't said "new music" As for 音源, my take is that the editing has not finished and he doesn't have complete piece of music yet, but I am not sure if it is because of copyright issue. I wonder if he can practice SP now, maybe he is still doing choreography partially?

July 9, 20215 yr When I heard him say, "エネルギーを全て出し切る (put all my energy into (my performance))" in the promo clip, I thought of Masquerade because the comment resembled what he said in FaOI 2019 interviews, but I never thought he would actually bring back the program! I think bringing back Crystal Memories tomorrow may be a good idea because performing Masquerade twice a day must be exhausting. As to SP, he sounds pretty much like he is going to have a new one. He said "実際にまだ音源はできていない (The music isn't ready yet)" when asked about it. He also said "ただ、振付に関してリモートで、と考えてはいます (But I am planning to receive choreography remotely)" when a reporter asked him whether he would continue training in Japan.
