beki
Just on the topic of Nathan taking out the 4Lo, I think it's a wise decision. He would reinjure himself; it would be like Yuzu doing 4F. That he isn't artistically driven speaks for itself. I have been dreading the politicking this year, but Yuzu has plenty of American fans, just like he does from every country. Link to comment

It seems that the little boy that kept on trying to reach Yuzu was Plushy's son? I heard that in the CBC video of Yuzu's FS. Link to comment

They just saw the hair and like most of us assumed it must be. Link to comment

SSS
I always love Yuzu more and more after every his competition. He could easily win this CoR with H&L layout or even old SEIMEI layout which he said he could clean it easily last season. But he didn't. He decided to challenge himself to skate his ideal skate. He never let me down. Look at his score, 290+..it is higher than Sochi (280.09) and higher than 266.95, 271.14, 262.03 (Patrick's SC gold total in previous years, sorry Patrick) also, since 2013 season, Yuzu's difference between lowest and highest score is around 60 to 70 points. 268.24 -> 328 ~ 338...and 268.24 is a rare case... (difference between second lowest and highest score is around 50, 70 last year... 295+50 = 345...) we might see some monster score. Nathan's difference last year was also around 60 points. 275+60 = 335 thanks Japan Today..now google give me all three Nathan propaganda... Link to comment

wombat-poodle
Re CBC and US propaganda: I think most reasonable, level-headed and rational people won't be fooled or amused by CBC's nonsense. Even if they are not Yuzu's fans, I'm sure such people can see how underhanded CBC and the other US propaganda is. I would say just stop giving CBC traffic - unfollow or block them. Don't give them attention (even negative attention). Anyway, I'm glad the little flower kid got a hug from Yuzuru. Link to comment

TAT And there are 2 girls, one in UK and one in Australia, who are getting their swans over Xmas break when they come home for vacation. Link to comment
Yolo3a
As Yuzu has never followed media much and Brian lived through 'the Battle of the Brians', if they communicate through this, this should not be something that affect him. And as fans, paying attention to this kind of media will only fan their flames and drive them to write more atrocious things. As a hotheaded person, the more i read, the more crazy angry i get, so i am avoiding it at all costs. Whats improtant is Yuzu beat Nathan in a 3 quad program vs Nathan's 4 quad one and he did okay. I am sure he needs more practice to correct the timing of the elements from the old to the new one. Link to comment
WinForPooh
1 hour ago, kaerb said: CBC Olympics posted a video recap of the mens event titled 'Oh Pooh 💩🐻 (and then something along the lines of 'Nathan Chen upsets Yuzuru Hanyu to win' etc.)'. The video itself showed the Seimei girl crying and overlaid words essentially suggesting they were upset about his loss. The Seimei girl actually specified on Weibo she wasn't crying because she was upset he lost and she was crying for other reasons. It was kind of a shady angle to take (I think esp since they showed the girl's face), so people called them out on Twitter and they deleted the Tweet. I think the video might still be up on their homepage & someone screenshot the tweet but I can't find it rn. I guess this is an example of where I think one or two firm callouts would have sufficed to outline the issue - don't really think they meant it entirely in bad spirit but it was a poorly executed tone/angle/joke given they should probably have put the spotlight on Nathan - y'know, the actual winner - and not on Yuzu losing. I wouldn't call it cyberbullying or the height of disrespect or anything (which I've seen on a few tweets) or think it necessary to demand an apology from the ISU though. That is actually very irresponsible! Speaking as somebody who specialised in journalism and worked in the field for years, this is far more the kind of stupidly irresponsible stunt that an unscrupulous marketing team would pull, where the clicks and views are worth the infamy and hit to credibility. Showing her face like that and making a video centred around her without getting an actual waiver, with a translated copy if need be, then misrepresenting her? That is toilet journalism. Even when I was on the lifestyle beat and churned out fluff pieces till I thought my brain was turning into fluff, as a complete rookie, I would've had my ass handed to me if I'd pulled something like this! Unbiased media is a thing of the past, sure, but there should be some pretence at least of standards! Link to comment
