I thought Yuzu's size (40.5 EU / UK size 7) was small for a male. All of my male friends are sizes UK 9 (EU 43) and up.

 

My own feet (the smallest compared to any women I know) is a UK 3.5 (EU 36) and is the smallest size available on the Adidas website in my country 

 

 

Same, my eldest son who measures 1m70 wears 45 !!!!!! it is the norm in France and the size of Yuzu would be "small" at home and I see that in Greece the "small" is the size ..... and for my part, I measure 1m59 and wear 38 and I went to Adidas and it goes to 39 women, I know there is nothing to understand

No matter how hard the ISU and media try, people with working eyeballs and open mind know what's going on. The majority of people is very well able to appreciate and enjoy Yuzu's skating and their number is growing day by day. Those few who are not, don't deserve any better and it's pointless to argue with them.

 

I am sure that Yuzu is disappointed and frustrated about the scoring, but I'm also sure that the respect from his fellow skaters, the adoration from all the young talents and unconditional love from his fans is the biggest treasure and victory for him. These achievements cannot be bought.

I am not at liberty to disclose the source (“between you and me, I never told you this”), but I have it on good authority that Yuzu’s shoe size is 7.5 US (40-41 in Europe depending on the conversion table).

 

My wife and I gave Yuzu two pairs of size 7.5 US “Axel Arigato” leather sneakers (one black pair and one white pair) before the start of competition at 2019 Skate Canada International in Kelowna.

 

Axel Arigato is a Swedish company and their sneakers are handmade in Portugal with Italian leather. The word “Axel” can only mean one thing.

Although these are not the sneakers that we got for Yuzu, the box and packaging are the same. There were chopsticks engraved with “Axel Arigato” with each of the two pairs that we bought for Yuzu. One set of chopsticks each for Yuzu and his mother.

Random thought after watching White Legend again - I am just wondering...

 

What do we (thousands of) Fanyus have in common that makes us really fall for him and (let's admit it) others not? I mean, look at how different our cultural background must be, our daily life, our experiences, just to mention a few obvious things. The changes he initiates in our lives are different. We discuss diverse opinions on every crumb we get, yet we still feel as a unity because of Yuzu. We love him for the same (thousands of @rockstaryuzu) reasons, but what is it that reaches us more than others, why us around the world while not - in most cases I assume - our family members for example? Are we more open to the emotions Yuzuru's skate conveys? Do we depend on something of his statements? Do we search for something in particular? Or is it similar to the way fans of, let's say, an actor/actress feel?

Sorry for being off topic, perhaps I miss him too much.    What the h*** will I do when he r***s, I am not yet relaxed regarding it.

ACI usually has a box behind the ticket table where the volunteers will place gifts for skaters, because throwing things on the ice has always been against the rules there. So it can be done that way.

I'm not joking. It takes a discerning eye to fully appreciate all Yuzu has to offer. 

 

But more importantly,  I think our hearts were open at the right time while Yuzu was there ready to walk in.  You feel it when he skates: the guy is trying to communicate with his performances, trying to say something important from the depths of his heart. If you're ready for it, you'll receive the signal and the connection gets made.

 

It sounds a bit hokey, but I really do think that's what it is.

There are times where I consider that I might be desperate for something or someone to lean onto emotionally, which in this case that someone ended up being Yuzuru. I can't know for sure but my theory is that what grabs our hearts first is his skating which gains more depth after we learn more about him, the history between each program, his thoughts and hopes etc. That makes our hearts sink lower into the rabbithole and before you know it you can't live without him. 

 

About the people around us, maybe they are already leaning on to something. Personally, if someone were to come up to me right now and show me (let's say for example) a cool music group with wonderful people that can sing beautifully, I would probably appreaciate them and their music but not in the same way I appreciate Yuzuru.

 

I talked about this with my mom recently. There was a time when I really lost hope in our society - that materialism and deep rooted prejudices have turned many people into irrevertible idiots, even a good number of our own friends and relatives. Without my parents I would have felt pretty lonely sometimes.

 

Where are the people who do not just talk about respect but really MEAN and practice it?

Where are the people who give more to the world than they take away from it?

Where are the people who truly treasure their craft and don't betray or misuse it?

 

When I first saw Yuzu at the 2016 Grand Prix Final, it was his skating that impressed me. But there are many other people who's craft had a strong impact on me, so that alone doesn't make me follow someone's journey so closely. It's more the fact that - despite being a famous person - he lives and incorporates those human values that are precious to me. Probably that's why I often feel this strong need to defend him and fight for him.

 

Some people told me to be careful, that he might be a totally different person in reality than what we see through the camera lenses. Yes, that might be true. However, the Yuzuru Hanyu I know is a person who has earned my trust over many years with actions that I appreciate. I am aware that he might disappoint me one day like many others did, but if I cannot even trust people like him, I cannot trust anyone. So I take the risk to trust one more time.

@Yuzuwinnie, I think auto-translation made a mistake here. The original post that @CaroSkate made did not say 170 years. It just said "170" and I believe it meant 170cm and it was about her height.
