  1. I was busy recently and didn't update myself with Yuzu's news, so I was shocked when my friend told me about Yuzu's new Youtube channel yesterday. Luckily I was able to catch the live stream today. Still reading through the last 70 pages in this thread lol. I'm extremely happy to see Yuzu skating freely and grateful that we can follow the new stage of Yuzu's career. Screamed when I watched clean Seimei. And there are so many high quality photos that it's like a photo competition lol.
  2. I feel emotional but not exactly sad. He is retiring by choice and he looks content about it. I'm lucky to have the chance to witness his journey in the past 4 years. He will be missed from competitions, but personally I prefer shows than competitions. Looking at CWW, it's obvious that Yuzu can become a great show producer. I'm excited to know what he has in store for us. Breaking out from ISU rules is certainly a good thing and Yuzu's creativity is no longer bounded. From the conference, we'll be seeing him in skates regularly too.
  3. True or not, I'm so mad at Nxxxxx. It's like a slap in the face. Yuzu decided to hold the press con to announce whatever decision he has made, in his own words, but it is ruined now. I hope Nxxxxx is banned from the press con. They don't need it, do they? They can write articles without Yuzu's words anyway.
  4. I'm super curious about what he'll say, but not that anxious. It could be anything but leaving figure skating. As long as he continues to skate and stays healthy, I feel blessed.
  5. FAoI has ended but Raison, Dance my Esmeralda, and sometimes Ryakudatsu are stuck with my head. Raison may very probably be my favorite exhibition program. I can't express how much I love it. I still love NS and others, but Raison just hits different. Maybe because it's a new genre from Yuzu. I didn't care for besti squat before, but now I love them because of Raison. Sorry for the rant, I may need a few more days to digest what happened and calm down lol.
  6. NDP has been one of my favorite musicals even before I became a Yuzu fan. I'm so happy that he revisited it and brought it to a whole new level. It was mesmerizing and I cried while watching it. Also want to mention about the musicality of the spins, they hit every note and it's incredible. Thanks Yuzu for giving us these masterpieces and bringing joy to us throughout the tours.
  7. Wow I am speechless. Raison's very different from Yuzu's previous programs but still it feels very distinctively "Yuzu's". Sorry that I'm a bit incoherent now as it's 3am and I'm overwhelmed by Yuzu. I'm absolutely in love with Raison and can't wait to see it in other camera angles.
  8. I lost count of how many times I have replayed the 3-2-1-shu
  9. Thanks, I was confused by the translation.
  10. Sorry that I'm not familiar with Naoto-san's music, is he both a violist and a violinist? 😯
  11. I was confused about why th Kansai TV would broadcast Kobe at the same time as Shizuoka's live, then I realized Kobe time was a.m.
  12. more new footages I like the dance moves in the opening. This post has been tagged by yuzuangel as [NEWS].
  13. Not sure about the middle part, but this costume looks so much better than I expected of FaOI. Yuzu looks hot
  14. We have a new meme template now
  15. Based on what my colleagues told me, "Versailles" is a popular slang in mainland China. It describes people complaining about something that may sound like they are showing off. The video showed Yuzu saying that he just wanted to show his natural self, which implies that his natural self is as beautiful as others with makeup. This makes people (me included) jealous, so it is "Versailles". The term could be used in a negative way depending on context, but here it is just a joke.
  16. When did you become a fan of Yuzu? Around Apr-May 2018. I have always been interested in the story of Abe no Seimei. One day, I went through my Facebook timeline and saw a post called "Abe no Seimei on ice". I was immediately curious and fell into the rabbit hole. Then I watched Yuzu's interview and was amazed at his wisdom. Finally, I stumbled upon 2014 CoC and became a diehard fan after that. (I know CoC 14 is controversal and I don't want to see him skating with head injuries, I just couldn't help but want to root for him after watching that) When and why did you sign up for Planet Hanyu? I spent some time just reading the posts here before I joined, as I didn't have a habbit of posting things from myself. Can't remember exactly why, around June 2019, I decided to participate in the discussion. Now I am happy to have a platform discuss about Yuzu with all of you. Did you make any irl friends through Planet Hanyu? Not yet but I hope so in the future Have you participated in any group projects on Planet Hanyu? I think I have joined Birthday projects before. Did you attend any meetups with other satellites at competitions? Yes, in 4CC 2020. It was awesome. What do you like the most about this forum? Beautiful user interface, updated news about Yuzu, nice Yuzu fans Would you like to participate in the giveaway? Sure. Thanks a lot for your work.
  17. So happy that he seems healthy enough for ice shows. Last week my boss told me that I might need to go to Japan for a business trip in June. This gives me hope of seeing Yuzu there. Probability of getting a ticket is low though...
  18. Very well said. I remember in 2015, Yuzu said that he didn't receive as much media attention when his results in 2014-15 season were not as good as 2013-14. From the interviews pre Beijing, it seemed that he was also worried about how people/fans/media would react if he didn't win gold. In the interview post Beijing, he asked what he meant to people when he didn't bring back a medal. The whole event was heart breaking but one of the silver linings is that, this proves that Yuzu doesn't need more medals to gain fans, respect and adoration. His skating and his journey have reached and touched the hearts of many people, including people who are not fs fans. To me personally, it was also a great life lesson for how to deal with obstacles.
  19. I love seeing his airy single jumps. Sometimes I hope he could skate a program with only huge singles in ice shows/gala. He probably would love to jump some triples/quads though lol.
  20. I am mentally filtering out the harness and treating this as a clean 4A out of harness. What a glorious jump. While most of Yuzu's costumes are gorgeous, PC Seimei will always be number 1 to me for sentimental reasons.
  21. I love this costume so much. Still bitter that Yuzu chose the melon one last year.
  22. Yuzu's popularity is so huge that the media from all over the world would ask everybody related (or even non related) to skating about Yuzu. Sometimes the interviewees truly appreciate him while sometimes they just say some good things to appeal to the fans. Then occassionally, some let off their guard and tell their true feeling at the moment. Hence the inconsistency we see in some people. What bothers me the most is not this comment, but the overall feeling that you don't know how genuine some praises are. I remember in a post-PC conference, Yuzu mentioned that he received many congratulations, though some of them might not be genuine. And around 2019 NHK, when people ask Sota and Rika about Yuzu, they weren't able to find the word immediately and Yuzu told them to say whatever they want to say. (I am not implying anything about them, just as an example) It just saddens me that you always doubt if you can take the compliment at its face value.
  23. I don't think he has decided to retire now. There isn't enough time for him to have a thorough medical check on his ankle, or for him to organize his thoughts after these 2 weeks. Maybe Yuzu just loves performing? He has been skating alone in Sendai rink for 2 years except for occasional competitions and ice shows. He might also want to skate more for fun before the rehabilitation process when he comes back to Japan. I don't want to overthink. Just want to enjoy what Yuzu prepares for us in Gala.
  24. Just want to share my boss's words on Yuzu here. My boss never had any interest in figure skating. He had never heard of Yuzu until I mentioned Yuzu to him two years ago, but he didn't show much interest at that time. Today, he suddenly told me that he had watched Yuzu's free. He saw that Yuzu had really tried his best, and it was really touching. He said that he didn't know whether it would be Yuzu's last shot in his career, but he could feel that Yuzu had given out everything. He also said that Yuzu is very handsome LOL. I am very moved by his words. It feels extra sincere when the words are from people outside the fandom.
  25. I am glad that he has the 1st 4A(< though it looks like a q) certified in international competition. I hope this can cheer him up a little bit. 🥲 Figure skating is the only sport that I follow and Yuzu is the only athlete that I am truly emotionally invested in. Sometimes I wonder why I put myself under so much stress for someone I don't even know personally, but I have never regretted it. Since 2018, my journey as a fan is a roller coaster. Yuzu's injuries break my heart but his skating brings me immense joy. The way he kept challenging his limit and the huge progress he has made in 4A are my inspiration. Figure skating is much more than scores, ranking and medals, even though he has had plenty of those already. It is also about the performances and the emotion the skaters put out. No one can skate like Yuzu and his performance over the years will be immortal in the sport. I just want to thank him for appearing in our life and skating in front of us. Life may not always have a happy ending. Yuzu knows how hard it will be if he decides to continue. There might come a day when he thinks it is enough. He doesn't owe us anything. However, no matter how the future unfolds, I believe that the journey he has been through will be the most invaluable.
