Some clips from Hyoen 2017. Shizuka!!!!

Shizuka looks so cool! I wonder if they'll ever film/show this on television. It reminds me of when they made One Piece into a kabuki style play. Aaah.. so creative...

About a program with Yuzu doing a Seimei 2.0 - Seimei impersonating Amaterasu. I'm beginning to think it's a possibility? Wouldn't that fit the narrative he does with his programs? He did RJ2 because he felt a strong connection to RJ1 and found it appropriate for Sochi. Well, he also said that he wanted to be the character of Seimei (or in Shae Lyns words "Yuzuru is Seimei") but after B*ston said that he wasn't Seimei that day /sob/. I'm making myself sad writing this... haha

I have a mighty need for this...

I imagine they would argue like parents. Yuzu will be strict and Javi would be more laid back.... unless their students are little kiddies then Yuzu will just spend the entire time ruffling their hairs. hehehe

Oooh... good detective skill... or I just couldn't be bothered to scrutinise it more because I'm at work.... hahaha...

She was underscored in the SP though... I love all the top contending ladies so whoever wins those 2 spots, I'll be happy for them... and at the same time I'll be devastated with whoever misses out.

Max should totally ask his informant from TCC to introduce him to Yuzu. Or find some way to interview him at Worlds Milano. That would be a sight to see. Would he be calm or would he spazz out like Monfort/Candeloro and call Yuzu an alien to his face (still not over that).
-
Bless the Japanese camerawork. They always pull through. (Thank you for that close up of his face during H&L opening) I have noticed though that they really tend/like to focus on his face. I don't blame them. If I were in charge, I'd have 3 videocams on him. 1 would be the main camera. 2nd would focus on his footwork. 3rd on his lovely face.

Thank you!!!! I've added the video & translation to the Competition Commentary & Translations document I wasn't sure what they were saying but for some reason I had a feeling it was very positive. haha I find it very funny how a lot of commentators have independently said/commented about his status as a human being. Max Ambesi has called him an alien many times. Philippe Candeloro/Nelson Monfort called him an alien to his face. hahaha

Yuzu and Borser's delayed single axel superimposed. This is making me emotional for some reason...

Late to the party but I too, am salty about his Transition scores specially since he only has a small gap to some of the top 6 men. I think, weirdly, one of the issue (besides judges and FS politics) is he makes things look too easy. As Johnny Weir has said before "He's doing the most difficult elements in our sports today and he makes it looks so easy." Or as Carol Lane always says, "Effortless!" Kurt Browning actually said something in PJ Kwong's podcast that caught my ear.. Listen/watch at 7:35 here. Excerpt:"I don't understand Yuzu's feet... He's just fleet of foot... Scott Hamilton always skitters like a waterbug across the ice; but you can see it happening. I don't know how Yuzu does it. He has a way of gaining speed and momentum and power..." And maybe that's the thing... if someone like Kurt Browning has a hard time discerning how Yuzu moves, how would the judges do it? Although they really should be able to since they are judges - meaning they should be knowledgeable enough to judge said sport. That podcast actually made me rewatch some of his programs just to focus solely at his feet/footwork. And oh boy, I absolutely understand now why Yulena's description of LGC is that it's one huge transition.

Zombie apocalypse on ice sound like a good show. haha

Maybe we can do a crack thread on the top 6 guys where we can map out different scenarios. Prolly get someone with a psychology background to comment (Disclosure: I had to take psychology as a minor subject in Uni and hated it so after exams, I've erased all the information from my memory. haha). For example: Who's most likely to get bitten first in the event of a zombie apocalypse - my take: Patrick > Javi > Shoma > Nathan > Yuzu > Boyang.
-
Yes!! I love his appreciation of Boyang. The fact that he always acknowledges Boyang in his interviews warms my cold heart - especially since everyone always seems to forget or dismiss Boyang for some reason. That's why I feel like they'd actually make a great team.
-
I don't really follow Shoma and most of the stuff I read about him is by chance.haha.. But, I do agree that I don't find him as 'innocent' as most people seem to. Still, I feel like he'd still be useless for some reason. hahaha... Hmmmm... I'm imagining a scenario: I feel like Javi and Patrick are likely to form an alliance. Yuzu will offer one to Shoma but Shoma will decline and I think he'd end up partnering with Boyang. Nathan will try to do things on his own. But... if it's a battle royale type scenario.. there are also weapons right?
