First, an early video of physiotherapy (or osteopathy?) with Kikuchi-san at his clinic. Second, a video about physiotherapy and acupuncture, so it may be sensitive to some (and warning for the most angelic souls : he has hairy legs).

Do those Atlas beetles make honey? Pooh-san There's a big caveat on the hope of a specific vaccine, from previous animal researches on other coronaviri (?) (MERS and SARS-CoV 1) : antibody production is satisfactory, but later contact with the virus may result in potentially fatal inflammatory reaction, which led to stop research. Though it seems many less specific vaccines may work also for this coronavirus. But this is getting a bit out of topic here, as there is a dedicated thread for this epidemic. I read too, asthma was not a big risk factor. Also, vitamin C, vitamin D... and previous exposition to diseases producing "SARS-CoV 2-efficient antibodies" are protective (I've read a survey showing that 95% of children in childcare had some coronavirus antibody which would protect them against this one). I tend to think international athletes are more likely to have been exposed previously to another coronavirus than sedentary people. But I repeat, though I know he is not at big risk of dying if he is contaminated, he must avoid any contamination because, in case he should not be already immunised (or have sufficient T-cells, but this can be measured after all), if he catches the virus, even without symptom he may get the specific lung lesions which would lower his lung capacity and may force him to re. He certainly knows it and we know him to be prudent, and may be so particularly with international flights, and airports.

Painful moment but he's strikingly beautiful. Like his skating before, by the way.
-
Well, he may return and be quarantined if he has to, but surely not before his usual return to Canada in July, and he may be tempted to move later if there is a chance to avoid completely a quarantine, for instance if athletes are then allowed to enter Canada, to have a semi-quarantined regimen (training with a limited number of people, staying home when not at the rink, and testing regularly from the arrival (or before) to two weeks later).

I wonder about the influence of her agent, Ari Zakarian, in her decisions and communication.

Oh great! I meant just to search his Worlds Helsinki H&L GOEs video.

I really thought you meant, Nathan Chen always sticks with his announced layout, while Yuzuru Hanyu can "YOLO". But then, I don't know if any other skater than YH can "YOLO", maybe apart from downgrading a 3T into a 2T because of Zayak rule in case they did a 3T instead of a 4T at the beginning and have two 3T in combination, but then, it must be a "plan B" they had runs-through with. (Needing nerves and some spare brain though.)

I'm a little bit more optimistic. Whatever belittling we can expect, the 4A will be "really something". It will be very hard for media (because, if judges can pass off with such shameful scores, it is thanks to media narrative, otherwise the outcry would be general) to go on pretending Yuzuru Hanyu is a "skater of the past" overcome by "talented, more athletic youth" (when I see the difference in athleticism, indeed, but the other way! After all, regarding just this difference in athleticism, it is no wonder that a 21-year-old young man is not built yet the way his elder by four years is.) Some, not fearing ridicule (in France, we say "le ridicule ne tue pas" — ridicule doesn't kill), may argue the 4A is only 1.5 more in base value than the "difficult quads", "proving" it is "not that difficult" but it will be too evident that Yuzuru Hanyu is lone in the field. I understand he had it just before Sendai rink closed last time, I suppose he will recover it (though I feel for him, how boring to have to re-learn everything once more), now he will have to jump it while keeping stamina enough for a strong program behind, and without asthma crisis (unless he does it in the short program, I don't know if it would be good tactics). I hope GP season can go on at least partly (if every skater can have one GP assignment, there can be a GPF after all, with special rules for this year), and he can show the blind World who he is.

I bet Yuzuru Hanyu would be perfectly consistent on Nathan Chen's jumps — I mean, with crossover entry, or a little entry at best and a good time before the jump, and little or no transition. Should Brian Orser convince him it is good training, I'm sure he could do any of Nathan Chen's programs anytime, without a fall. While I have always known Nathan Chen could never do any of Yuzuru Hanyu's programs, even with triples instead of quads, even allowing any number of falls; and as somebody here said a few weeks ago, nobody could skate the first 30 seconds of Origin, I would go farther : I wonder if Nathan Chen could skate the first 30 seconds of any of Yuzuru Hanyu's recent programs, even Ballade where the 14 first seconds are still and there is no jump (but probably other skaters could, less beautifully of course). So, we are in a situation of the mere fact of landing more or less (remember than a two-hand-landing by Nathan Chen can get him positive GOEs) easier quads, is scored higher than landing not always (but most of the time) perfectly harder quads. Oh, and as to the consistency which may be rewarded by judges due to their belated equipment, it is the quality of jumps. He really has a perfect consistency there : either his jumps don't pass perfectly because there is a little fault (though often they remain more beautiful than "correct" jumps by some other skaters) and it is perfectly visible, or they pass, and then, judges can be satisfied that they are perfect, can't they?

And I learnt on a video otherwise little interesting, that Alina Zagitova was to start tomorrow in Novogorsk.
-
This with the fact he likes to teach with jokes and make lessons interesting (seemingly, like Daniil Gleichengauz)... May this interview be a sort of act of candidature to replace Sergey Rozanov with Team Tutberidze?
-
I'm sure he's already been informed of its presence on Youtube, and probably watched it.
-
Funny idea but I really doubt Stéphane Lambiel would trust Shoma Uno on this particular point.

His, or his mother's? She used to make him bottle "shirts", matching his programs too.

Thank you so much! Pure beauty!

What Temperature of Yuzu Program Do YOU Like?
SitTwizzle replied to rockstaryuzu's topic in Yuzuru Hanyu
Etude was written for piano, and not very well orchestrated (or played, I am unable to know). Some piano pieces have been really well orchestrated, but I think it is rather the exception, like Weber's Invitation à la Valse by an older Berlioz (the music for The Ghost of the Rose, I sent a video in the Music Talk if I remember correctly). But otherwise I find them either an unappetising gruel, or (particularly when Chopin is ill-treated) a torture. There are so many worthy orchestral works, either Western or Eastern (or mixed). (One could even call Gottschalk Southern in some pieces.) And I sincerely believe Yuzuru Hanyu can credit anything with his skating. -
Oh, sorry, I thought he had already skated it the previous season. So it was a tribute from the beginning?

I find Otoñal has already a Rachmaninoff-vibe. -

This particular judge just followed ISU rules. And the "purple pants" had no transparency. In fact, she was also the judge who gave good marks to Surya Bonaly or Yuka Sato and globally, refused politicking. I rather regret he could not see the program skated to its perfection. Did he give an opinion upon its first season?

What Temperature of Yuzu Program Do YOU Like?
SitTwizzle replied to rockstaryuzu's topic in Yuzuru Hanyu
Should you add a fourth answer, "more than one of these categories" or "all of them", I would vote there. I voted for the "cold" because my preferred program of his remains Chopin, but he excels so much in all others... And about being "hot", even if I don't find him really "hot" (I mean, I find only two men really attractive in the world, fortunately I'm too attracted to the first to be attracted to the second), I do find him charming, while all those guys (actors, singers, models...) who try these movements simply look ridiculous and preposterous. To the point that many times, seeing him in these programs as well as pulling off a top or a respiratory mask, I exclaimed : "so that's what those guys tried to emulate?" I believe it is natural in him. One more fairy on his cradle. ;-) (I note this kind of fairies always come with the "Wicked Fairy Godmother" of extremely hard work and ordeals.) -
Well, I suppose one can appreciate a program and give it the scores it deserves, without liking the music. I think I could even do it to Étude, while my ears cringe when I hear Scriabin poorly orchestrated (well, less than for Chopin, as in Chopiniana ballet). (And I do like Gary Moore. And appreciate Prince's music quality — as a Beotian of course.)
-
I must say, even when considering him working for some time with Team Tutberidze and thinking they would go along rather well, I think I never imagined a real switch, indeed he is so well at TCC. As to PPOS, thank you @rockstaryuzu , now I can understand : I am no angel, so at no risk of falling from Heaven (and that's fortunate because I couldn't skate as well as Alena Kostornaya to go back there ;-) ). I can come back to "another man's" pants for "sin" and focus on Yuzuru Hanyu's skating for artistic emotion and inspiration. I don't like Prince that much, but really, this program, what a wonder! Each step seems a masterstroke, yet the whole so coherent, fluid/smooth, looking so easy... and so entertaining. As a whole I prefer classical music, but Yuzuru Hanyu's two great "Rock" programs, Parisienne Walkways and Let's Go Crazy, are such feats, that I would certainly be very pleased if he had another such short program next season. And, I am sure he's read or heard about PPOS but probably after he had to cease skating this program for independent reasons, so we are not likely to know what he thinks of his most angelic fans' ideas.

Someday, maybe, I'll understand why these pants (quite fitting the program, and these blue iridescence was so nice) are called "of sin" by virtually all fanyus. Note : I noticed Colin Firth's shirt slight transparency in the lake scene in Pride and Prejudice 1995, only the third time, and only because I had read it everywhere. So I may have a handicap. Thank you very much for the link, Fay, I find he improved sooo much between NHK 2016 and Worlds 2017, which I see as "better than perfection" (with that superb recovery in the combo, less bankable score-wise but so beautiful), to the point I see the former as a sort of draft compared to the latter where every movement had found its perfect execution and significance, fit for history.
