  1. I did order ot from HMV Japan on someone's recommendation and found it quite a painless procedure for foreigners.... Now watching the post begins.
  2. Some Dvd players are actually region-free though neither the maker nor the seller can actually advertise them as such. We wanted one because we buy quite a few special DVDs from the UK/US etc; our current player is a few years old, but I remember simply walking into the store and saying "do you have a region free one?" and without a blink the salesman showed me the right one. Works perfectly fpr all regions. Plus the DVD ripper we have on the computers doesn't care
  3. That is so adorable, I am a puddle of goo here (actually all three boys are adorable but little Nishini's 'mask' bit shows real character for such a littlie. One to watch... after I stop aaaawwwwing over the clip of Yuzu teaching him and that crowd of littlies)
  4. Sorry, did you mean all of the ranks from 1 to 8 as well as 12? That's..... oh wow.
  5. Thank you! I'm not an extravagant person, but I think Yuzu is worth it ps - is there a chance anyone knows the music playing in the ad for the DVD? And that fireworks display!!! As epic and beautiful as the man himself... this has been a wonderful week for fanyus, hasn't it?
  6. And of course totally objective Max is so much one of us....

    Music talk

I'm not a Game of Thrones fan but I am hugely into soundtracks so someone told me (told me) I needed to check out the music. I am now totally wanting someone to use The Night King (probably not for competition, but I don;t care) even if the only skater this boased person can think who could do it justice is... Guess.
  8. Ohhhh, this is gorgeous.... Yuzuru does have the most amazing fan artists (and I speak as someone who has been in different fandoms a long long time, but this one has some of the absolute best I have ever seen)
  9. Is it my imagination, or are we just at the minute having a lovely little rush of examples of how inspirational our Yuzu is to help tide us through the drought?
  10. The thing is, the people from the earthquake areas, both from the 2011 one and later, they all can talk to him knowing he just doesn't sympathise, he empathises, he's been there and knows what they went through better than any amount of well-wishing celebrities and public figures ever can. The 24Hour skates are so much more emotional for that reason...
  11. Our boy as a dragon prince, I can so see that
  12. I agree with... all of this. And they look so joyous....
  13. Again, Yuzuru must occasionally just stop and think, "how is this my life????"
  14. The world needs to find more reasons to get Yuzu wearing traditional clothing....
  15. Maybe he is planning to top Junliet and doesn't want to give everyone the heart attack just yet... Or he's learning from Yuzu.
  16. And named another name...this could get even uglier, they are both brave ladies.
  17. Try copying the URL into a new tab? I sometimes just get a blank black box with "have to watch on youtube" and that was what this one showed, but it was fine then...
  18. Okay, the push to have Yuzuru an important part of Tokyo 2020 had really picked up a notch... that is a lovely tribute.
  19. Both of these tributes are gorgeous... I do hope someone can upload pictures of the exhibition! See, this is what we mean about Yuzuru touching hearts all over the world...
  20. I agree with all this. Yuzuru is an amazingly multifaceted skater and personality, and therefore his appeal to fans both in his own country and worldwide is also multifaceted, there are all sorts of people who admire and love him for all sorts of reasons. I do think (and have said before, not sure if it was here) that Yuzuru also has a unique, oddly vulnerable quality born of what he's had to go through, his courage in doing so and the way he puts his feelings and emotions out to us, and I do think that makes us more protective of him that a sportsman who was big and tough and clearly emotionally armoured (the fact that Yuzuru probably is emotionally more capable and strong than pretty much everyone around notwithstanding). Some fans take it way too far, and attacking that kid for the fact that he didn't scan his post to make sure none of Yuzu's music accidentally showed up -? That's even more way too far. I can understand the impetus, but I wish they wouldn't. I think some of the fringe actually blur the lines between fictional fandom (anime, manga, TV etc) and real people with real feelings. Then again, I recall when I was a teenager watching pop stars on the top music show getting their clothes ripped off by manic fans...
  21. And we promptly all wanted it to be kept... preferably forever.
