  1. Maybe he is planning to top Junliet and doesn't want to give everyone the heart attack just yet... Or he's learning from Yuzu.
  2. And named another name...this could get even uglier, they are both brave ladies.
  3. Try copying the URL into a new tab? I sometimes just get a blank black box with "have to watch on youtube" and that was what this one showed, but it was fine then...
  4. Okay, the push to have Yuzuru an important part of Tokyo 2020 had really picked up a notch... that is a lovely tribute.
  5. Both of these tributes are gorgeous... I do hope someone can upload pictures of the exhibition! See, this is what we mean about Yuzuru touching hearts all over the world...
  6. I agree with all this. Yuzuru is an amazingly multifaceted skater and personality, and therefore his appeal to fans both in his own country and worldwide is also multifaceted, there are all sorts of people who admire and love him for all sorts of reasons. I do think (and have said before, not sure if it was here) that Yuzuru also has a unique, oddly vulnerable quality born of what he's had to go through, his courage in doing so and the way he puts his feelings and emotions out to us, and I do think that makes us more protective of him that a sportsman who was big and tough and clearly emotionally armoured (the fact that Yuzuru probably is emotionally more capable and strong than pretty much everyone around notwithstanding). Some fans take it way too far, and attacking that kid for the fact that he didn't scan his post to make sure none of Yuzu's music accidentally showed up -? That's even more way too far. I can understand the impetus, but I wish they wouldn't. I think some of the fringe actually blur the lines between fictional fandom (anime, manga, TV etc) and real people with real feelings. Then again, I recall when I was a teenager watching pop stars on the top music show getting their clothes ripped off by manic fans...
  7. And we promptly all wanted it to be kept... preferably forever.

    Origin

    "Never underestimate Mister Hanyu."
  9. I think we have to remember that Yuzuru has been at this game since he was little more than a bub (and he's had it rough sometimes) and Brian's been at it longer than Yuzuru's been alive. They know, better than any of us, the way the ISU and judges work or don't. They know if repeating Origin is a gamble, and would have calculated the pros and cons to a fault. They are way better fitted to work out if it's worth it. (Alternately, Yuzu may just love it, music and skate, even with all the pain last year, more than we can know. And if that was the case... why not?)

    Origin

I know people are all saying they were hoping for something new, but a little part of me isn't ready to let Origin go....
  11. I'm swithering. Obviously I would love something new because all the more candies for the fans but on the other hand, a perfect (okay, perfect to humans not Yuzus) Origin would be something to treasure, I loved it from the first (that FAoI encore just reminded me how much) and he has only done it four times. We can hope for a redesigned costume along with the resdesigned layout, surely? Pretty please? But nothing is definite until announced in one form or another...
  12. I was swallowing coffee when I clicked on this and nearly died....
  13. I have no problem with an Origin repeat, but I do think it will be restructured because unlike last year, Yuzu is not starting the season under the blithe impression (the one he appeared to have for all a nanosecond at ACI ) that he is zen and not really concerned with scores....
  14. We don't know yet and like much of the Japanese media will continue to speculate and fret until our ninja prince decides to say something, anything....
  15. {blink} {blink} ... and they say us overseas Fanyus are over the top in our love for him, we really don't seem to be able to compete with his home crowd. Don't you either have to be, ummm, elderly, dead, or the Queen of England to get on banknotes in any country? Mind you, I can see a rush on currency exchanges if it happens....
  16. Just donations of his own money - the Olympic prizes, the book royalties - are over 43,200,000 yen. And also the amount his star status brings in for things like 24Hr and inspiring/encouraging other to help and give... and then there's the non-monetary but undoubted benefits he gives to those who suffered - the faces of those he visits or skates for, from very young to old, show clearly how much it means to them that their own superstar never forgets, still remembers and feels for them no matter what (I admit, watching some of the older 24 shows. I sometimes mist up watching the older fold glowing as they talk to him, or tearing up as they watch him on the ice). And then some people wonder why Japan admires and loves him so much...
  17. The Korean girls do have the most lovely dresses (Eunsoo Lim's last year ) but this one is a cut above even most of them...
  18. Well in the month or so since it was posted, the video of all of his Olympic skates has made over 140,000 views
  19. Right at the end of the broadcast, we got a lift from the last skater he highfived....
  20. He does get a touch shaggy in the off season....
  21. Another FAoI on TV today?
  22. I can see us wanting to pet YuzuCat....
