    Oh I don't like him (I think the Eunsoo-Bell business put the nail in that coffin) but I try to be fair even to people I don't like (well, sometimes)

    I still recall a video of Raf getting Yuzu's autograph, and remember it when he does something off-putting.... of course he wants Nathan to win, I'd think the less of him if he didn't have that loyalty and drive for his own skater (and he hasn't any Oly individual medals for his stable as yet, has he? he'd be hungry for that), but there's no doubting his genuine admiration for Yuzu. Pretty much every top coach on the planet would give all their eye-teeth, a kidney and goodness knows what else to have had the shaping and coaching of him, and pretty much all of them are unstintingly in awe of what he has become.

    Yuzuru, serenely and apparently unconsciously, challenges gender norms by being and wearing exactly what he wants (as in a different way does Daisuke Takahashi IMO) and that - along with his bishonen beauty and contrasted with his athletic prowess - can make men in Western countries uncomfortable, especially as he appeals to both men and women in all kinds of ways, purely asthetic, deeply emotional, and yes, for quite a lot of people, erotically. It's all just another facet of his multi-faceted megastardom. He chooses not to make his private life and preferences any of anyone's business, and that's fine with us...

    I actually rather love rainbow origin, actually (and the idea someone had of the oil slick iridescence) A pity we can't photoshop pink onto his UA, that would really show how it could look...

    Sounds perfectly reasonable to me... and obviously to a lot of other folk I love the genuine care Ghislain always shows (not just to Yuzu) and I get the felling he gives really good hugs.

    I was going to say that maybe Yuzu himself doesn't want to encourage staring, but if he isn't aware of it at every practice....
