Isn't it the same for single skating? For example if all top 5-6 of Ladies single all skate clean, judge can play w GOE/PCs like they want to determine ranking and I can't argue if someone doesn't deserve their rank.

Everyone goes clean but GOE/PCs rewarded might not be the same. It might depend quality of execution, also reputation makes a LARGE part here. It's as subjective (or even more) in ice dance as in single skating. That's why ice dance couples must stay together lifetime to build reputation. About single skating's jump, yes it's always vague like that when it comes to GOE, it's all about which "quality" does a certain judge care more. Do they like big jump w somewhat simple transition, or smaller jump w complex steps? I mean the ISU guide book is already really vague and give judge so much freedom to score in anyway they like. But what irritates me more is judge now gives 0 f*ck to essential issue like take off technique and rotation, which I feel much more important than transition, jump size etc.. Well, they don't even care if the jump is correct anymore I can care less how much transition they prefer lol.

I often address them w 1st name + 1st letter of last name as their last names are all too long and difficult. I can't even 'scherbakova'? Is it right writing? Now we even got 2 Alena K. I'm done

Becuz lots of fs fans can't tell steps and turns even in single skating, so they basically consider sport technique=jumps, artistry=the rest to show on ice. Ice dance without jumps -> without technique -> just some types of arts. This is wrong preconception thou. Steps, turns, lifts, hold, pattern (the last 3 for ice dance) are totally sports techniques that require athleticism (speed, power, resilience etc.) and have a clear guide for scoring just like jumps. It's true there is a larger part of "artistry" here w heavy focus on interpretation and performance. But still, if you don't clear those technical requirements you'll get -GOE just like when u fail a jump. Imo only single skaters w top class skating skills can somehow switch to ice dance, steps and turns in ice dance are at a whole another lvl... Most top ice dance couples spend LIFETIME together to master techniques, ofc their lifetime must worth smt.

The GOAT title itself is SUBJECTIVE. There's NO OBJECTIVE GOAT title at all, really. Cuz no one would EVER agree on a common ground to evaluate a GOAT. If you are not satisfied w what Yuzu have done and think he isn't qualified for your lofty standard of GOAT yet, it is YOUR fault, not Yuzu's. Idk why some Fanyus like to make things so hard for yourself by creating your own unrealistic standard, and at the same time feel contradicted/dissatisfied cuz Yuzu doesn't live up to it
