Honestly things like politics, scoring corruption and all, I heard ENOUGH. Whenever some competition, FS fans (fanyu included) would LOVEEEEEEE to complain about that and make tons of excuse of how things might not happen. So yeah if such things exist then what? Obstacles existed in EVERY competition that he did, and only HE knows what the true problem was. What fans ACTUALLY know btw? And If we don't know anything for sure why cannot have some belief in what he can deliver? What makes me disappointed in some fanyu is sometimes they don't even dare to believe smt in him. When he went to the Oly, oh yeah the situation is unfavorable, he might or might not win, but it's ok. When he enters the next career period after 2OGMs, well it's very hard for him to win anything cuz judge would give candies to other young skaters. I mean ppl trust that "corruption" hypothesis even more than Hanyu, sigh. It's not a demand, cuz if he doesn't deliver someday, it's just smt very normal for an athlete. But I'm sure before it happens, Hanyu doesn't want to hear things like "You might get silver but that's ok" from ppl around him, for the competitions that are SO important to him like Nats/Worlds/Oly.

see above post. You guyz really lack so much confidence in him, you can't believe he can win over Shoma, how can you believe he can win anymore GPF/Worlds/4CC? You always say JSF mistreat him, but did Shoma ever win anything over Yuzu? I believe they wont drag him down yet, not when he's still the one w better international recognition. When his internation record is DONE, then I believe they'll bring Shoma up in Nats.
-
Yes? But isn't it the easiest one for him, no? The Jpn Nats has the tendency of 'senior comes first', and give scores that don't make sense lol, I know they like Shoma a lot but I don't see he'll overtake Yuzu soon. Not when his 2nd OGM is still fresh.

Skaters dont 'represent' their country in gpf, just themselves. In worlds, you and your teammates compete to get slots for your country in next Worlds, next olys, and prob gps next year. It helps your country's skating field in the most direct way. Being chosen to represent your country in Worlds is smt to be proud of. Gpf is a harsh competition, but its more like battle of the experts, cuz only the high lvl ones get gp, dont even mention gpf. Audience is not the same, countries w underdeveloped skating field might not care gpf cuz their skaters dont even get a gp, but if their skater suddenly got good result in Worlds it might be a new page for the sport in the country. Common ppl dont know what is a gp, but everyone knows worlds champ and oly are big deal even if they dont watch it or know its historic records Over the years gpf is becoming no less competitive than Worlds. But well worlds and oly are stil most important comps, u cant argue their reputation.

Nats title is always piece of cake for yuzu even when he didnt do well so its not necessarily important for his competitive spirit. Its important for him as a Japanese thou, considering his love for his country and after all, normal Jpn might not know wth is grand prix or 4cc. Ofc as pro athletes, worlds, 4cc, gpf are where to get true recognition in the field and he has to pay good effort to get result. Worlds and oly are important to him both as an athlete and a Jpn. I dont care 4cc anymore at this point, oly is far off, and nats is given (i dont want to imagine how kuyashii he is if lost in Nats, like super pissed? There goes his domestic reputation, which is kinda a shame for a jpn. Losing is unlikely thou). I just keep my sole focus on worlds and gpf.

Its not only a history thing. Worlds is supposed to be (2nd) most imporant comp becuz most skaters around the world are given a chance to attend and supposed to do their best in a common ground. And they dont skate for themselves but represent their countries. Just imagine the scale, the pressure and responsibility! Like u cant say Oly is not as important as Gpf cuz its a one time event? Honestly cuz its one time event, the pressure even builds up bigger, u have no chance to recover or to say smt like 'i do better next comp' like gp. I'm sure Yuzu consider Worlds over Gpf too, just like any athlete. I rmb he said smt along the line, Nats, Worlds, and Oly are most important events to him.

Think about it, now Yuzu still has chance to win 4cc as he's still competing, while javi's career is done w/o GPF title. Yuzu 4cc curse isnt the worst lol.

Depends of lvl of skaters each period. European Men are not strong these days, it's basically Javi w friends. It's another story w ladies thou, true bloodbath of Russian ladies. Still, it's a very important (must-attend) event for all European skaters for its historic prestige. GPF is ALWAYS a highly competitive event (even if some top skaters withdraw etc, the comp is still super intense). While ECC or 4CC are just local events with competitiveness depending on local skaters' lvl, GPF most of the times picks out the hottest skaters atm (thru preliminary round aka the GPs).

He' both. He said in the conference after oly 'artistry must be built on foundation of master of techniques'. Also rmb in his bio book, he insisted to land 4lo not becuz no one landed it yet, but becuz he wanted to master an expression of a whole big picture (the whole program). So far he expressed he liked Shizuka, mao, yuna, also praised Evgenia for her consistency. But Shizuka is prob the biggest influence on him, his signature wide spread leg ina bauer was tribute to her(just like the Bielmann spin is tribute to Plush). He expressed his gratitude and admiration for her many times.

I feel he only watches smt that he can learn/benefit from it, not for the purpose of giving opinion like casual viewers. Just rmb how much he keeps an eye on his competitors: chan, javi, shoma, boyang nathan etc. and always on point when saying about their skating. I can get he watches pairs and ice dance cuz they might offer some different qualities not often seen in single.
-
Ofc w his competitive spirit yuzu would go for the top of the podium. Going Oly is such an exhausting journey theres no way he would make it little like only a goodbye stage or so. [admin edit: speculation]

Kosto plans to debut her 3A in JGPF. Wish her luck!

I couldnt imagine Sota would get the host GP even after he won Asian Open but here it is. I'm very happy for him, it would be so meaningful to skate in NHK.

Plush is exhilarated

Read this translation, how can any fan "criticize" his choice for whatever reason? I mean you can like the music or not, but it's prob the first time ever he chooses them with purpose of "rewarding himself". Not a grand vision, a lofty ideal or a ground breaking program the GOAT skater Yuzuru has the responsibility to deliver like all previous times, this is just smt baby Yuzu truly loved. If you doubt his choice, or think it might not suit his current status, you really don't understand him.
-
Why do I feel he alr succeeded landing 4A in practice and just wait to settle it in the competition... I mean the common sense is you don't like to mention what you can't do yet at the moment so specifically
-
4A can come anytime... Tie your seat belt

Plushy and Johnny when hearing Yuzu will do tribute to their programs:

Yuzu's Nijinsky: source So sexy

Would he ask Johny for SP costume??? Pls not Btw I saw both perfs and listened to the music again and again. I do love both. I can totally imagine pull them off, those dramatic music definitely would bring an emotional and nostalgic atmosphere for the arena.
