Yeah, the "q" is dumb, we'll see it used on skaters who underrotate but are favored, while we'll see < used for skaters who aren't favored... My question is, they already had prerotation in the rules about the toe axel...how is this different and will it apply to flips and lutzes?

And good for him, lol.
-
not that he isn't strong, but actualy the shoot-the-duck is a basic skating move: (lmao) on another note, guess who appears for a split second
-
Yeah, he barely competed. But I just wonder what happened.

Anna is really good, lol. But half of them don't know what's going on.

I saw a rumor that Alexey Erokhov is retiring 👀

......why drag Yuzu into this? I guess that shows how important he is, his name is just included in word salads nowadays

It sounded like she was only trying not to imply a lack of appreciation to me. Cuz we all know Eteri likes to be praised by her students. It could have meant something very different, for example Eteri not letting Evgenia upgrade her tech and telling her that she would still win if she skated clean. Of course, that turned out to be wrong. And of course, it remains a mystery if Evgenia could have been able to do so in the first place, but she probably would have taken the risk if she knew she would lose to a clean Alina. To Eteri, though, she probably wanted Evgenia to skate clean and win in case Alina did not deliver. Both skaters skating risky programs may have meant she loses out on the OGM entirely.

She literally says in your link that she doesn't think it's important which coach goes with her to competition, so it doesn't sound like she prefers Eteri really. And "Why did you let Alina win?" in no world / to no sane person implies "Why didn't you keep Alina in juniors?"; to say that Evgenia asked her this in the k&c is just an outright lie to get people to hate Evgenia on Eteri's part.

I also got 9/10 Alina also seemed totally disinterested in "her" drama, lol ETA: ETA x2: Tbh before this drama, I had NOT heard of Sergey Rozanov AT ALL. And now i'm learning he's responsible for all the quads and 3As?! Which, tbh, Eteri gets ALL the credit for? No wonder he wants to leave! I read this interview (https://sport24.ru/news/other/2020-05-07-yevgeniy-plyushchenko-intervyu-o-perekhode-aleksandry-trusovoy-i-sergeya-rozanova) (credit for translation from this post @ Medvedeva Nation): Honestly I have never seen him or heard about him, and I'm sure that's a big reason why he is leaving Eteri. And it looks like the skaters are following, because they know that he was the one who helped them achieve quads. As for the second bolded, it sounds like Plushy is willing to abandon some of his shows just to coach her? Well, if he's telling the truth and not just what she wants to hear, this may be good for Sasha indeed. To have a dedicated coach instead of being one of a half dozen top skaters fighting for her coach's attention.

No, It was Eteri who said this, and reading Evgenia's lips confirmed that she did NOT say it.

done!

Let's answer the question once and for all, what is Planet Hanyu's favorite Yuzuru Hanyu Program? VERSUS
-
wHERE?! omg...isn't Dudakov the one who teaches all the jumps?
-
wow! and usacheva is actually one of my favorite skaters of hers
-
There are far too few choices for skaters who don't want to skate with Eteri. This sucks because Trusova's heart is obviously still in it and she has oceans of untapped talent.
-
Wow, this is shocking! TBH it seemed something was up when jumping queen/tiny boss Trusova didn't switch over from dominating juniors to seniors as well as everyone thought. Her skating isn't everyone's cup of tea, but her passion for jumping and her power despite being so small was quite captivating. She didn't look weak on the ice, for sure. I don't think moving to Plush's team will go well, tbh he doesn't seem that involved in coaching, doesn't seem to actually care that much about his young skaters, isn't really great at RusFed politics either, and I wonder why she didn't go to Mishin? At least he's a real coach? (no offense to Plushy or his team) At the end of the day, NONE of them have the influence of Eteri, so it really sucks for Russian skaters because they're stuck between a rock and a hard place, unless they're on top in Eteri's group, which we know is a precarious situation. Or they can afford to go abroad (I really do think Raf would be best one to cultivate her talent AND not be too much of a "downgrade") As for Eteri and Daniil being unable to focus on all their senior skaters -- this comes at no shock to anyone. Of course they have to pick a favorite, at most two. I thought it would be Kostornaia since she's like, everybody's favorite. So Anna Shcherbakova being the favorite, wow. I sort of didn't expect that. But actually of the 3A she reminds me of Alina Zagitova the most in terms of personality, and Alina was also Daniil's favorite, so... I don't know what to expect! And IMO I'd hate to see Trusova not make it to Beijing to most. She actually has real quads (the 4T looks real) and is really a once in a generation skater tbh. If she had a dedicated coach, like a Ravi Walia to Kaetlyn Osmond, what kind of potential could she reach?!
-
omg she is just precious

I don't think skaters usually do a flip on a deep inside edge the way a lutz is done on a deep outside edge. Most skaters do their flip from a 3turn which puts you on a shallow inside edge, which is also how the ISU describes it, I think. I think any inside edge is considered a flip as IMO a flip is more like anything that's not a lutz, although I guess if the edge is unclear there may be calls.

Yeah, I guess I don't think anyone needed to wait til Apr 20 to know that FaOI was probably gonna be canceled.
-
Huh really. I feel like they were going to invite her or maybe already have. Maybe it just wasn't public yet.

I think it's this post. This person says this image was taken in Niigata. I can't verify the images so take it with a grain of salt, I guess.

I still think this situation is salvageable if she apologizes now and hops on the next chartered flight back to Russia. We're all willing to give her the benefit of the doubt for not understanding the severity given how unusual this situation has been for everyone and the cultural/language barrier. In fact, many of us will respect her for being able to admit that she's wrong. But it looks like she closed all Instagram comments and deleted her Twitter, so seems like she's staying? If that's the case I hope she at least learned to stay in her hotel and not go traveling to other cities in search for ice.
