I don't think skaters usually do a flip on a deep inside edge the way a lutz is done on a deep outside edge. Most skaters do their flip from a 3turn which puts you on a shallow inside edge, which is also how the ISU describes it, I think. I think any inside edge is considered a flip as IMO a flip is more like anything that's not a lutz, although I guess if the edge is unclear there may be calls.

I still think this situation is salvageable if she apologizes now and hops on the next chartered flight back to Russia. We're all willing to give her the benefit of the doubt for not understanding the severity given how unusual this situation has been for everyone and the cultural/language barrier. In fact, many of us will respect her for being able to admit that she's wrong. But it looks like she closed all Instagram comments and deleted her Twitter, so seems like she's staying? If that's the case I hope she at least learned to stay in her hotel and not go traveling to other cities in search for ice.

I don't think any govt has been demanding the return of its citizens because of the virus, including Russia? I think many of them offer chartered flights for people who do want to come home but are stranded, but if you don't want to leave, I hardly think they keep track of every citizen of theirs and are able to force them on a plane, nor do I think they would try.

LOL! i think the visitor count is so high because we sometimes get tens of thousands of bots crawling our site at once. we used to reset it back to 0 so that it wouldn't be just a fake number, but it happened so often that we gave up lol

Oh HELL no. TES is the only way skaters can determine their fate (even if only partially) or at the very least increase their scores. Lessen its value and skaters that are favored will just get politicked to 100 PCS and never face a challenge ever again. At least it'll come into effect after Beijing when I probably won't be that invested in FS like, at all, but who knows, maybe Yuzu will still feel like not retiring then...

Not really, premed is just getting good grades and having extracurriculars (of which, figure skating can be one) and recommendations letters. (Some) ivies make it very easy to get good grades and hence you'll see on forums and stuff for graduating high school students that it's extremely advantageous to be able to attend Harvard, Yale, etc. over state schools and schools with grade deflation because your GPA will naturally be higher for the same amount of work. You don't even have to be a "pre-med" major; in fact, there's no such thing. Any major can apply for med school if you have the prereqs and take the MCAT.

Let's be real, ivy leagues (well, some of them) aren't known to have difficult exams.
