  1. the more he trusts you the more you get to hug his hips/ manhandle him?
  2. bad hotel wifi blocked me from seeing these ruffles, never have I been more grateful for bad wifi....
  3. well, I have the edea one. The rocker feels the same as my actual skates for turns, but for spins I end up too far towards my toes on the spinner.
  4. So, Brian suffered more hair loss from the quad loop than a 4A, did I read this right?
  5. I hope spain seriously considers taking the lead in developing figure skaters in western europe. There is not that many outside of ice dance, and I for one do not understand why that is the case.
  6. Never got the hang of it for spins, but used it for footwork and turns practice.
  7. isn't Brown a substitute? But there is Rippon.
  8. If he starts coaching perhaps he can revive that project and start a training school in ernest like Stephane Lambiel. Then perhaps we will see more skaters emerge out of western europe.
  9. wonder what it would be like if this forum ever got together and gave him a fan photobook? Gather all our photos in it, since we do have some pretty good photographers.
  10. hydroblade, this is amazing. Will we chain them up as a banner for aci?
  11. well doubt he will land quints soon. Yes Yuzu, do not follow my theoretical musings....
  12. Something like that....won't show it until he thinks it can match Boyang's....but I thought he's been fooling around with all of his quads since he could land a 4T? But then I think the toe jumps would be easier than the edge jumps since the toe assists help with the height and distance. And much as Yuzu is a stronger edge jump, his toe jumps aren't exactly weak....his lutz is quite niiiiceeee....
  13. Well he has to...otherwise the hair will go even faster. It's a coping mechanism. The real quints start with the flip, because there's a pivot/prerotation on ice for all the other jumps. Granted there is a bit of a pivot too for the flip, but not quite as much as the other jumps to really reduce the in-air rotations closer to a 4A. Also I imagine if he really does go for them, his team would make him use a harness at the start until his air alignment is good. I trust in Yuzu's air-alignment, even when he misses a landing, his landings don't seem to be the type that's due to mis-alignment. Over-rotation or underrotation more likely. That's probably also why he pops jumps though- he doesn't really muscle through his jumps, and is very fastidious about his alignment when taking off, so he needs to worry less when he's in air.
  14. This season is a bit too new for a 4A, he's likely to use that as a secret weapon after they reduce the jumping passes. But yeah, it'd be more surprising if we hear news of Yuzu saying "I have a fairly stable 4 Flip now." But if he does have a 4A then, it's not too far from a 5T...I mean a 5T is about 4.5 rotations in the air, less than that even since you do pivot a bit over 90 degrees on ice....okay, I'll go now before people faint....
  15. I do wonder what his total airtime is for his 3A. There was a website that mentioned airtime, and minimum jump height needed for different jumps.
  16. oh there are still 4A and 4-4 combos for him to chase. Besides, his idol went three cycles, and he also sees now how pchan and javi remain competative at amuch older age. He would at least want to test the new rules, or maybe try for the first three-peat....
  17. Question, anyone have a lot of gifs of his jumps?
  18. Cords of some sort for alignment practice? I remember seeing rinkmates given yoga balls or inflated beach balls to tweak in-air alignment.
  19. This calls for a MAD...and somehow I foresee using Magenta or Fuchisia when we release the inner Yuzu diva....my mental eyes are bleeding...
  20. For some reason I could see Queen's music as an Ex fitting well with him... But that "rough masculinity" line reminds me of Kenji no Heya where they talked about ideal types and Yuzu's own complex about his features being too delicate and plain. So on the next episode of Kenji no Heya. Kenji: So that was why you were okay with doing Let's Go Crazy to Prince? Yuzuru: Hai. Well maybe it was due to my complex over my more delicate style....so I thought maybe it's a good chance to try out a more rough masculinity style of skating... Kenji:.......
  21. The translation makes more sense. @gladi thank you for the awesome translations as always! I love LGC, I love Hope and Legacy, but if I had to chose, I would have also picked Ballade and Seimei over the 16/17 programs. Much as I love LGC, it was also a program that had an "acquired taste" feeling to it. Unlike Ballade, I only gradually liked LGC and all its nuances. On the other hand, Ballade's intensity captured my attention right from day 1. Yes, probably skating to Chopin does fit into a stereotype of what figure skating is, but with Yuzu's performance, what a beautiful stereotype to behold. If I had to choose, hard as it is, I think Ballade's intensity fits Yuzu more than LGC. @Hydroblade you seriously want LGC as an ex at ACI? Really?! I think you declared the possibility of fainting several times just to Seimei hydroblade, what if you have to witness a zusa to your general direction? Are you ready to faint that many times? Not sure if we have enough smelling salts for ya....
  22. I think we're just trying to distract everyone from the Finlandia talk, with sprinkles of paprika....
  23. that could work, or maybe tell him that paprika would help him finally get that elusive skate canada gold....
