  1. I have to say I am really happy not only for his choices (i liked always so much that FS of Plushy) but - more - because he chose them: you can feel finally a sense of acomplishment that he is starting to realize, and also he understood what is the right thing to do as human being and athlete in this point of his life, i.e. something for himself without the pressure of the thought of the others (also if I am not sure he will really able completely to do it). Wel done Yuzu! I hope you can really enjoing your time, and the process to accomplish your next goal: an insanely beautifull 4A
  2. We already know who will be his coach? Mishin?
  3. Yes Yata, speaking of Carolina you are right, but the field of senior ladies in the last years has been a little more stagnating than the men's field. We will see: I am also very curious. I hope just the there will be not nasty things from fans, like happend in the past.
  4. From one point of view I am happy that a very good perfomer and good skater like Daisuke want to come back. From another point of view I am a little disappointed for the new emerging skaters, that will risk to suffer for this. And frankly I do not understand very well his decision: maybe Japan has not a strong third competitor - yet - but the first two ones are who they are, aka the best in the world. And i did not understand also the motivation coming to him from Nats 2017 he has mentioned: maybe for a problem of nuance in the translation? Can someone explain me better or it's just a way to say ? Moreover: it has been not possible really to catch up for Patrick with superior SS, superior Fed (meaning: power), less time break, younger age. So which are his probabilities also with high PCS and with the new rules to be among the top five ?
  5. Yes, that's a beautiful and meaningful comment by Angelo Dolfini (and in Italian it sounds so, so nicely). And it's also in some way what Yuzu said in recent times about how he intend his jumps/technical elements, if I recall correctly.
  6. It seems to me that this beautiful video has not been posted yet here: Yuzuru Hanyu 羽生結弦: Signature Moves by Henni147 (and he/she promised also a part 2...)
  7. A revisitation of a "classic" good combination, IMO: Yuzu and OOR. Here you are --> Road to Pyeongchang-YUZURU HANYU × ONE OK ROCK/完全感覚dreamer (羽生結弦×ワンオクロック) short MAD, by kana kolo
  8. After a lot of videos with epic/fighting/glorious music, a new celebration video for the second olympic gold on the notes of a ballade: 羽生結弦【MAD】平昌五輪金メダルおめでとう yuzuru hanyu 2018 PyeongChang Olympics Gold Medal Congratulations!! by Yuzu Honey
  9. Very nice video indeed @getsurenka. The first part is more on point with the accents of the music, but in general is very well done. And also the song is very fitting to our boy and what he was saying about himself during this Oly. Finally, there is an inevitable video using the song of YOI "History maker", by NakaMina:
  10. Uh?! Why I cannot understand this kind of things...? Maybe I can comprehend (but not justify ) this attitude from the fans of Dai because of their "history", but also Mao's fans now? It's a pity for a country with many big talents to appear so divided and fighting for their recognition. To give this award to Yuzu doesn't mean that the contribution of Dai and Mao to the development and the popularization of FS in Japan is lesser; on the contrary... I thought that people would be happy also because is a sign of recognition for FS in the country more in general.
  11. In the meantime for people who can read / understand Russian, here another great analysis by Yulia of Yuzu 's Oly SP: https://ametist-95.livejournal.com/9060.html
  12. I found this interesting view of Alena's SP at Oly (the complete performance by the aerial/roff angle view): do you know if there is something like that for the entire SP of Yuzu and/ or the other top men? Thanks in advance!
  13. @yuzupon I agree with you (and Yuzu ). That's way in my signature I wrote a sentence taken from a commentary of Dolfini of some times ago when he said that the tecnical movements or elements of Yuzuru are just poetry. In Italian it sounds beautifully and I don't know if English can properly reflect the meaning and the nuances the remark has in the original language. I cross post also here the few sentecences I wrote in the general chat about the second part of the commentary. If nobody will translate the other part of this interesting commentary, focused on the steps and coreographic movements before the solo jump in the SP, in the next days I can also do that. In the meantime and very briefly here: in this second part they say that while Yuzu has a "continuum" of coreographic movements and steps, with also and difficult entry and exit in the for the 4S, stressing the actual flow between TR and the element, others have steps but easier - Javi - and/or not so close to the jump - Shoma, with a sort of interruption before the element. Paradoxically Shoma has a more difficult entry to the combo. So the conclusion for them is the same: "Hanyu is not rewarded enough for what he actually does on the ice" in comparison to the others, and very probably the introduction of the new system of scoring with a wider range of GOE is to reward the quality of skaters like him. At the end they make some general statements about the result of SP and what to possibly expect for the FS and the attribution of the medals. I have to say that the remarks they do about the steps etc.., before the solo jump in the SP go in the same direction of some of the videos about this argument released before Oly, such these:
  14. Yes, thank you @WinForPooh, and I saw @meoima already found it there. However, if others satellites want to read the summary of the first part on the Planet, they can find it here: https://planethanyu.com/topic/44-general-skating-chat/?do=findComment&comment=178795 If nobody will translate the other part of this interesting commentary, focused on the steps and coreographic movements before the solo jump in the SP, in the next days I can also do that. 15. Dear @Xen thank you so much for the translation of Zhao interview and for all these infos about skating environement but also education system in China: our countries are all so different in these departements and to have first hand informations is very interesting. About the video of Max and Angelo and the Boyang's 4Lz (5.30-7.20 ca.): from the infographic maybe you can understand that they look first at the edge of the left foot, also to explain to non expert people which is one of the characteristics of the lutz, and they say that Jin has a correct edge lutz. Then they make people notice the right foot and how the skate point into the ice correctly to rotate and jump, i.e. with the toepick and with a minimum, if not, prerotation on the ice. After that they stress also the height of this 4Lz and the position of the body in the air - correct body alignment and the peculiar position of the arms, very similar to a diver. The conclusion is that it was a textbook jump. After that they make a comparison with Dima's 4Lz (8.04-9.43) noticing that while his edge there was also correct, the right foot give the push to jump using the blade and with a clear prerotation (almost 180°) on the ice. Also the landing is shorter of something more than 90°. For them this is not a Lutz but a Loop/ Rittberger and with a big pre-rotation and a slight UR: so it should have counted in the scores not as a proper 4Lz, but actually as a little more than a 3Lo. At the end they stress the fact that actually the high quality 4Lz of Boyang received just 1.86 while Dimitri had 1.57; they also explained that maybe it was so because for both skaters 4Lz is in combination with a 3T, and we have to take in consideration that the score is for the entire combination. In every case they would have given an higher score to Jin for this element (at least a full +2). Then they make similar observation on Shoma's 4Flip (11.35-13.05 ca.): first they make notice the different edge in comparison with the Lz, for people watching FS only at Oly and maybe not knowing that, concluding that the edge here was correct. Then they observe also here the clear prerotation (in the slow-mo very clear). Also here with that sort of the use of the entire blade/edge and the prerotation. So: it had to be counted as a 3Lo or - at least - as a 4Lo; if counted also as a 4Lo, anyway, in the LP/FS should be counted as a REP, because in that case Shoma has also a 4Lo, while this is never happened. However, throughout this section of their commentary, they also stated that rules don't take in consideration the problem of the prerotation but only of the URs; that's why TP don't call PR but just UR. In doing so, the current system in the end penalizes the skaters with a correct and clear jumping technique - as Yuzuru or Boyang - in respect to the others. Or, at least, skater with a correct jumping technique should be rewarded more in the scores (GOEs) in comparison with the others. To note: this is my summary of a part of the video and not the literal translation of what they said there.
  16. With an initial praise of Yuzu's performance, a very interesting analisys of Max Ambesi and Angelo Dolfini after the men's short program at the OG (by the SashaWitchProject on Vimeo, posted first in YHfbgroup by Alessandra Montrucchio): they look into some elements, explaining also the superiority of Yuzuru (with the conclusion that "Hanyu is not rewarded enough for what he actually does on the ice" quoting Max). But also their comparison between the 4Lz of Boyang and Dima is interesting and the image used for that are very clear, for example. And their thoughts about prerotations, steps before the solo jump, scoring, judging...and so forth. I post it here also if is in all in Italian: I hope that you can understand the main things said, but I am sure the english translation will follow soon (or if not some of the Italian people of the Planet can could do it): https://vimeo.com/257697202
  17. So...is there no one that can give us a quick translation/ summary of it?
  18. Just sent my little contribution for the current year via PayPal (and thank you so much for your hard work!)
  19. Frankly, I'd have expected more MADs about Yuzu's 2nd OGM victory. However, this is one still following the line of the storm-thing: You're the storm!【2014 Sochi/2018 PyeongChang Olympic Recap】by Irin the Pooh:
  20. So, about the top men performances at this Oly: what are your thoughts seing them more in details, starting from SP? And in particular about Yuzu's one? I have just rewatched it in different videos and I have to say that it was really magical! An other dream performance, so beautiful and certainly Olympics worth . Comparing with his performance at ACI here the judges gave him lower GOE for the 4S (I would have gave him +3 as ACI, while at the end he received 2.71) and also for the first 2 sets of spins (1.10 and 1.50 at ACI vs. 1.00 and 1.43 at Oly: but to me they were as good as the ACI ones), while they gave him something more for the StSq, rightly lv4 (1.96 at ACI vs. 2.10 - the max. - at Oly). I agree for a slightly lower GOE on the combo and also listening to Dolfini for the Lv3 for the last spin. Ice coverage and speed were good as usual (maybe just some parts a little slower tha ACI?). The PCS at the end were quite similar: 48.55 at ACI vs. 48.50 at Oly. In the first case there were only nine 10.00s, while in the second they were ten. However, while at Oly he had something more for SS (9.71) and PE (9.86 ), really I cannot understand how two judges gave him 8.75 (J7 = RYAN of Australia, who gave 9.00 to Javi and Shoma, 9.75 to Patrick, and 8.75 to Nathan...!) and 9.00 (J1= our dear DELFA of Spain, who gave 9.50 in TR to Javi..ahem) for TR: the first didn't count at the end, but the second yes, resulting in the total of 9.43 for TR. And we all know how much more he does in this compartment in comparison to the others... Also for IN and CO I would have gave him a little more, as at ACI. At the end I would have give him: +0.29 for 4S; at least a +0.20 for the first two spins; + 0.25 for TR and + 0.10 at least for IN and CO = tot. 111.68 + 0.84 > 112.52; so a not so bad judging, thinking also to his skating order (also if this should not count, but we know...). So, it was mostly the level of the last spin - 0.50 missing for a new world record, that IMO after that skate he was maybe expecting, judging from his reaction in K&C (also if Brian prepared him not to have it in change for gold) . What do you think about it? And What are your opinion on the SP of Javi, Shoma and Boyang, and in a different way because of the bad day/skate, of Nathan? I don't want to make any polemic or what else, or bash any of those beautiful skaters, but just to discuss friendly among us about some "details" that here didn't matter that much (luckily), but that could be still relevant in a general perspective.
  21. Wow: I didn't remember that the skaters were not hugging and were also smiling so little at each other. What a difference with this Oly's podium!. I have to say the the top men have shown a magnificent attitude as athletes and as persons here: kudos again to them.
  22. Yes, I can undertand well. But because, as you said, his team has been so important to help him to fulfill one of his most important dreams overcoming this difficult period, they really deserve praise and recognition (you found the rights words) from us. I have not particular ideas about that, but I am Italian and also if Yuzu will not go to Milan for Worlds, I will go for sure on Friday and Saturday. So, If I can help in some way, let me know about it.
  23. And this fits perfectly with the last MAD I posted in the thread of fan made videos just before his Oly comps : "Eye of the storm" by smal58
  24. I have just caught up looking at all the pics, gifs and videos uploaded and the interviews already translated: I have no words to describe what Yuzuru, his team and his family (and mostly mama Hanyu) have done. Yuzuru is a true champion and a great person: luckily for him, he is supported by true champions, in sport and in life. So I am totally with Ambesi in this: Yuzu is a living legend and we are really blessed to have him now (to me he was a true legend already before and also without second gold Oly but, you know, in some other parts of the world it seems so hard to recognize it). I would also like to thank all the satellites of this Planet for all the infos, videos ( @Raomina you are my savior!), translations and emotions shared in the last days: Yuzuru truly deserves a so passionate and generous fandom
