It looks lovely indeed but... Why does the DVD include 6 different versions of Chopin but not a single Let's go Crazy performance? Yuzu, don't disrespect your best SP like this
-
In that case they'd just tell him "go ahead"; they're already indirectly encouraging him to do so. But this sport is his life and he won't r* until he's achieved the lifelong dreams he has left (4A, his ideal Origin, maybe 4F and Beijing..). He's motivated to keep going and it's heartbreaking to think that his only options might be either retiring or being robbed of medals.

I wholeheartedly agree!!! I don't think he should spend his youth dealing with ISU politics. That would be a waste of his talent... I'm aware that this sounds selfish though- he doesn't own us anything. First and foremost he should prioritise his own health, happiness and personal goals. But if you ask me, my selfish wish is for him to keep performing for years to come. I'd love to watch him explore new styles and genres of music that he hasn't had the chance to try in competition. I could watch him skate for hours even without spins or jumps. He should produce his own ice show or bring back CiONTU; tour around Japan and maybe around the world too. Honestly, he has enough impact to hold a successful one-man ice show. I'm sure that would sell better than future ISU competitions without him -lol. That is just what I would like to see personally. Overall, to me he should keep performing and skating for as long as he wants and is able to. He'll have more than enough time to start coaching and/or become ISU president when he's older.

If it does happen, I surely hope it takes place after Yuzuru decides to retire. I'd hate to see him having to adapt to this clownery.

This excellent post was written by an anon on another forum. I'm bringing it here because I think it hits the nail on the head. It's made me appreciate Yuzuru's Olympic victories even more: "Just take a look the Olympic male champions in the eight Olympics before Sochi and its clear Figure Skating had always been just a game for US and Russia only in the men's field. We are just reverting back to how things were. Hanyu is the anomaly that shouldn't have existed, but was allowed to for a while only because prior to Chen there were no decent US nor Russian men. Now he is TOTALLY in the way. It was the same for female really. Mao or Kim was allowed to shine for a while due to lack of US or Russian ladies, but the moment there is one, you saw how Yuna lost gold at Sochi. Hence, I don't blame Hanyu's reluctance to commit to Beijing - he knows even if he skates clean, the judges will do everything to make him lose. The only way he can win is if every top Russian and US men blew up. If anyone of them have a cleanish skate - Kim's fate will likely repeat itself"

Of course. 100% agree. Just to clarify, my comment wasn't a serious suggestion for him at all, lol. I find Yuzuru's integrity and his approach to training totally admirable. He's a great role model for other skaters. I'm just pointing out how absurdly unfair the judging has been...

Yuzu is currently almost breaking his body to achieve 4A when he could just get a U.S citizenship... If the USA flag were next to his name, he could just perform a 3x3A program and one of those triples would be ratified as 4A

That second jump is literally a 1A. I don't understand why it was marked as a 2T. Not even a UR call?

Their golden boy Shoma benefited from selective UR calls at the Olys, which lead to him unfairly beating Javier for Silver (Javi himself agrees, he's made that clear in Spanish interviews). So I'm sure jpn fed are not interested in complaining about this issue.

those who've read my annoying repetitive posts on here know how much I'd want him to skate to BoRhap ... that'd be my dream Yuzu program. thus this video is so satisfying to watch
-
The fact that he's so busy with his quints, nessies, flip Axels or whatever, yet he also dedicated his time to research about this... His attention to detail is extraordinary.
-
Is he actually allowed to perform Nessie in the short? I thought it'd be an invalid element? I might be wrong though
-
I like this idea! I agree the best design posted so far is "WE YUZU" with the flag inside the heart. But I think it'd be even better if we came up with something a bit more original, something that he'll be surprised to see. Perhaps a banner with a GOAT reference? Nessie reference? Something like this: Personally I'm from Argentina and I'm not able to attend any fs competitions (it'd be a dream come true). I'm sure most South American Yuzu fans feel this way too. I'd appreciate it if some fans could carry banners on behalf of satellites who love Yuz from different countries but can't travel to competitions (just a suggestion).
-
but I've found footage of Javi discussing nessie in March 2019! (this entire interview is hilarious) *15:50 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=plRIGIZgiG4 they were talking about the evolution of triples and quads* Interviewer: Is anyone trying quintuples now? Javi: Not yet. They're actually playing with the quadruple axel, which hasn't been performed before. I: No one has done it before? So who's coming close to doing it? Tell us so we can invite him to our show Javi: *smirks and shrugs* I don't know his expression was funny lol we know whom he had in mind

I'm really glad to see Origin back... I expected it 100%, Yuzu is not the type to give up on a program until it's been skated to its full potential. Wish he had this same energy for LGC though... as a LGC stan I had a tiny bit of hope to see it again- to me it's the best choreographed & most difficult SP ever so it is the one that deserves to hold the WR. I love Otoñal but it'll be very hard to surpass the wonderful performances of it that he's done already (I believe Yuzu could do it though).

2019/20 GP Assignments
ICeleste replied to sallycinnamon's topic in Knickknacks: General Skating Chat
Yuzu and Misha will be competing at the same two GPs... And they got relatively easy competition there... so they'll probably podium together Plus Skate Canada will be on October 27th- the best birthday present to me if everything goes smoothly (I hope), it won't be too hard for Yuzu to finally get that sweet SC gold. but if Kolyada beats him I'll be happy too. it's a win-win for me. edit: Dai might be at NHK too?? my three favorite male skaters ever possibly competing at the same event. wooo I couldn't be happier about these assignments. -
I'm so glad the Planet is back! Just in time to come here and wish you all a happy Hope and Legacy day (forever salty about the 3.2-million-views video being deleted off Youtube)
-
I've said before that that is the best performance he's done in his entire career and I stand by it. His speed, his incredibly fast, steady and centered spins, his musicality, his sass, his complex transitions and stsq, THAT AXEL- just unbeatable. I bet you no one can name a better 3A done by him. Not to mention it's his SP with the highest jump BV -4Lo, 4s3t, 3a. LGC is the most complex and difficult SP in the history of singles skating, and there he performed it spectacularly (the 4Lo save and his smile after it just enhances the fun of the program)

That angle is killing me how light is he?

I'm afraid this isn't the best idea... I think it's just more convenient to design all the photobook digitally, in a pdf format I mean. And as @Hydroblade said, making a template for the pages. If someone wants to include a handwritten message or a drawing, they should scan it. Then the satellites who have Photoshop/photo editing skills should compile all the photos and messages in order to design the book. Also I think that the "one page per person" idea would be a bit too limiting. In my opinion, if a fan wants to send only a short message they should be able to. It might also be cool to separate the pages by sections, for instance, the first 10 pages, personal fan photos with short messages; next 5 pages, fanart; the following pages "Without Yuzu I wouldn't have _____" messages, etc.

In my opinion, let Yuzu fans enjoy every opportunity they get to watch him perform live... It might be a once-in-a-lifetime amazing experience. There's no need to organize such a boycott... Just wait until he retires, the ticket sales will drop naturally and then they'll realize.

"Positive GOE bullets (which make up the technical or "athletic" score): Jumps 1) very good height and very good length 2) good take-off and landing 3) effortless throughout (including rhythm in Jump combination) 4) steps before the jump, unexpected or creative entry 5) very good body position from take-off to landing 6) element matches the music Spins 1) good speed and/or acceleration during spin 2) good controlled, clear position(s) (inc. height and air/landing position in flying spin) 3) effortless throughout 4) maintaining a centered spin 5) creativity and originality 6) element matches the music Step Sequences 1) deep edges, clean steps and turns 2) element matches the music 3) effortless throughout with good energy, flow and execution 4) creativity and originality 5) excellent commitment and control of the whole body 6) good acceleration and deceleration Choreographic Sequences 1) creativity and originality 2) element matches the music and reflects the concept/character of the program 3) effortless throughout with good energy, flow and execution 4) good ice coverage 5) good clarity and precision 6) excellent commitment and control of the whole body" Please read that and tell me if you still think that Nathan was "excellent" on the athletic side... (or if you think he was even good enough to get the same GOEs as Yuzu). If you think that a program full of crossovers, stiff landings, small ice coverage, shallow edges, etc is "athletic excellence" IDK what to say...
-
Can you guys look at mirakyun's rescoring and honestly say you disagree with it? Could you please stop dismissing my opinion as "biased" for saying that Yuzuru deserved gold...
-
No, I do not think he should always win no matter what. This is the first time I ever argue that Yuzu was robbed of a medal. "Nathan had excellent skates" I don't think so at all. We have very different definitions of excellence... It is a fact that Chen only won because of his inflated PCs and especially his overscored GOE. BTW PCs aren't supposed to be a subjective score, it's not about "being the better artist". The popped Salchow is completely irrelevant. Even if he had landed it he'd still have a silver. I don't like using the word "brainwashed" but that's all I can think about when I read you say Nathan has a "tremendous technical arsenal". Like I mentioned in my previous post, Chen's BV was only 4pts higher in the FS. And do you know that GOE is also a part of the TES? On a fair system, Yuzu should win the highest TES based on GOE. I'm genuinely baffled that even Yuzuru fans don't see anything wrong with the fact that a clean Yuzu would've lost to a skater who barely deserves any +GOE on his jumps and who didn't have a much higher BV. Also please never compare 2012 Yuzuru to current Nathan again... When he turned senior, Yuzuru had to build his way up and fight for every single point, no one gifted him +94 PCs and +3 GOE just for having the highest BV. No one is bullying Nathan, he's a very nice person but he's not a victim, he's the one benefitting from this rigged judging system.
