  1. This sounds great, I'm looking forward to it! I've recently watched the full GPF 2015 for the first time and it was very interesting (it's on Youtube with B.ESP commentary). I think we should watch these too (I haven't seen them yet!): I can't find the GPF 2013 full video but I'd love to see that one especially since Yuzu was the unexpected winner
  2. ETA:.. it... doesn't look bad? but i'd still find him cute even if he were bald so my judgement doesn't count
  3. how frustratingly ironic would it be if he skated LGC clean as an EX on his first try as much as I love Chopin, a clean LGC would deserve to hold the WR in my biased opinion
  4. What does this mean? (sorry, English isn't my native language) how gracious that he stopped to clap for Nathan before leaving...
  5. why did I just picture Yuzuru doing a 3A in Tonya's dress
  6. as long-term Yuzu fans, if any film about him were made, I doubt we could be 100% happy with the final product since it probably wouldn't be totally accurate; besides, nothing could be as incredible as his real story... But even if the movie was flawed, as long as it's not too inaccurate I'd still be thrilled for it since Yuzu definitely deserves that kind of recognition. His inspirational career deserves to be acknowledged and remembered alongside the greatest athletes in the world and in history. It's a shame that figure skating is not the most popular sport, because imo his name is still not as recognized worldwide as it should be (or at least not where I live)
  7. I've read that the I, Tonya filmmakers couldn't find an actress who could land a 3A for that epic scene in the movie... where are they going to find an actor to perform the 4A in Yuzu's film?
  8. his hair looks so soft also, Yuzu, i'm still waiting for a photo with your two OGMs hanging around your neck... please make it happen
  9. Really? Why would you not? That'd be incredible... Unrealistic, but amazing nonetheless
  10. "Up till Sochi, it felt like I was doing it alone. (Tears up) However, when I look back, there isn’t a single competition where I was glad to have done it on my own." "The timing of my rivals’ appearances is also that way. Patrick before the Sochi Olympics was like that, Nathan and Boyang and so forth now are also like that" I find it interesting that he didn't mention Javi here... "It’s my own view, but when you balance the gains and losses in life, I think they’ll eventually sum to zero in the end. Although, whether the ups and downs are great or small – that depends on the person. As for me, the gap between the good and the bad is extreme." wow... this is a quote to live by, it'll definitely stay with me. Yuzu is living proof that with great achievements, come great sacrifices (and vice versa) and his experiences have surely made him so wise. I can't get over how eloquent he is too.
  11. Yuzu be like: I only need 17cm more? easy-peasy
  12. ... COC 2014 though.... that was pretty reckless Though he shares traits of the other houses -like intelligence, courage, bravery and friendliness-, I think his Slytherin side is the most prominent: "Slytherins are crazy ambitious, and lots of the time want to be the best at everything. They have big dreams and the drive to accomplish them. Slytherins are focused on personal achievements rather than idealistic ones. They are very exclusive about who they let close. Slytherins, more so than other Houses, are very picky and selective with who they allow into their inner circle. Slytherins are often self-assured and confident of their own competence."
  13. On the topic of backloading... Notte Stellata is proof that you can do a magnificent and balanced backloaded program, so I wonder why Yuzu has never tried it in competition before. I know he wouldn't have the stamina for a backloaded LP -no multiple-quad-jumper man would- but the SP would be doable, imo. And I know his ideal is to have the jumps flow seamlessly within the program and blend with the other elements but to me, backloaded doesn't always equal unbalanced- imo a good choreographer could make it work without compromising the CO mark. He's one of the few skaters who could definitely make the choreography in the first half interesting enough even without jumps. I suppose the reason is that he might not be able to do the challenging solo quads (4A, 4Ltz, 4Lo) consistenly in the second half. But I think he could pull off a backloaded SP with only 4T and 4S.
  14. I got R&J 1.0! All the descriptions I've read for each result are quite spot on. I find it fascinating how each of Yuzu's programs can be associated with a certain personality, and how the personalities he's portrayed are so different from each other. I don't think you could make a quiz like this about many other skaters' programs because most skaters tend to have a certain style that they stick to. But one of the things that makes Yuzu so great is how versatile he is as a performer. I'm really looking forward to him trying yet another style or genre of music next season
  15. Yuzu be like: i already have 2 OGMs so now my next goal is a Grammy
  16. do I need to start saving for a future Yuzu concert?

i NEED Yuzuru to skate to this
  18. Since the topic came up I'll describe my own experience and reaction that night.. I wasn't into FS during Sochi- I only became a fan in 2016 and since then I'd been wondering how crazily I'd react to seeing him win the Olympics. I thought I'd have to wait until the last skater's score to suddenly freak out but it was nothing like that. After Seimei finished, I was stressed about the two tiny mistakes he had made since I knew his main rivals had the benefit of skating last and Javier was only 4 points behind him. I was too anxious to keep watching so I just closed the stream and totally missed Javi's performance. I found out through reading the Planet that his TES wasn't enough because of the pop and I was partially relieved. Then I knew Shoma needed 213 and I remember googling his PB and finding out it was 214. I thought he could do it because they'd gone crazy with Chen's LP score before- and my about that came back for a moment. But I kept reading the Planet and suddenly after Shoma fell, everyone announced Yuzu as the OGM. I was in disbelief but I slowly started convincing myself satellites' assessment was right and I opened my stream again only when I was sure Zu would win. I didn't want to get my hopes until I saw the actual results. The Yuna 2014 scandal made me believe that ISU didn't like the idea of a back-to-back Olys champion so, even if the last two skaters had made mistakes, more than anything I was scared they'd inflate their PCs/GOEs and that'd make the difference. I opened the stream just after Shoma finished skating. All of the anxiety and worry went away once they showed the scores and Yuzu crying which made me tear up too. And seeing all the celebrations afterwards just felt surreal and too good to be true
  19. If they applied this in the singles, Yuzu would win even if he just sat on the ice for 4 minutes
  20. If Yuzuru wants to win 4CC before retiring, I don't think we need to worry about him retiring next year... Out of all countries in the world, guess where 4CC 2019 will take place... ... yes, it'll be in the USA
  21. I just rewatched ACI 2017 and I'm at the fact that his LP scored less than 43 points higher than his SP there.. not to mention his LP TES was only 3 points higher than his SP TES... I'm pretty sure Yuzu holds some sort of record for the smallest points difference between the SP and the LP performed at the same competition, doesn't he?
  22. The only accurate Yuzuru/Yuri comparison
  23. In this interview (min. 11:08) they asked Javi who cried most after he won his Olympic medal -out of his father, his mother, his sister, his teammates, Yuzuru or himself- ...and his answer was Yuzuru https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=1914071481956796&id=277119358985358&_rdr
  24. Does anyone have a link to watch that interview with subs?
