That wouldn't surprise me since he saw Plushenko almost getting OGM at 27 years gold and winning the Team OGM at 31, and he always says he's been inspired by him since he was a kid. Edit: I remember that immediately after Sochi Yuzu had a interview with CNN (he was even wearing his blue team japan outfit) and he said straight that his goal was to get a second OGM. He seemed kuyashii about the R&J 2.0 FS.

The only thing I dislike about the new footage is the Japanese voiceovers! Ugh as a Spanish speaker I want to hear Javi's voice when he talks about these beautiful moments, not the Japanese dub. I also want to know how accurate these translations are.

The first tweet is spot on but I don't agree with the narrative that "Nathan is suffering the most from all of this". No. The ones suffering the most are the skaters who aren't rewarded for their skills and work and have to watch him get uncalled URs, unjustified +90PCs and +5GOE (nationally and internationally) just because he's the favorite American.

It isn't only a about yesterday's comments though. I still remember all that Johnny has been saying since the 2016-2017 season. For me personally yesterday's comments were the final straw. Of course Johnny is entitled to his opinion but what I don't like is how two-faced he is and how he only praises Yuzuru when it's convenient for him. About you guys saying "he just likes Nathan better", yeah his comments would be understandable if he were a Nathan fan but have you forgotten about the Olympics SP? I remember how cruel NBC commentators were to him and how they completely turned on him after he got 17th place.

Yuzu checking up on Jason is the sweetest thing I think Jason is the skater closest to his age (they were born like 8 days apart). On another note... Lol on Twitter he "loves Yuzu-kun" yet on TV he drags him and his skating every chance he gets... Pick a side, Johnny (and Zu bring back LGC challenge)
-
I do love Otoñal but Johnny Weir disrespecting Yuzuru on national television is yet another reason why the best SP of all time should be brought back for redemption at Worlds: miss LGC. (I'm only half kidding.)

Ohh I understand. I was here in 2017 when the injury happened but the next 2 months I was completely disconnected from figure skating since I wasn't in the mood after my favorite artist passed away in December. That's also why I'm so outraged at the scoring today: it's my first time watching US Nats and seeing such inflated scores. So I'm sorry, if I had read those articles I'd been more cautious with my wording. I didn't mean he should drop "the jump that injured him", I just think that when he's healthy enough he should channel all of his energy into 4A if that's his priority. I'd also understand if he dropped 4lo/3f/3lz for that same goal. I think that achieving his childhood dream of 4A is more imporant to him right now than breaking WRs or proving he can do 4lz. But of course this is only speculation and I'm not in his head. Hopefully he'll be healthy enough to bring back as many jumps as he wishes.
-
as @airi said I was referring mostly to the potential mental block linked to 4lz. Rationally speaking you're right but I still couldn't help feeling more uneasy if I saw him going for it than if he did any other "easier" quad. (I think Brian has mentioned that Yuzu was against training 4lz again but I'm not sure?) About this year's injury, yes I'm aware that it happened on a 4Lo but I don't think the fall was as severe and I'm not sure the impact would've been as bad if his ankle hadn't suffered a previous injury already. I mean, we can't really compare the severity of two incidents because this year he fell on the foot that had already been hurt before.
-
not to jinx or alarm anyone but I can't ignore the fact that Yuzu still hasn't got his x2 mandatory S*lvers per season will he break the curse this year?
-
I suspect that you guys who want lady 4Lutz back weren't here in nov 2017... I'd feel more at ease seeing him try a 4A even. I feel like Yuzu wouldn't want to ruin his 100% success rate on the lutz lmao. IMO at this point training that jump is not worth the risk or the stress for him. He has nothing to prove. He's just skating for himself and his own dreams now and I really doubt 4Lz is part of the dream skate he has in mind.

the part that moved me most in Yuzuru's message was the "thank you for allowing me to come to Toronto"... that's something I often think about but I didn't know that he did too. Yuzu's career (and life) might have been entirely different if Javi had refused to have him as a training mate. I wouldn't have blamed Javi though- it must be difficult to be so sweet and supportive towards your main rival and it's something I've rarely seen among other elite athletes ever. That's why their bond is extra special. Maybe Yuzuru wouldn't have made such stellar achievements if he had had to train elsewhere, alongside diffetent people... or maybe he'd have had just as much success. who knows? but I'm definitely glad that the past 7 years turned out as they did for both of them and I'm thankful to have witnessed their inspiring and exemplary rivalry/friendship.

YES. I'm gonna start a petition for him to recycle LGC and Origin next year. I'd give him both my ankles and knees for a clean performance of LGC
-
... I think we've all been trolled lmao . I feel so dumb for not realizing it before. Cute manip though.

my biggest uwu ever

imagine if Yuzu showed up at Euros to cheer for Javi one last time...

Happy new Year to you as well!! Best wishes. Pyeongchang was also the highlight for me but personally, I was too nervous to actually do the math in that moment (I couldn't even stand to watch Javi and Shoma's LPs live!). I just remember reading a brief post here that said something like "Shoma just fell on 4lo so Yuzu got OGM". When others confirmed it I reopened the stream and caught the K&C reactions just in time, lmao. So I realized Yuzu won and started tearing up it at the same time time that he did lol

Though there are 10hrs of 2018 left here, I also wish everyone and Yuzu himself a very happy 2019!!! One year ago, my number one New Year's wish was to see Yuzuru's 2nd OGM. Now, my main hope is for him to be healthy enough to keep doing what he loves and achieving every single one of his dreams I wish lots of health and happiness to him and everyone who's part of this community. One of my highlights of 2018 was sharing the bliss (and the whole rollercoaster of emotions) of each competition (especially Pyeongchang) with all of you. Let's keep making beautiful memories in 2019 too.

Picture this... Yuzuru shows up at Worlds 2019 to compete for the first time since CoR. In the SP warmup, he reveals a familiar light-blue costume and everyone in the crowd cheers. The warmup ends and it's his turn to skate. You hear the announcer say "On the ice, representing Japan, Yuzuru Hanyu... skating to Ballade no. 1 by Chopin" ( just kidding)

I just found a pendrive with all of these. (I downloaded almost everything from Pyeongchang because I needed to rewatch that competition a million times). The CIONTU videos are the full broadcasts. If any of you guys need any video from here, let me know and I'll send it to you. Edit: I also have Pyeongchang FS - CBC AND CCTV (Chinese) version and the full 180213 press conference

A few months ago I decided I'd make a Yuzuru MAD/fan video that would be like a tribute to his career... I wanted it to be really special so I watched almost every performance and video of him I could find, picked the absolute best ones and made a Youtube playlist of stuff I'd need to download. I even made a list of many of the best jumps, spins and other elements he's ever done, by writing down the time stamps based on each video (e.g video #5, minute 2:10 to 2:40). Now most of the playlist consists of deleted videos... sigh... @ ISU I want my time back.
-
What should I do about this? Are only full performances being deleted?
-
The legendary one.. "The sea of flags from Japan. what can he produce? Lying in fifth place, surely a medal is within his grasp if he can skate anywhere near his top form"...
-
Worlds 2017 Hope & Legacy has been deleted off Youtube... I'm crying. That was like my most watched video ever- I was so attached to it... Now I'm scared ISU will delete my channel because of the YH Reacting to his WRs video... I don't want to lose my channel but I'd hate to delete that video

Almost a year ago (december 18th, precisely) a very unfortunate tragedy happpened which impacted me deeply. From then on, I went through a dark period of grief and I thought I'd never be able to smile genuinely again. Two months later the men's Olympics event happened, which was the first time I felt truly happy since that day. What Yuzu achieved at Pyeongchang helped me reach the stage of acceptance and it gave me strength to imitate his resilience and try to overcome the pain. He showed me that there's always a light at the end of the tunnel. Happy birthday to our golden miracle boy. I'm so incredibly thankful to Yuzuru for all the joy, inspiration and hope he's given me and so many other people. I wish the world will repay him with at least as much happiness as he's brought to everyone else, and of course good health too. I hope that today he'll be showered with all the love he deserves.

I'm so emotional about TCC family...
